Looking forward to seeing the results people get between now and christmas! I am certainly doing it with 100% conviction to slide into Christmas day knowing I gave my all!

  2. Jessica Wright

Am really looking forward to getting started, but is there anywhere I can get the ketostixs and other bits and pices onine, I am quite a drive from health food stores etc.

    Thanks

    1. tisme

Hi Jess, where do you live? what city?We did think about stocking them but thought it would be quicker for people to go to their nearest chemist as most people have access to a chemist. I am starting on the same programme as you all tomorrow as well so I am off to the chemist in the morning
You sound very motivated so looking forward to your progress reports. All chemists will stock them

  3. Mrs JR McFadden

Have just registered and downloaded the program overview. Is there a specific eating plan that we will be following to download?

I also read that there would be mp3 downloads to be used from day one.

Will be off to chemist in the morning and keen to get started.

    Thanks

    1. Phyllis

      HI Julie!
The specifics are in your food lists, you get to choose how to put them togther so that they suit you best! Your first recording link will come out tomorrow and then the other three follow a day apart. We don’t want anyone to go into overwhelm so a little often is good, this is a mini kick start programme and so very simple to do if it’s followed in it’s pure form. You will get ideas along the way posted on here. Looking forward to getting to know you. I am myself starting the programme tomorrow too! Race you to Christmas day!

  4. Marcus Simkin

    Hi everyone,
I will look for the products tomorrow and will see what happens – it looks like it will be challenging and worthwhile. I will need to print the pdf file at work on Monday – one at home broke down.
It will be awesome to see great results.
Will hopefully get a photo online soon.
    Cheers
    Marcus

    1. phyllis

HI Marcus! Finally a bloke posting. Yes it’s going to be awesome. Damian knows his stuff when it comes to getting the weight off and I am also expecting great results from myself. Looking forward to your photo Marcus

  5. Nita Tavendale

I so need this kick up the arse just before christmas…. I’m sure I can manage to get through this next 21 days :0

    1. phyllis

You can! I am and there is a bunch of us racing up to christmas day. Pick something out thats a little snug, not a lot snug as you have to be realistic, its three weeks away. I have mine picked out.

  6. Lisa Evans

I am really nervous but am looking forward to it! I have also just started a course of anitbotics for a bug I had, is it still ok to take supplements while doing this? I still have 7 days to go on them.

    1. phyllis

      Hi lisa
we can not give you medical advice so you must always check with your medical support people. Don’t be nervous, remember it’s a quick 21 day blitz programme

  7. Racheal Harold

    Hi Phyllis,
I guess with the exclusion of carbs, personally I find it a challenge to think about varying meals, maybe its possible for you to diarise your daily eating journal so we may get ideas?

    1. phyllis

HI Racheal, thats an excellent suggestion for two reasons (well actually heaps more than just two but two Im going to share!)
One is that yes other people can get ideas from what I do and Two It makes me accountable! so Im off to plan my meals for tomorrow and will post them on the support page. Remember fruit and veges are carbs, it’s the poor choice carbs you are excluding

  8. Samantha Marra

I really liked Damian’s pitch for this challenge. It is too easy to get caught up in the festive season and be eating sweets and drinking leading up to xmas and by the time the day arrives the yummy meals and treats are not so speacial. 21 days of focus is just what I need. My family a joining in too much to to their disgust when we were given a gift today of some chocolates. My husband wanted to open them and I said no – not till christmas!

    1. phyllis

Hi Samantha, yes 21 days anyone can do anything right! so it’s nice easy light commitment until christmas to get going@ We do eat things to often that should be a every now and then treat (you are so right!) and then many people wonder how they got into trouble with their bodies , me included~

  9. Mrs JR McFadden

Thanx Phyllis for your earlier reply. Just so I understand this properly….looking at the program food lists in the download, my breakfast options at this stage would be eggs or the yoghurt with fruit. (no cereal/bread/milK)

Would you suggest one egg or two and also can you use soy yoghurt instead. ( I react badly to full fat dairy products)

    Julie

  10. phyllis

thats right, I would have two eggs, don’t need to go hungry, it’s about eating well. Damian will answer the soy yoghurt question

  11. Michelle

    Hi

I have paid for the programme but can’t log in to download the material. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

  12. phyllis

HI Michelle, click on the members download at the top of the page and you are already logged in , otherwise you wouldnt be able to write on this wall πŸ™‚

  13. Michelle

    Hi Phyllis

When I click on the members downloads it says “oops you are not logged in” and asks me for my username and password but I never had to enter one when I signed up. I have tried the forgot password function but it doesn’t recognise me. Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Michelle

  14. Pamela Rutherford

I got through my first day easily and am proud to say that I had no wine with dinner, despite my husband opening a bottle! I sipped on water with a slice of lemon and felt very vituous!

  15. Angela Cooper

    Hi all,
I am really excited about this challenge it is just what I need to get me back on track, just 21 days not to long, a great motivator. I’m looking forward to seeing the results, I will get the stuff from the chemist tomorrow.

  16. Clair Rochester

Hey there, was just wondering what the ‘rules’ are regarding legumes? Dont see them on nay of the lists but as they are a good protein source and wondered if i could substitute them for meat in the meals

  17. shellbell

I got started this morning, so will not be quite finished in time for christmas day, will have to excercise great willpower that day!
Have been down to our only healthshop and they hadn’t heard of any of the products, so am waiting to hear back from them this morning as to whether they can get them or not.

    1. phyllis

      HI Shell Bell
Damian has arrange for you to get the Uroplex directly from Metagenics with a special number, it will come out in an email for you tonight.
The Colozone for those whos city doesnt stock it will be arranged tomorrow, apologises but Damian is shocked its not avaliable everywhere!

      1. phyllis

        Hi Mahanae
the uroplex has to be ordered through Metagenics, have a look on the members support or products page
        Phyllis

  18. Angela Cooper

    Hi Phyllis,
I went to the health shop in Invercargill, and they told me that I would need a prescription for them to get the colozone and uroplex, and then they would have to order it from Metagenics, they had a person who had been waiting for 10 days for an order.
The chemist didn’t have either of these and was waiting on an order of ketostix.
HELP what do you suggest I do.
Has anyone else had this problem.

  19. Carmen Johnson

    Hi Phyllis,
I have the same problem as Angela. I have rung 3 Health Shops in Invercargill and none of them have heard of Colozone or Uroplex. One told me that a Bowel Biotic and Herbal Diuretic would do the same thing. Another told me I would have to get a script from a Naturopath. Any suggestions?

One more question, are we not aloud any fresh herbs except for parsley and chives on this challenge and do you have any suggestions for a nice dressing to go over a salad. I tried olive oil, garlic and balsamic vinegar, but it tasted too tangy.

    Thanks
    Carmen

  20. Mrs JR McFadden

Hi Angela, yes I to have had a problem getting the Uroplex. I have been told that it needs to be prescribed by a Naturopath. Also the healthfood shophad just placed there orders today and said that could not order it until next Mon.

Visited another healthfood shop and got the same response…needs to be order in and prescribed by a Naturopath.

Will try and do a ring around of remaining healthfood stores on the Central Coast tomorrow but sounds like I might have to wait for them to be ordered in.

    1. phyllis

      Hi Julie
Damian has arranged for you to get it direct from Metagenics, he was totally unaware some of you would haveproblems in different areas. The challenge is being extended until New Years Eve so you still have plenty of time
will send out the information for ordering tonight for the Uroplex.

  21. shellbell

I cannot get the products here, the chemist had not heard of uroplex, neither had our local health 2000 shop. The health shop had a ‘Natures Way’ product called urinary (I think), he said it it used to support the kidneys with detoxing, will this do?

  22. Phillipa Ferguson

I have had the same problem. Couldn’t get Uroplex or ketostix even at Health 2000. They didn’t know what Colozone was but suggested Blackmores Bio Magnesium tabs, would this have the same effect?

    Thanks
    Phillipa

    1. phyllis

      HI Phillipa
have put it on the support page, for those of you who live rural or having trouble getting it, we have arranged for you to get it directly

  23. Raewyn

    Hi Phyllis
I am in the same boat, I live very rural but went to town today – 1/2 hour away the two chemists and the health shop had not heard of Uroplex
For Colozone the health shop gave me Blackmores BIO Magnesium (relieves muscle cramps) they rang Dunedin shop to check is this right
So can I join the list to order from Metagenics please
    Cheers
    Raewyn

    1. phyllis

the metagenics contacts are on the member support page, we couldnt believe that it’s so hard to get it!

  24. Raewyn

    To Carmen Johnson
Try just fresh lemon juice squeezed over a salad, it’s very nice a favourite of mine
    Cheers
    Raewyn

  25. Cheryl

    Hi Everyone

I am really excited about this programme – I asked my daughter to enroll me to meet the 48 hour deadline as I was on my way to China when I heard about it and she is now findng the supplements for me in Hong Kong! – now that may be a bit of a challenge! but not 21 days I hope! – also planning and applying myself to how to get around two Christmas parties – one is easy as I am taking some of the food – just listened to the call with Alison – so inspiring – my daughter met Alison in Sydney recently – Yeah here we goooooooo!

    Ciao Cheryl

    1. phyllis

well done you! lots of people have asked us if they can start the 21 days later than last saturday and the answer is yes, we will take people up until this friday and that will take them up to 31st Dec NEW YEARS EVE!! wohhoo what a way to finish the year and start a new one! Lighter! πŸ™‚ I know your daughter! she is one of our 112 day challengers and she has done amazing! you must be very proud!

  26. Cheryl

Just seen your bit about Catherine Phyllis YES I AM VERY PROUD OF HER – I keep bragging in emails home to friends -and extremely grateful to Damain and you too – what really amazes me is the change in her head space – she rang me one day and told me she had three piles of clothes –

    1. dead ones – to throw out
    2. those to be operated on – alterations
    in China
    3. those to keep

In the end she threw the the ‘operating ones’ out too – as she realised it was important not to feel sloopy – think Alison said something to this effect too – perhaps more the opposite side of the coin – feeling good in your clothes and dressing up to weigh herself in that beautiful silver gown – Catherine’s growth in confidence is amazing – no more ‘deferred life’ for Catherine or me

    1. damian

Hi ya Cheryl, feel free to get it from any website. or you can contact Metagenics Australia on 1800 777 648 and use practitioner number 30926x or NZ on 09 478 2540 or Free Call 0508 227 744 and quoting practitioner number 2465x and they will ship direct from the warehouse over night usually. Hey

How is everyone else finding this?

I’m loving the challenge of finding creative new things to cook – fresh fruit and yoghurt looks like breakfast; I did a great omelette and salad for lunch yesterday; and my amazing flatmate provided fresh snapper for me to bake whole and have with salad last night.

Are we allowed to add fresh herbs? In particular, I missed basil, dill and fennel yesterday.

I have to admit I was a bit lethargic on Sunday … and had a killer headache yesterday … hmmm, would that be the after effects of too much caffeine??? Bring on the lemon and water …

    1. damian

Yeah go for gold… add as many fresh herbs as you like. this is a great way to add heaps of awesome flavours to your meals.

πŸ™‚ caffeine detox… you gotta love it!

  29. Jess

I am having problems getting the bits and pieces as well, have called 4 places and am getting nowhere, any suggestions? Thanks

  30. Georgina Stevenson

    Hi there

just wondering if you could pass on the info from Metagenics as well. Down here in Timaru you can’t get it either.

Hi all – if anyone else from Timaru let me know!

    Georgie

    1. phyllis

The details on how to order the Uroplex from Mteagenics are on the members support page for you now πŸ™‚

    1. damian

Kiwi’s if you contact PACIFIC HEALTH on this number, +64 (9) 815 0707, (Aussies can get Colon Cleanse from any health food store or pharmacy) and give them Account number 5526, we have arranged a special discount price for 21 days to change participants. Phyllis has more details to follow. πŸ™‚

  31. Marcus Simkin

I have been having trouble also but will have it sorted soon. It is good that the extension has been made – as I haven’t quite started. It will be a great way to end the year and hopefully the principles can be a habit after the 21 days to continue on with in the new year. πŸ™‚

    1. phyllis

yes but remember this is a kick start for 21 days, how much weight do you have to lose total Marcus if you dont mind sharing?

  32. Georgina Stevenson

    Hi again,
I have been to the health 200 store here and they don’t have the colozone or a magnesium oxide powder. They have a Good health Mag Lax – is this alright to use instead or woul dyou suggest not to?
    thanks
    Georgie

    1. phyllis

      Hi Georgie
I think you got sorted to day but just in case you didnt
its on the support page where you can get it directly now so you don’t have to hunt around

  33. Rebecca Haskell

    hi phyllis

i am interested to know when we take the colon stuff will that go straight thru you if you have irritable bowel syndrom. or is it something that will slowly go thru?

    1. damian

If you have LOOSE IBS yes it will move through very fast… if your IBS is FIRM/CONSTIPATED, you will enjoy the result. Your IBS should improve through the 21 days though and as things firm up and move more appropriately… you could do the Magnesium then.

  34. Carmen Johnson

    Hi everyone,

I ordered the Uroplex from Metagenics as suggested by Damian. I also ordered the Omega 3, multi vitamins and Ketostix through them as well. They are going to be couriered tonight and will be here tomorrow.

Thanks Raewyn for the salad suggestion.

Does anyone know how many eggs we are able to have for the week. I have been having 2 eggs a day for the last 3 days and was wondering if there is any limit.

    Thanks
    Carmen

    1. damian

      HI there!

You can have as many eggs as you like per day… 2 Recent studies our of the UK have shown that eggs can lower cholesterol and DEFINITELY do not raise it. Poached is the best way to have it.

  35. Pamela Rutherford

The fruits seem quite limited – what’s wrong with kiwi fruit and papaya?

Can we have oil and vinegar/ lemon juice dressing on salads or home made balsamic dressing with balsamic vinegar and olive oil?

Otherwise all is well – I haven’t bothered with the uroplex etc as it said optional.I am taking a mulitivitamin though.

Having eggs on spinach and tomato or yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. Taking a salad for lunch at work and dinner has been stirfry veges with beef, lamb or chicken so far. Can we have seafood -prawns etc?

  36. Clair Rochester

Just wanted to double check as I can’t see a response from Damien…as I dont really enjoy meat can I use legumes instead for my protein?

    1. damian

Hey Claire… yeah you can… just add some quinoa or brown rice to your meals too… the total portion of quinoa and lentils mixed should be about a palm full… cooked… its not much… but enough in most cases unless you are exercising. Do you eat fish, eggs or chicken?

  37. kerri hansen

hi starting programme tommoro after yet another handfull of cadbury favourites hope i can do it this time

  38. Cheryl

Kerri – I felt like you on Sunday – after eating too much crispy pork – today in ketosis and feeling clear headed and focused – hang in there and yes you can do it

Just had salmon and veges – yum!

I had fun getting thru to Metagenics from Hong Kong – blinkin Telecomm kept telling me the number I found in the white pages was not in use 3 times! – just about to give up when a Carol came on the phone – had to send it to my son in Auckland – so get it next Wednesday – but it’s spose to at his place tomorrow -very efficient

    Ciao everyone

  39. Georgina Stevenson

Hi Phyllis – yep all sorted – talked to mum last night – so between us we’re all good.

Ready to start for tomorrow hopefully!! had a xmas do last night – so had a few wee treats but wasnt really over indulging (for a change!!) and *gasp* i took a fruit salad as my plate and it went down a hit! Everybody was so pleased for something healthy and was a nice change. so there is an easy plate option if anyone looking – just cut up the fruit into good sizes and wahlah!!

  40. kerri hansen

day one fruit and yogurt for breaky and a few aimonds resisted my little ones nice smelling toast

  41. Marcus Simkin

    Hi all,

I weigh 112kg at the moment (It has varied by 1 or 2kg over the last half a year). I need to increase my exercise and have healthy eating habits. I’m about 179cm tall and have solid bones. Over the next three weeks if I can lose 4kg that would be a great start. Overall the ideal weight for me would be 85kg at the end of 2010? I think my BMI is about 35 which places me as obese. At 85kg the BMI would be 27 which makes me overweight. So maybe I need to lose more? Not too sure if going on BMI is good – but I know the way I will feel after losing weight will be great – that will be my main aim. πŸ™‚

  42. kerri hansen

any ideas for a snack at morning tea i had a lettuce leaf stuffed with feta and grated carrot today

  43. KiwiFit

    Hi Kerri

I must try that – it sounds great.

My morning tea/afternoon tea has been a mix of …
    * celery sticks/carrot sticks dipped in guacamole
    * celery sticks with cottage cheese
    * almonds
    * pistachio nuts
    * nut mix with sunflower seeds
    * piece of fruit

    Cheers

  44. Rebecca Haskell

i really only started today as had things on. i know excuses excuses. breaky unfortunatly was only a coffee and half a litre of water. lunch was veges and chicken. dinner well i will have report back on that as i havent planned it yet.

    to everyone:
Split your goal up into small achievable goals, this way it doesn’t seem so daunting. Start of with tiny goals – Day 1 goal – today I will do at least 10minutes of exercise. Day 2 goal – today I will drink my 2 litres of water. By making small steps it makes things just that little bit easier. Write it down and tick it off as you do it. Remember slow and steady wins the race!!!!

  45. Cheryl

    Kerri and Kiwifit

Thanks for the sharing on snacks – inspiring – mine are so boring – 15 almonds each day 15 almonds 15 almonds got the picture! BORING until the packet is gone – don’t trust myself with too much in the house as they say!!!

    Ciao Cheryl

  46. Mrs JR McFadden

    Hi fellow challengers,

Just had the most delicious lunch and thought I would share it with you.

    Warm Pumpkin Salad

1.Add some baby spinach, rocket leaves and a couple of cherry tomatoes to your bowl
    2. Add either tuna, salmon or chicken
    3. A few cubes of feta
    4. A sprinkle of pine nuts ( you can dry toast them for more crunch)
    5. Add some oven roasted pumpkin & onion ( I brushed lightly with olive oil)
    6. finish off with a splash of balsamic vinegar and olive oil

You can also add a few olives and shredded mint/corriander to vary taste.

If you use just a little of all of the above ingredients you can keep to the portion sizes……beats a basic salad any day!

You could have this for dinner aswell

    Hope you enjoy!

  47. Lisa Goldsmith

I’m semi-vege in that the only meat I eat is fish. It may be a lack of imagination but my daily menu has been fruit with/without yoghurt, nuts for snacks, frittata and fish and veges/salad for dinner.

I’ve been finding it a little tricky with no legumes (kidney beans, chickpeas etc.) or tofu on the list. Help?

    1. damian

      Hi there Lisa,

Are you Semi Vegetarian for a reason?

There are so many ways to do fish, it can be poached, steamed, BBQ’d, grilled etc… and there are heaps of different fish around. In terms of eggs, why not have poached eggs in the morning, every morning, many people do, have fish in the evening and then at Lunch have a salad with a combination of Nuts and seeds sprinkled through it with some Balsamic vinegar, some cheese (Boccincini) Chillis and olive oil over the top… this is a great meal plan. its a 3 week body blitz.

  48. Clair

Hey there Damien, thank for your response…I do eat eggs and have meat or fish a couple of times a week but don’t fancy having it daily! Currently i combine grains and beans or something similar in my meat free meals to make sure i get all those aminos!! It’s not really my meals that are the cause of my weight issues but all the crap i eat in between!!!:)

  49. Katie English

    Hi everyone.
Just starting the challenge – and am soooo excited! Fairly healthy in my eating already so not much would seem a challenge to me yet – hmmm..!!!

I have a fish receipe that I have used a couple of times that is just great….

Marinade firm fish that you have seasoned with a little black pepper (I use Schnapper or Gurnard) in some olive oil, dried flaked oregano and fresh garlic. Keep in fridge in marinade 2 – 3 hours. Drain from marinade when ready to cook – don’t need to pat dry. Place in baking dish, cover with foil and bake in oven at about 180 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Serve with salad or roasted veges. Very yummy!!

    Katie :o)

  50. Mrs JR McFadden

Having trouble accessing the Menu Planner download. I dont seem to be able to click on any link???

Have been doing well up until now, but have picked a head cold from the kids. I guess this eating plan will help me recover pretty quickly as opposed to the usual comfort eating I usually do when not well!

  51. Mrs JR McFadden

Damian, dont know whether you saw my earlier query about the full fat yoghurt. I have always reacted badly to full fat dairy products. I generally used low fat yoghurt and skim or soy milk.

Is there a alternative soy yoghurt I could use??? I tried the full fat natural yoghurt this morning and feel terrible…Thanx

    Julie

    1. damian

      Hi there Mrs McFadden,

Please feel free to use Low Fat yoghurt if you prefer. Your reaction is often the case with people who may have a gall bladder issue, and is common.

      regards

      Damian

  52. kerri hansen

day two feeling great not been hungry faced with an assortment of pastries today stuck to my chicken and salad

  53. Carmen Johnson

    Hi everyone

Day 5 and I have been sticking to this 100%. I can’t believe how much I have been enjoying the food! Today is the best I have felt, was feeling tired and weak until today, I presume I was going through the withdrawal phase. I can already feel the weight falling off, my clothes fit better and even my shoes feel looser!

Mrs JR McFadden, I made your Pumpkin Salad for tea tonight and it was delicious. I had it with lamb on the side.

I made a salad for lunch I thought I would share with you that was really tasty.
    – saute sliced chicken with garlic and olive oil
    – when cooked add this to a bowl with shredded raw cabbage (I used red and green), carrot and peppers
    – make a dressing with natural yoghurt, crushed garlic, lemon juice and parsley and stir through
    – I also added a little bit of feta as well.

I may have had too much dairy today though. I had yoghurt for breakfast with fruit, then the feta and also the dressing.

Is there any limit on how much dairy you are aloud?

    Cheers
    Carmen

    1. damian

hi there Carmen, it is possible to have too much Dairy… and you can leave it out… i am happy with what you have done for today. πŸ™‚

  54. Phillipa Ferguson

Hi Guys, nearly finished day four, feeling good now that the headache is gone. Had a really nice chicken salad for dinner – chicken, lettuce, avocado, egg, tomato, sprouts, feta, carrot, sprinkled with chilli flavoured sunflower and seaseme seeds, balsamic vinegarette. Yumm! watermellon for dessert. there are some great ideas coming through the postings which i will definitely use.
    Cheers
    Phillipa

  55. Mrs JR McFadden

Hey Damain, Thanks for the reply re the full fat yoghurt. I have always been curious why I react badly to full fat products. You mentioned this could be due to a gall bladder issue. Just wondering now about my gall bladder …. do I need to be doing something about it???? Would this be something I arrange to speak to you separately about???

    Cheers Julie

  56. Mrs JR McFadden

Hey Carmen, glad you liked the salad! Cannot believe I had not thought of doing it with lamb before…that would be great!

Loving hearing everyones food ideas and progress reports. Definately helps you keep focused and keeping variety going.

I am struggling on despite having a head cold. I normally “feed” a cold so this is definately pushing alot of buttons. Overall though I am started to see some little changes which is great!

    Julie

  57. Carmen Johnson

I used the Colozone for the first time last night and what a clean out. It was more than just loose, was like green water. Is that normal or did I have too much Colozone? I used a level teaspoon full.
I went for my walk this morning and had to hold on until I got home and I can still feel my tummy gurgling at the moment.

  58. Georgie

Hi everyone, great feedback going on.
I am on day 2. had a pretty good day yesterday – funny how you feel during the day. i guess i used to snack on what ever was handy to me. now i’m organised and have good snacks, it feel a bit different. think am going through withdrawl….noticed yesterday with no coffee – had headached all day…feel a bit lethargic on it…felt quite low later in the day. Feeling ok ish today… feel a bit tired, not sure if its a combination of end of busy week or not. Will power had to kick in for me last night – was making muffins for the boys and they smelt so good. Somehow managed to resist (yay me!) Not sure why i feel a bit grot really – if its the fact you are really concentrating on what you are doing and knowing where your limits are. have never really been good at sticking to a ‘diet’ so is handy my mum is doing this too…have rang/txt her so many times in the last few days (cheers mum).

    Georgie

Well Done Georgie, and great that your mum is doing it too! Any other mother /daughter combo’s out there? great support to have someone alongside you

  59. Pamela Rutherford

I am now on Day 6 and I am feeling so good and clear headed! Not going hungry at all. Have been working hard at the gym too. I sneakily weighed in this morning and was down by 2kg which has inspired me to keep it up!! Bringing my lunch to work each day – good for the wallet as well as the waistline. Today I am looking forward to my lunch – leftover pumpkin and asparagus from last night, with added lettuce, cucumber, olives, avocado, cherry tomatoes and a tin of tuna to go with it.

Damien and Phyllis you didn’t answer my question about kiwifruit – can we eat it even though its not on the list?

    Pamela

  60. Helen Goy

    Hi Guys
Sorry, but I still cannot find your answer to my question. Am I looking in the wrong place?
(I know, always one thick person in the group).

    Helen

    1. damian

HI there Helen, great pick up. Kumara, i should have put on your ok list, its good to go especially in a salad like this The Eggs are not an issue… eggs are good Boccincini is a wet mozzerella… its beautiful and available from all good deli sections and food stores

  61. Cheryl

Great to read all the positive feedback and excitement in the group – super 2 kgs Pamela

I can’t get over how easy it is to walk past chocolate etc. in this kestosis state – its like i’m two different people

    Great meal ideas – thanks

  62. Barbara Taylor

About to begin the challenge – but the story starts way back in 2008 when I was 55kg and feeling great after leaving my miserable marriage (I’m 1.68m and have been slimmer than 55kg)
Fast forward to 2009 and I’m 65kg, madly in love with a great new guy but miserable with my stomach and legs. The Xmas work do photos made me look like a large orange elephant (was wearing orange)
Have eliminated all food from house, brought suppliments and have fruit, veges and gallons of water (with lemon and mint) waiting in fridge.
Saturday 12th December sees the challenge begin…..
My partner returns from work (he works month on/month off on an oil rig) in early January and I’m so motivated to greet him with a gorgeous new me! Will keep you posted

    1. phyllis

How great to be madly in love Barbara and using is arrival date back to motivate yourself. Remember to always do things from a self love angle and it will be more likely to be long lasting! And we don’t have elephants in New Zealand so it was surely a trick of the camera . πŸ™‚ Looking forward to your progress

  63. kerri hansen

i to am amazed how not hungry i am although a bit sad about no friday night treats and whats with the funny breath . i have stopped myself picking when making kids meals so many times didn t realize

  64. Barbara Taylor

I totally agree Phyllis with your comment about self love being the best way to achieve long term results – and that also makes you a better partner in a relationship if you have healthy self esteem and good body image.
Day one has been a breeze (that’s tempting fate isn’t it!) Fruit for breakie with yoghurt, vege stuffed omlet for lunch and stir fry beef for dinner washed down with copious amounts of water. Tomorrow will require resolve as I head to my ‘Girls Xmas Lunch’ – will be sure to make the healthiest choices possible!

    1. phyllis

You have a great attitude Barbara so you are already successful and yes it true for woman that if we feel good about ourselves we are better in our relationships not only with the opposite sex but also in all areas of our lives
It’s about “Woman Living In Bodies They Love” which is going to be the title of my book I’m writing now about my journey of losing 33 kilos last year finally after being overweight for most of my adult live (I’m 46!) so it was a while, teaming up with Damian and also becoming a seerious student of what it is that makes us fat and then keeps us fat over the last 2 years means i know feel i understand what was keeping me there all those years!

  65. Helen Goy

    Hi Guys
Weekend a bit harder than during the weekly routine of work etc. Only just went off track while at a luncheon for my Miniature Dolls House Group. I would usually have eaten a lot more, and more of the wrong food, so feeling good about that, also no alcohol all weekend !!.
Off to buy some electronic scales today to weigh my self more accurately.

    Helen

  66. Katie English

    Hi Damian and Phyllis

Day 2 for me today – was at a Chrissie BBQ yesterday and resisted ALL the yummy choc dipped strawberries and marshmallows and had no alcohol. Stuck to the salads and no chippies and dips! Very proud of myself. And it felt really good.

Today is another matter – fearsome headache – and yes, drinking lots of water, so not sure what it is??

And have been hungry all afternoon and resisting the impulse to go to the fridge or cupboard! Had the allowances for breakfast and lunch and the snack…. except not the cottage cheese as really struggle with it!!

Wonder whether it may also be that I do quite a bit of exercise…… ran 40 minutes / 5K this morning. Perhaps as I didn’t have the cottage cheese, not sufficient protein?

Will report back how I feel tomorrow. Katie

    1. damian

      Hey Katie πŸ™‚

it will be the start of your detox :). i reckon you have just started BLASTING through your fat stores… you’ll feel awesome in a few days! πŸ™‚

      damian

  67. kerri hansen

hi how is everyone going day five for me doing pretty good out and about all day so took the pantry with me so i didnt get caught out had chinese five spice on my stirfried chicken last night really nice am a little concerned about what to do when challenge is up found the alison braun interview really good you relly dont feel better after that bingeing on junk

    1. phyllis

Hi Kerri, well done for being prepared and I love your “taking the pantry!” if you have more than 10 kilos to lose and you want to learn to truely keep the weight off for good then look at what Damian and I believe is the most unique programme on the planet and of course you don’t need to take my word because i am biased but listen to the testimonals of the people who have done it – visit http://www.SlimYou.com and look at the 112 day challenge
Alison Braun is incredible isnt she!

  68. kerri hansen

good morning every one its great waking up in the morning knowing how well you ate the day before i used to often wake in the night and have a bit of an anxiety attack over the chocolate and cheese i am your classic emotional eater never let myself get over 80 kilo but have been struggling to get back to what i should be for as long as i can remember. i love food !!!!!!!!!

  69. Lee-Anne Clarke

Wow, I cant believe Im about to get started on this challenge – Is a protein/low carb bar appropriate to use as a snack (one snack)? Just curious… Horleys Carb Less 55g net? Also no bread during the first week is that right?

    1. damian

      Hey Lee-Anne,

you could have the bars… but what is in them? Do you know and if its not on the list, it may slow things down a bit. For the 21days its best to avoid all bread πŸ™‚ good luck!

  70. Helen Goy

Oh!! “Off the Track” = 1x savoury, 1x taste of carrot cake.

Weighed myself on new scale – 1.5 loss !!.

    BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. phyllis

well done Helen! it feels good to have a loss when all you have seen is gains, keep it coming and thanks for sharing today about your energy boost that you have also had! Good food does that to you

  71. shellbell

    Hi everyone
had a terrible weekend with eating, think it was having all the kids home, and we were out busy doing stuff both days, and I wasn’t organised for myself, so I let myself down. Felt pretty full and not all that healthy for it, so back on track today and more determined than ever. Just off out for a run in the good old west coast rain. Still also lost weight this past week.

  72. Pamela Rutherford

Slipped up a bit over the weekend and had a couple of glasses of wine (whoops!) Back on track again now – still losing weight and feeling great. I am feeling really energetic and happy. It’s so great to see my weight going down – almost daily! Hard to believe how easy it is. Down by 3 kg now!! woohoo!

  73. Cheryl Christie

Can’t wait to read your book Phyllis – I have spent a life time studying weight loss and its emotional connection too – know that feeling Kerri waking up knowing you have been good the day before

  74. Mrs JR McFadden

    HI Challengers,

At the start of week two! Thought week one was going to be really tough but apart from the first few days its been fine. I have lost 2 kilos and my hubby has lost five! No more daytime naps for me…even when I have been up to the kids during the night and suffering from a head cold…..just dont seem to need it!

Loving the increased energy! Kerri, am going to try the chinese five spice on the chicken tonight…thanks for the tip. Have tried cajuan seasoning on chicken with slices of avocado on top which was nice!

    Julie

  75. kerri hansen

end of day six clothes feeling a bit looser dont want to weigh in just yet thinking maybe its because i am not bloated looking forward to hearing how everyone else is doing ? damian i have previously been taking fibroplex plus can i still use this

  76. Angela Cooper

    Hi everyone,
Have had a great first 7 days, it has been surprisingly easy to stick to it knowing it is 21 days, lost 2.8kg in that time, which I am rapped about, only thing not on the list that I don’t seem to be able to resist is the soy latte with lunch.
Keen for the next 7 days, hoping for a similar loss.

  77. Cheryl Christie

I can’t believe when I am ‘in zone’ my word or ketosis how easy it is to resist food I would normally crave – in fact it isn’t resisting – it just there but not what I want to eat for my health – but one mouthful of something with flour and sugar – and my mind goes on an imaginative journey of whatelse I could eat in that zone – with all sort f justifications bubbling up from the mind

Anyway I’m leaving on a jet plane tomorrow for NZ – been away 12 months and craving a bit of green grass etc.

    1. phyllis

HI Cheryl, your queries about the way the comments flow down and on the page have been sorted I hope πŸ™‚ well done with “being in the zone!” Are you and Cat both returning to New Zealand for the summer? For those of you who don’t know these two gorgeous people, they both kIWIS in Hong Kong and Cat is one of our 112 Day Challengers who has lost about 30 kilos now and introduced her mum to this programme.

  78. Katie English

    Hi Damian.

Still on the programme – and still feeling hungry. Measuring protein so having the right amounts. Filling up with water………

Headache abated a little. Will see what today brings!!

    Katie

  79. Marcus Simkin

Went from 112kg to 110kg in one week so pretty happy. Still tempted a few times to eat not so good choices. Fish oil is hard to take but am getting used to taking it with a little orange juice. With two weeks left I hope to continue and then consider the 112 Day programme. I need to maintain this momentum and also catch up with my exercise which is lacking a little.

    1. phyllis

It’s a great idea to follow up if you have more than 10 kilos to lose with the 112daychallenge as its about permanant weight loss and changes to support that . Far more intensive life changing programme that is 16 weeks long. There will be some information come out about it for the next challenge starting 5th Jan.
you can visit the http://www.SlimYou.com site and see some info about it there or call the office on 0800 7546968 Marcus. Well done with the loss πŸ™‚ it feels great doesnt it
is Orange juice on the list??? πŸ™‚

  80. Irene Reilly

    Hiya everyone,

I have decided that im going to start on the 26th dec, start my news years resolution before new years!!
I was pregnant last xmas and now she is 3 months old. I have about 45kg I want to loose. I dont want to start a detox now then crash on xmas day. Well done to all your weight loss and I will join you soon.
Merry xmas and a even better new year

  81. Morrine Leach

Day three for me, so far so good, no big issues – Uroplex and Colozone have just arrived by courier today so shall include them. A few questions Damian: any cheese other than boccini we could have? What about mushrooms? Is grapeseed oil okay for stir frying? Also what about bananas and oranges/tangeloes?

    1. damian

      hi there Morrine,

you can add all of the above if you like. the program works best if you stick to the suggested food list though πŸ™‚

  82. Chontelle Sundborn

Day 5 for me today, have lost 3 kilos, feel so much better, detox consisted only of blemishes and they’ve gone now to. I notice that I don’t crave sugar or fatty salty food like I used to, and I am so awake all of the time. Having quite bad fibromyalgia I have had a really hard time losing or maintaining weight and exercise is quite painful for me. This is working really well, I am sleeping deeper and recovering from the pain from exercising faster. Its fantastic. I am so motivated all day, every day. I can’t believe it.

    1. phyllis

Well done Chontelle! its a great programme for kick starting you on your health journey, don’t forget to look at what next with either the health club or the 112 day challenge, thats where the permanant change in life and health are.

  83. Helen Goy

    Hi Everyone
Just a quick recipe for you to try.

    2 eggs Chicken stock
    Chopped tomato Salt/pepper
    Chopped red pepper
    Grated kumera
    Grated carrot
    Chopped onion
    Mushrooms
Stir all ingredients together in a bowl, transfer into a oven proof dish and bake until no juices run out.

    Really yummy and filling.

Damian or Phyllis – If I put only one egg can I have the rest of the palm for chicken for the above recipe ?.

  84. Barbara Taylor

Day 4 done and dusted and only slipped up so far with a small round brandy circle with a wisk of cream and half strawberry and a small glass of bubbles at the ‘Girls Xmas Lunch’.

A question for Damien or Phyllis – I’ve put on a kilo! Surely not due to above – do realise I’ve got PMT but doing everything else right- gallons of water, magnesium oxide, supplements and careful portion sizes. Help πŸ™

    1. damian

πŸ™‚ its probably due to your menstrual cycle, most women will retain close to 1litre of flid prior to their period commencing… lets see how it goes in a few days. Damian

  85. kerri hansen

hey phyliss whats the health club ? had a good day today another chrismas picnic survived i ran threw what i would have normally polished off without thinking about it its no wonder i am overweight ! grilled field mushrooms with feta and olive oil and garlic really nice. i have lost 3 kilo with no excercise as i have just come out of a moon boot last week fell down the stairs and injured both legs will be on my bike tommorow ! really look rorward to reading feedback .does damian recommend colon cleansing?safe flight cheryl the weather forcast is awesome for the next week and the pohutukawas are in full flower

    1. damian

hey Kerri, yeah i recommend colon cleansing for sure. Congratulations on your weight loss so far, that is awesome! regards Damian

    2. phyllis

The health club has been asked about a lot so will cover that in a video when we do the draw. well done with all that you have done! and are doing! yes the colon clear or colozone is part of the process of the Body Blitz. Damian is doing a video on that as well so will email when it’s up

    3. Cheryl Christie

      Hi Kerri and everyone

So great to be back in NZ – yes the first thing I noticed as I exited the airport was the flowering pohutukawas – and the red tinge on the avocado trees was just uplifting to the spirit on the way to Tauranga – haven’t been able to access the internet as often here – and change of scales – but do feel good ‘in the ketosis zone’

Thanks Damian and Phyllis for making the reply button on each entry – big help

I don’t want to confuse the train of thought or the programme we are following – but today I had a live blood and dried blood analysis at a clinic in NZ – they said I have a fatty liver, a leaky gut and my dry skin itches are ‘dirt’ just below my skin I need to excrete – however my red cells are healthy (eating good healthy non processed food generally) and you can see the omega 3 type oils around the outside of them and my immune system is strong but I need to get rid of the fibre or signs of inflammation in my blood (and body)- they supported the 21 day challenge programme I am on and commented not to stay on it blah blah blah as Damian has commented

it all made sense to me – even thou I passed a liver test in 2008 according to the doctor – I asked about a fatty liver and was told emphatically NO no fatty liver

My liver is having trouble flushing out the fibre – they said hence in overload

As a chronically overweight person for many years I thought this may be of interest to others – it seems to explain the limited weight loss on many diets I have tried over the years

Great to read of everyone’s successes on the 21 days challenge

      Merry Christmas to you all

      1. phyllis

        Hi Cheryl
it can be a wake up call when we get told things like this from having tests. I hope that you continue on and seriously think about the 112 day Challenge as with all those health issues it’s time…. so if not with us then please with someone else! Remembering what lies below the surface can be more dangerous than above. I relate it to an iceberg. this could well be the tip only you are seeing so well done for taking action and doing something about it. I know from the interacting with your gorgeous daughter through the 112 day challenge that she would want her gorgeous mother around a for a long time to come. Enjoy being on nz soil again!

  86. Racheal

    Hi All,
Week 2 and I’m feeling better & better about the food. I find myself sorting out my lunches the night before which helps my morning time management.. its normally a panic race to get out the door, drop off kids and get to work on time every morning!! I have asked a few co workers to make me ‘gym accountable’ each week, which also helps. It really is all about time management for food & exercise. Seems I function better with structure, something I have just realised!!

  87. Katie English

    Hi Damian and Phyllis

OK – now I am beginning to really struggle as I am sooo hungry!! Had an early breakfast today – well for me anyway. (Business Networking Group!!) Fruit and yoghurt with a palmful of almonds and walnuts. It is now 9.40am and my stomach is really growling. HELP…… and if it gets too bad (like now) I get the shakes quite badly too. I am concerned that if I have my ‘snack’ now I am gong to be hungry again way before lunch time. :o(

I believe I am following the progrmme pretty much to the letter and this is not the first time I have found I am hungry.

Have benefits tho – sleeping really well for one! And headache mostly disappeared now.

    Katie.

    1. damian

      HI there Katie,

Some times people are not used to being hungry and the feeling of hunger for many people can be stressful. If you do get hungry, try to push through it with drinking water… if you can make it to the next meal that would be ideal… there is a lot of psychology in this… mental toughness. If you just cant get through to the next meal, add some nuts to a desert spoon of yoghurt and have that as a snack… just be careful though, if you do this and this becomes your new addiction… you are defeating the purpose of the 21 day challenge.

Another Alternative might be that the egg breakfast may be better suited to you, so you could switch to eggs every day if you like?…

      Damian

    2. Helen Goy

      Hi Katie
Try chewing gum when you are hungry or have your nuts but only eat one at a time and savour it.
Have your water bottle with you.
Don’t go hungry as I think you then over think about it too much.

      Hope this helps.
      From Helen

  88. Barbara Taylor

Too scared to weigh myself again after putting on a kilo but will wait until Saturday which is the end of Week 1. Glad strawberries are on special and so delicious – they make a great breakfast with fig and honey yoghurt.
Is tinned tuna in water ok?

    1. damian

      hi there Barbara,

how did you go!? did you lose weight?

Yes tinned Tuna in water is OK πŸ™‚

not too sure on the fig and honey yoghurt though… what is the nutrient analysis? FAT, Carbs and Protein? and what are the ingredients?

      Damian

    1. phyllis

      Hi Kerri
we lookiing into where the old comments have gone? as they installed a piece of software to help tag the answers to the questions but in doing so looks like they removed all the old comments. will come back to you

  89. kerri hansen

oh my god ! went late night christmas shopping last night at the mall which usually means food hall either macdonalds or kebabs with lots of cheese well i went to the japanese and had a chicken and stesmed vge dish no rice and a bottle of water it was delicious i am so pleased with myself

  90. Kararaina Walker

    Hi Damian,

The only frittata recipe I know uses cream. Can you please suggest a frittata recipe with in our food list?

    Thank you

    1. damian

      HI there Kararaina,

check out the members downloads area of the site πŸ™‚ my one has cream in it too, but it s great tasting and it works πŸ™‚

  91. Morrine Leach

Antipodes and lime pieces sounds great, thanx Damian, never tried it before so am looking forward to finding it – presumably supermarket. Day 5 – quite headachy could be a combination of rushing round. Sticking to programme though. Can certainly feel a difference round my middle. Great to see how you are all doing,

  92. kerri hansen

hi guys day ten for me i think no longer need to eat betweem meals just a few nuts which is great have been rewarding myself with things other than food bought a nice body loofer my husband has noticed my clothes looking a bit looser !had a funny day yesterday thinking whats the point so listened to the alison braun download again put me back on track .

    1. phyllis

      Hi Kerri
Great to see that you found a way to refocus! stay with it
i am feeling great myself and my clothes are looser which will be great for christmas day!

  93. Chontelle

Day 8 for me, so far I have lost 4 kilos but really fantastically I have lost 9cm from my waist and 4 cm from each of my thighs. I’m feeling really really pleased with myself. Hurt my knee really bad yesterday, but because of the fibro I knew it was not a permanent issue just a pain one, and I exercised my arms and stomach instead. I really am only doing light to moderate exercising (because I have to be careful) and I am still making very good progress. Knee is 10 times better this morning which means that this different diet (or nutrition) is really addressing some of the issues my body has had that affect my fibromyalgia, normally I would experience that pain for days on end. Oh and the acid reflux that I had really bad was gone practically day one.

    Thank you so much!

  94. Diana Schofield

Hi, the Colozone worked really well, headaches are now gone. The question is the ketostik still shows negative – what does that mean?

    Cheers

    1. damian

      HI there Diana,

it just means that you aren’t showing ketones in your Urine… but this doesn’t mean that you aren’t burning fat. πŸ™‚ are you losing weight?

  95. kerri hansen

another day of waking up feeling good mentally and pysically one o clock came yesterday and thought heck i better make some lunch normally i would have been thinking of nothing else since breakfast ! had a couple of people give me the once over at a birthday party so i told them what i have been doing will there be a post christmas blitz ? its funny its like when you are pregnant everyone has a comment and your right people are watching especially if youve always been on the bigger side

  96. Barbara Taylor

Ok week one down – but I’ve only lost 1/2kg….so hard to stay motivated.
Have been so good with food, loving my lemon water and all the strawberries plus even though I haven’t been walking I’ve been painting my house each day for 6 or 7 hours. Wish the body was as easy as getting the house sorted.

  97. Mrs JR McFadden

Just listened to the Mike Catton Download. I found this very interesting and helpful. I have been struggling with the exercise side of things and its definately a mindset problem. I love the idea of having an “inner athlete” inside! Its given me alot to think about. Will get the sports shoes out tonight so I go for a walk in the morning.

Made rocky road tonight for a family get together tomorrow and didn’t lick the spoon or anything!!!!!!! wow now thats a first. This self control or should I say self love is so surprising lol!

  98. Katie English

Firstly – getting very confused as the web site keeps changing………..??!!

Secondly………… YAY 2kgs lost in one week. OMG!!! Could not believe it when I got on the scales on Saturday morning – had to get on again to check. :o)

Now the next 5 days are going to be an even bigger challenge. BBQ last night which I just about got through. Really hard when everyone keeps saying 'oh you can start after Christmas – why are you doing it now' Grrrr……..

Today – hmmm, well. Family Christmas get together and roast dinner which I love……….. with the bread sauce and home made goodies. HEELLLLLPPPPPPPPP! lol.

No – will do my very best to stick to it as 2 kgs is a major achievement in my book!!

Next weigh in Christmas morning – and know the next couple of days will be a major challenge so maybe have to focus on what more I can do between now and then. Worry about Christmas day when I get there……….:o(

Good luck everyone and Merry Christmas.

    1. Phyllis

      HI Katy,
first well done with the 2 kilo loss, dont stress about the way the questions structure has changed, its to make it easier for us to have our reply right next to your question.
Two I can tell from your choice of words that you have not listened to Mike Cattons call, go have a listen, if you have , then have another listen.
Have a walk when you get up on christmas morning and that way you can start the day well prepared! there is plenty of food choices that are great on christmas day too! Well done again!

  99. Kylie

    Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to check in and say Hi!

I'm really excited about my weight loss – 3.8kg – I haven't weighed this much (or little!) since my before my daughter was born 3 years ago. It's been so hard losing that last pregnancy weight so this challenge has been awesome!

Just one question – what should we start adding back into our diets after the challenge ends on Thursday? I don't want to head down that slippery slope again and undo all my work πŸ™‚

    Cheers!
    Kylie

    1. Phyllis

      Hi Kylie
      well done with your loss!
      thats a decent amount
you can repeat the challenge up to 4 times a year and we will be sending out reminders from time to time
what amount of weight do you have still to lose total? if you have under 10 kilos you could look at the health club and if you have over 10 kilos you might like to look at the 112 day challenge as thats what we consider the programme thats changing peoples lives, http://www.112daychallenge.com

      1. Kylie Cosgrove

Thanks Phyllis! I’ve probably got around another 2-3kg to go. I’m under 60kg now which I’m really stoked about! πŸ™‚

I used to belong to the Health Club so I’ll look at that again.

        Cheers!

  100. Pamela

Oh dear – slipped quite a bit as there have been so many social activities on at this time of year. I have lost 3 kg though and seem steady at my new weight of 63kg. I am rather annoyed at myself as I have sort of given up until after Xmas when I will make a major effort to get back to the 56kgs which I really should weigh at my short height. I have my cousin's daughter's wedding in the UK next July and I WILL BE SLIM for it!!!

    1. Phyllis

You havent given up , you have deferred , just be careful that you dont use social occasions on the horizon to keep deferring as Kiwis are very social! we celebrate with food and drink anything that moves! all family events are around food so you do have to decide sometimes that your attendance is the giving of you , not the consuming of the food and drink, hope that makes sense. pick which one you are indulging in rather than all of them , be there ! by all means , just dont eat with no rules at all of them!

  101. kerrihansen

had a strange day yesterday just felt like picking lucky there was nothing to pick at . lots of people have said to me what a time to do it but i coulnt think of a better time because i just would have packed on a whole lot of extra weight .

    1. Phyllis

same as me! the best time is yesterday and the second best time is now! i am doing it now to and for me if i hadnt then i would have out kilos on with all the stuff going on, had staff notice today my loss already so its starting to show –

  102. Angela Cooper

    Hi,
Day 14 not as good a loss as last week, still lost 800gm though, so thats 3.6. Had my monthly though so maybe that was the problem.
Have found that I’m not needing food between meals which is great, just having a few nuts or fruit.
Will keep on track, try to fit in more exercise this week.

  103. Lee-Anne Clarke

Hey Damian/Phyllis, start of week 2 for me, I have had a weight loss of 1.6kg but have had weak moments mainly because of many whanau gatherings. I know, no excuse. Also had a bad day today but will get back on track tomorrow, period doesn’t help, neither does an injury so I cant get out and exercise. Wish my mouth had an injury! Am going to continue with challenge despite my setbacks. I just dont want to not complete this, its too easy to say “oh well next time…”

  104. kerri hansen

hi folks weighed in this morning 5 kilo loss so far only 10 to go so im nearly half way amazing what a diference 5 kilo makes to your clothes ill have nothing to wear by the end .my daughter all of 3 sugessted the ab flex pro she saw on tv to make my tummy go away i had to laugh. there has also been a lot less yelling in our house which has been nice my moods seem alot more balanced

    1. phyllis

thats great Kerri re the yelling , the thing is we dont realise how much our food effects our mood and that goes or adults and children. Nice to feel good isnt it and life is to short to yell at the ones we love πŸ™‚

  105. Morrine Leach

Hi guys, wishing you all the best for the Festive Season, and for those travelling – safe travel. Really enjoy all the comments. Day 9 for me and I have lost 2.5kgs and 2 inches round the middle so am thrilled to bits. BP well down from last check so that is a huge incentive and bonus. Going to be a real challenge from tomorrow on as we are travelling to family but intend to keep to it as much as I possibly can, not always easy in someone elses house ! Am taking the chilly bin as MY little fridge.

    1. phyllis

      Hi Morrine!
aren’t you glad you perserved πŸ™‚ well done you , love the feedback and safe travels to you too. I am travelling to Melbourne on the 31st December for Damian’s wedding on the 2nd of Jan , hope you are travelling somewhere fun , although being with Family is always good

        1. phyllis

          Hey
Im sure Damian would say thanks πŸ™‚ It’s a cloudy day in Melbourne today so I’m hoping for his and Amber’s sake the hot weather returns. Will post some pictures if I get a chance tomorrow πŸ™‚

    2. Chontelle

Hi Morrine, I’m also taking a big chilly bin for my fridge! We’re off on a big drive after christmas to stay at the family farm, I have to stock up for the trip and avoid the traditional lunchtime mcdonalds stop on the way, and also make sure I have access to the right food rather than the normal high fat high carbs food dished up at the farm. The good news is that running around the farm chasing alpacas is likely to increase the weightloss if I keep up with my food program. Keep up the good work!

      Chontelle

  106. kerri hansen

hey everyone just ticking along now still battling with the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other every now and again just wondering what happens when the 21 days is up im going to need some sort of closure .

    1. phyllis

Hi Kerri, not sure what you mean by closure? its a 21 day kick start programme , how much more will you have to lose?
dependant on that as to what you need to do next. over 10 kilos, there is the 112 day challenge programme , under there is the health club and of course you can have a wee break and repeat for say the february challenge, havent we talked about this before?

      1. kerri hansen

hi phyliss i have lost five another 10 to go the 112 day not an option at the momemt for financial reasons i will look into the health club . i just found it easier to stick to the challenge because i sort of felt accountable now i am worried about going straight back to old habbits .

        1. phyllis

          Hi Kerri
can totally understand that. Another option is to work on transferring your new habits into the next month after this and then repeat it again in February. If you were a heath clubber before you will have Damian’s DVD “The Palm Method” and that is a rally good tool to use for how to eat in everyday life πŸ™‚ well done you

  107. Mrs JR McFadden

    Hey everyone,

Weight loss to date has been good. Today though feeling very tired and lethargic…..have had a cold/virus thing so maybe its just taking its toll. Have been eating well which is good….but its very tempting to eat something sweet to pick myself up. I know eating sugar will only give me a temporary boost followed by an even bigger low, so I am off to drink some more water!

Any suggestions for days when your feeling blah??? I normally use chocolate!!!!

    Ta Julie

  108. kerri hansen

not happy about all this food being in the house for christmas .dont even give the sweet stuff a second glance which is great because im a chocoholic but the savory is singing to me . loudly ! i even had a hand full of chips in my mouth and then spat them out dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. dont want to blow it this close to the end.

  109. Clair

Just wondering also about this….has it been sent via email or something as I can’t see it anywhere on the downloads…am watching everyone’s post and starting after Christmas and thought this sounds like a brilliant tool…

Downloadable mp3 Recording ThreeTracey Mason from the UK is a successful Hypnotherapist who has specially designed this recording to be used each morning or evening whilst doing your 21 day Body Blitz Programme to get you out of bed raring to
go in the mornings with the right attitude and conviction to drive your success to Christmas day!

    1. phyllis

Hi Clair, we did post what happened with Tracy, she is however well and putting the recording together so it should be up by the end of the week Hope you are doing well

  110. Karyn Ackroyd

Hi i am trying to find the recipes that you talk about but i think i have lost my computer skills or something as they are missing in action, my computer died so i now have just got everything opened to look at starting, i figure better late than never, thanks Karyn

  111. Barbara

    Hi all – merry Christmas.
End of week 2 for me. I’m a slow loser as despite following the programme faithfully I’ve lost only 1kg so far. Do feel great tho! Yesterday I watched my portion sizes, skipped the pudding and made sure that before and after Christmas lunch I ate plenty of fresh fruit and veges. I’m determined to get to my ideal 58kg – have 6kg to go so will be continuing on past week 3 and into 2010.
Not missing the carbs – so easy with all the lovely fresh food at this time of year. Right off to nanny job now – might take the kids for a swim and keep active.

  112. Mrs JR McFadden

Well yesterday I let me hair down and enjoyed all that was on offer!……but my body was not that happy about it.

Woke during the night with indigestion and getting out of bed was not as easy this morning. I guess its good to be able to see the connection between what I eat and how it makes me feel.

Sipping my lemon water as I write and feelng better for it. Off to try out my new wii fit from Santa. Back on track today!!!!!! Will look into the health club!

Hope you all had a lovely x-mas time

    Julie

    1. phyllis

Hi Julie, yes we just working on it at the moment, the problem is Tracy is unwell and is not able to do a recording until after the 31st so we are working on a solution now. She has provided us with the embedded script so we can get the recording done and will gift you one after New years as as a bonus

  113. Phillipa

Hi all, Day 21 was yesterday and had a 4 kilo loss YIPEEE! Very happy with that. My husband had a 3 kilo loss. I thought he might have lost more than me but didn’t turn out that way. I hope to lose 2-3 kilos more so i have signed up for the Health Club. Thank you Phyllis and Damian for all the help and support.

    1. phyllis

Hi Phillipa, thats so awesome! keep up the good work, next time you and your husband are in the supermarket together, I would suggest you get 7 kilos of potatoes and just see how much that really is in weight, Imagine adding it back on to your body! great acheivement you two! Phyllis

      1. Cheryl Christie

        Hi Everyone

I have found it hard to get to an internet cafe since coming to NZ from HK and have been intermittent in checking in. Also with different scales in NZ it has been really hard to assess weight loss – a week ago it seems I had lost about 3 kgs and where I am staying today it seems it is closer to 5 kg – but I have lost 3 cm of my waist and 2 off my leg – really keen to do the next 21 day challenge too – Thanks everyone and special thanks to Phyllis and Damian for making this happen

Happy New Year everyone and may 2010 be the year we all reach our ideal weight, with good health and fitness too

        Cheers Cheryl

        1. phyllis

          Hey there Cheryl
I am in Melbourne today for Damian’s wedding and this is my first chance to get on the net! in this day and age you would think getting on would be a given but not so, im sitting in a gorgeous little laundry mat / cafe replying to all you guys πŸ™‚ well done ou with your loss and welcome to all the new people doing it in January

  114. phyllis

    Hi Julie
it has been typed straight on to the site for you now as you seem not to be able to download it
    enjoy! πŸ™‚

  115. Barbara

    Hi everyone
Love reading the comments – well done to those people who have lost kilos.
I’m struggling Damien and Phyllis to remain motivated as despite following the programme religiously (can list ‘extras’ on one hand – both from Christmas events) I’ve only lost 1kg. I am 7kg over my ideal body weight. Has anyone else had only a small loss?

    1. damian

      hi there Barbara,

thanks for your question. 7kgs is such a challenging amount of weight, its not in the obese range, its often associated with hormonal weight gain especially around the hips and thighs and often requires, a short burst of attention such as what you have just done, but also nutritional intervention. perhaps you could look at the 112 Day Challenge, so that i can give you more advice about how to get the rest of your weight off.

      regards

      Damian

      1. Barbara

Thanks Damien. I’d love to try the 112 day challenge but it would depend on cost – trying to finish my masters as as single mum makes ‘me things’ a challenge. Still watching portion sizes, sticking to basic programme but have had a couple of days with brown rice for dinner – about 1/2 cup. Is there anything else I should add heading into week 4?

        1. phyllis

Hi Barbara, yes I hear you with the single mum and studying! Remember though you are valuable to your family and to yourself so try to have some “me” things πŸ™‚
You could look at getting the first month of the health club and getting Damian’s Palm Method DVD as that is the base for all the programmes we do. It is healthy eating for good and for all the family, if you can’t afford the 112 day challenge programme. I am not sure how much weight you have to lose still Barbara.

  116. Nikki

    Hi
Day one (finally for me). Loved the food, not too bad, but a wee bit hungry ?due to eating loads over the past month (busy at work, not looking after myself). Weighed myself this morning, pretty close to heaviest ever and I have had three children? Best I continue…

    1. phyllis

      Hi Nikki
its a common theme amongst us woman! we think we can have it all and we can but we must remember that we have to come first sometimes! you go girl πŸ™‚

  117. Angela Cooper

    Hi all,
Have started the 21 day challenge again today.
The first one ended up being a 19 day challenge ending on xmas eve with a loss of 4.2kg, which I was really happy with.
However over holiday break I have gained 1.5 of that back.
I am determined to do better this time, I will continue to learn these new habits afterwards.
Congrats to Katie for winning the retreat.

  118. Morrine Leach

Hi Everyone, and CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU KATIE on winning the weekend in Wanaka, well done. I am still battling away, have only just got back into seriously doing the challenge after being away for two weeks (or was that too weaks), am just recovering from a middle ear infection which felt like a massive hangover without the fun of the party, it’s taking a while but feel much better than I did, and am looking forward to feeling really well once back into the eating regime. Hope you all have a successful and rewarding New Year – Cheers everyone, and thanks to Phyllis and Damian for all the effort they have put in for us, it is appreciated.

  119. Karen Lloyd

Well I am set and ready to lose some serious kg’s in the next 21 days. Have been to the markets this morning and picked up lots of yummy fresh veges then to the supermarket to pick up the remaining items. Tuesday is THE day I shift these last 10kgs once and for all, well maybe not the full 10kgs but half of that would be cool. Can’t wait to see in 3 weeks time what I achieve. I’ll be in touch with an update

  120. Jo

Hi, I signed up for the 21 day challenge on December 5th, but have only just managed to do day one today. I have 21 days left in January to achieve the challenge – so I’m very grateful that you extended the deadline date through to the end of January.

I’m a little sad/annoyed that I didn’t ‘just do it’ in December, but I’m here for the journey now. Eating and exercising well – Twenty Ten, here I come!

    Jo

  121. Julie McFadden

Just checking…..has the joint recording of Damian & Phyllis that was mentioned on the home page been posted?

Really interested in listening to your stories…

    Thanks Julie

  122. Katie English

    Hi Damian

I guess first off – congratulations on your wedding!! I hope that you had a truly wonderful day.

Secondly, I am about to go back into the 21 day challenge. I lost 2 kgs in the 10 days leading up to Christmas and have not really stuck to the plan since then. Holidays, Christmas etc all getting in the way……. However have not put on any of the weight I took off so very happy!!

A question – I ordered (and have received) some of the Colozone. I have been known to suffer with colitis and had some recurrence over the holiday. I am not sure what exacerbates this – could be dairy so cutting it out again. Do you think it will be ok to use this product given that I am suffering off and on with the colitis again. I dont see a doctor or take any medication as this is something I have had for many years off and on. I prefer to watch my diet and look after myself that way.

    Thanks Damian.

    Katie

    1. damian

      hi there Katie,

the Colozone will be totally fine with the colitis, it will probably help.

Have you watched the video that we sent out yet? because we haven’t heard from you! YOU NEED to watch it!

good luck on this 21 days program πŸ™‚

      1. Katie English

Oh My Gosh………. Thank you guys. Have been away and only just watched the video – prompted by Damian’s comments above :o)

YAY!!!! And yes Phyllis, not quite jumping up and down but certainly cheering and feeling very excited.

        Wow……….. can’t wait!!!

Just into the second 21 day regimen after the holidays and Christmas break. And just considering my fitness and weight loss goals for 2010. Timing could not be better….. Now motivated more than ever!!!

Looking forward to meeting you both – off to book a flight now……….

        Bye. :o) :o)

        1. phyllis

Please ring Emily before you book in the office on 03 3847451 as we like you to arrive at a certain time etc

  123. kerri hansen

hey phyliss and damian is there someone i can ring and have a chat about what i should do next i still have 10 or 12 kg to loose but its the same 10 kg ive been battling with for the last 8 or so years just want to ask a few questions about the 112 day challenge thanks. congrats to katie for winning the retreat enjoy !

    1. phyllis

      HI Kerri
yes you can visit the http://www.112daychallenge.com site or phone the office on 03 3847451 and chat with Emily. Emily has done the challenge so can answer everything, I am out of the office for a bit longer, let get tose 10 to 12 kilos sorted once and for all! The 112 day challenge will teach you long term permanant strategies to getting the weight off and keeping it off, and you will always be in control of your own weight loss journey therefore never having to worry about not knowing what to do when and if you wobble. We were going to send an email out letting you all know about the February challenge coming up, but with Damians wedding and myself sneaking in a much needed break πŸ™‚ its been all go. There are testimonals on the site as well you could go listen to and anyone of them would be happy to chat with you

  124. Diana Schofield

Thanks for the Tracy Mason recording, she is great. Pls let us know if she comes to NZ. cheers

    1. phyllis

HI Diana, yes she is wonderful! I am doing training myself in this field at the end of the year so you will hear if I manage to get Tracy over

  125. Dee havebond

Hi guys is it ok to use AIM Herbal Fibreblend on the 21 day challenge? It gives you energy and helps the digestive system…just checking otherwise I’ll need to get the colon stuff πŸ˜‰

    1. damian

hey Dee, yeah you could use it, i am not sure if it will alter the results of the program though, i haven’t tried it with anyone though… you could be the first

  126. Karen Lloyd

Day 3 completed and 100% on target, can’t wait to see the results come next Tuesday night.

However, sorry for posting this, but my you-know-what has turned a greenish colour! Is that right Damian. Tonight is my last night of Colon Clean, have “emptied” 3 times over the past 3 days.

  127. Sheree

Hi, my husband and I are doing this together and we are on day 7 today. Have had some weight loss from both of us, which we are pleased with. I am finding I am very tired and have little energy, hope this improves soon as I have a 2 year old and she tires me out running after her, but otherwise ok.
Do we stay with the same food list for the 21 days or do we start adding some food in?

    1. damian

hi there Sheree, please stay with the same food. you should start to have heaps of energy, though some people stay in detox for longer than others. may i suggest that you take a B vitamin supplement if you are exhausted. regards Damian

  128. Karen Lloyd

The end of Day 6 and 2.6kgs down. Happy to have finished the Colon Clear and rapped with my results so far. Sticking to the food list and drinking gallons of water compared to normal. Feeling great and looking forward to next week’s weigh in. Why didn’t I do this sooner??!!

    1. phyllis

πŸ™‚ Im just glad you did and well done with the awesome weight loss! I know you have been working hard πŸ™‚

  129. Leanne Mckendrick

Day 8 and weighed myself yesterday morning and Yay!!! 3.7 kgs lighter and I feel like a new person already. Thanks for all the really inspirational videos. Just a couple of questions? Do you have to use the colon clear for 4 days? I didn’t want to do it sunday night because of the feeling in my tummy. And what do I do after the 21 days are up? I have plenty more to lose?? And if I am really hungry can I eat an apple? thanks for the opportunity as soon as I read the email and info I knew this was for me. cheers πŸ™‚

    1. phyllis

      Hi Leanne,
the feeling in your tummy is probably quite normal when taking colon clear! I have used it myself! After the 21 days are up , depending on how much you have to lose you could look at the 112 day challenge if you have more than 8 – 10 kilos to lose and are deadly serious about weight loss with life change. or under that you could look at the health club , call Emily in the office if you wish to chat about it, 03 3847451 . well done with the 3.7 kilos you! The 21 days is to get y0u kick started and to show you what is possible! Visit http://www.112daychallenge.com to see some success stories, many more but no time at moment to get them up, we will work on this over the next month. Opps and the next 112 day challenge starts on the 2nd Feb

      1. Leanne Mckendrick

A massive thanks to both Damian and Phyllis. I finished the 21 Day Challange more than two weeks ago and are continuing to lose weight because it has changed the way I think and eat. I am really enjoying what I eat and how I eat. The most important thing that I learnt during the 21 Day Challange is ” I can do it” Last weigh in 9.1 kgs lighter. My New years resolution was “no more excuses” Love the exercise. Swimming, Walking and soon Biking. Life is so much more fun and exciting now. So thanks once again for the opportunity and for changing my life. πŸ™‚

        1. phyllis

thanks for taking the time to write and thank us! it reminds Damian and i why we do what we do, how much more weight do you have to go and what city are you in Leanne, would love you to come say hi to us both when we are doing a power of food in your city, this will be the one and only for us this year , touring is very time consuming and takes us away from our families. can i ask to use what you have said as a testimonal when we send out, would also love to see a before and after picture. i am presuming something in one of the recordings struck a cord with you? love to know which and what! well done to you!!! xx Phyllis and Damian

          1. Leanne Mckendrick

Hi Phyllis, Yes you are welcome to use my comments. I have now lost 11.4 kgs and still on track. I do have a lot to lose. I live in Dunedin and Yes I will definitely come and say hi when you are in Dunedin. I would love to have done the 112 day challange but decided that I had too many other financial commitments this year that took a higher priority. I guess it all seem to make so much sense and once you start to lose the weight you just want to keep going. I have told as many people about both the challanges and hope that they might also try it as well. thanks once again
            regards

          2. phyllis

Hi Leanne, you can click on becoming an affliate and send your friends a link that will tell us they came from you and then you can get paid for every person you refer , let me know if you need any support with that. We like to thank people who believe in what we do and so that’s our way of saying thanks for helping share this important health message!

  130. Phillipa

    Hi,
Wonder if you can help me, i signed up for the health club back on 27 December after i completed my 21 days to change. I haven’t received the DVD on the Palm Method as yet and now today i cannot log on the the health club site as it says i have reached my daily logon limit. Could you please help with these issue i would much appreciate it.
    Phillipa

    1. phyllis

  131. Lyn Meinders

Hi Damien & Phyllis…..Congrats Damien on your wedding and a belated Happy New Year to you all…..
Have just given myself some time to actually read some of the comments……WOW…how awesome people have been doing….well done….
I have been in the “deferred” category….doing great for a week….loosing…then deferring….yoyoing I would call it….however….am totally on track now and enjoying the food I am eating and am also very aware that I am making different choices in food when I am out which is a big step for me…..am looking forward to getting on the scales on Monday morning and seeing what they register….Am also going to “make time” on Monday to listen to the down loads….I guess it is “better late than never” to hook into this…..
Well done everyone who hooked into this earlier and have had some awesome results…..

    1. phyllis

yes to never start is the biggest diservice you can do yourself so well done for starting, avoid that Yo Yo okay, worse thing you can do for your body x

      1. Lyn Meinders

Hey Damien….did well with the weigh in…lost 2 kg’s however have been on holiday since and didn’t do all that well although only put on 500gms while away…..am getting back into it all…

  133. Nicole Bush

    Hi Damian

I have finally decided to do this 21 day to change. Yes a bit late but hey you cant rush the big jobs. Hehe. First day was last wed. Anyway I have just received the oil and was wondering how much we should take as I can’t seem to find how much we take?

    Cheers
    Nicole

  134. Pippa Midgley

Whoa, it must be said, this does require a committment (i am quite over eggs for breakfast every day!) however, I am persisting and have achieved great results 3.5kgs in just over 1 week! WHOOO! I look certain to hit my goal for the wedding in 3 weeks!

  135. Linda

    Hi Damian

Could you clarify which liquid omega 3 oil to get from metagentics they have several different products and asked me to check to specific product name

    Thanks
    Linda

  136. Angela Lunjevich

Hi there, Any suggestions for snacks in the evenings? this is the time i find the hardest, i try to go to bed early to try and curb it!! but its always after dinner i start feeling really snacky, any advice would be great, its a area i really struggle with

    1. damian

      Hi there Angela,

Try to avoid snacks in the evenings if you can… if you can over come this mental challenge in the 21 days you have MASTERED control of food. if you must have a snack, have a couple of almonds… like 4 or 5.

try exercising at night… do a little walk if you can.

      Damian

  137. Amanda Carter

Just received products and ready to get stuck in now. I took me a while to process and understand all the info but commitment and knowledge is there. I have family support now to which is a great thing to have!!

  138. Gillian Robbie

I am about to finish the 21 Days to Change and continue on the 112 Day Challenge. When I start to eat as per the 112 Day Challenge, if my ketosis stick readings are still in the range of 1.5 to 4 will I need to continue with the Uroplex? Will I lose more weight by having ketosis readings of 1.5 to 4 rather than 0 to 1.5?

    1. damian

Hey Gillian! how did you go? ketosis indicates that you are producing ketones and this in some circle is an indicator of fat burning. its not super sustainable though it is very safe for short amounts of time and in low level ketosis such as .5 and 1.5. If you are producing ketones in that range in the 112 Day Challenge, you are doing a great job! πŸ™‚ SURELY YOU CANT LOSE ANYMORE WEIGHT THOUGH!?

      1. Gillian

I have lost 5 kgs on the 21 days and feel wonderful & very motivated. The 21 day challenge has been a great kick start for the year. I am now on the 112 day challenge – still enjoying all the fresh food and loving the wider variety of food.
Thank you Damian & Phyllis for your excellant program. πŸ˜‰

  139. Paula

When you mention Full Cream yoghurt, is this to count out “Lite” or lowfat varieties deliberately and specifically. I have always chosen the lowfat yoghurts assuming these would be best. Looking for a lead on this before I go shopping. Thanks

    1. damian

hi there Paula, yes… try to avoid the Lite stuff, this means that you get a less processed version. BUT… don’t eat too much of the full fat either… all Dairy should be consumed in small amounts as an accompaniment to meals.

  140. Sheree

Hi everyone, well my husband and I have completed the 21 days and have been very pleased with the results. I lost 4kgs and my husband lost 9kgs. We stuck religiously with the program, and walked 30-40 mins every day. It has changed both our eating habits for the better, and we are sure we will continue to look after health and eat better.
I found the 21 day blitz advertisement while surfing Facebook, and glad I took the time to look at it. I do feel it helped that we were both doing it together, we motivated each other.

    1. phyllis

thansk Sheree for your feedback and it is soo much better when you have support and can support someone so husband and wife combinations work well
would you be open to us using what you just wrote as a testimonal for the programme.

  141. Karen Lloyd

    Hey!

Finished the 21 days yesterday, lost 2.6kgs in total which I am rapped about. I found that during the 21 days my attitude and perception of food has changed, the chockie bikkies no longer have any appeal and I can now down at least 2.5 litres of water a day with very little effort. Had I known about the challenge earlier I would have jumped on board then. It certainly has changed my thinking and given me that extra boost to keep going to lose these last 9kgs once and for all.

Thanks for all your help and support, this is truely an amazing way to start ones weight loss journey or to help kick it back into gear. It’s so simple, it really is.

    Karen

Just at the end of day six, and realised I have not had a coffee for more than a week! and do not miss it – even better. And I believe I feel better as a result. Not hungry at all, and love the fact that so far I have maintained my will over my “mind-appetites”. In fact on Friday I attended an afternoon function and coped with just the platter of capsicum, cucumber, tomatoes and olives. Good catering to have that available there for me, I thought. The plate of slices and chocolate eclairs did not tempt me at all. Maybe it is true that you can create a new habit in just 21 days. Thank you Damian and Phyllis for making this not just possible but even easy for me – so far at least.

  143. Sally Russell-Douglas

    Hi Phyllis or Damian

Am on day 5 – lost 3lbs and feeling less hungry between meals. Loving the meals but just had a few questions – Looking at the menus – can you substitute tuna for the chicken at lunch time? Also can you have cups of tea (no milk or sugar)?
Do you follow the 7 day menu planner exactly for the whole 21 days (just repeat the weeks) or can you have say a couple of days of yoghurt with fruit instead of the eggs for breakfast?

Thanks have seen great results so far and just looking for a bit more guidance,

    1. damian

      Hey Sally,

great work! is that 3lbs or 3kgs? either way… awesome! you can follow the planner to the letter if you like. i like to do things that way… but if you want yoghurt and fruit you can do that… it may slow your fat loss down… but it may not have any effect at all. The tea is absolutely fine and the chicken absolutely! πŸ™‚

    2. Cheryl Christie

      Hi Sally and All

Not sure how to get onto the forum so replying to you Sally – well done with weight loss – I was down 4 kgs this morning but not sure what day it is for me! – I do love this clearer head with ketosis even if I don’t know what day it is! I amaze myself at time when I realise I haven’t been thinking about food for 3-4 hours – generally before every task was interrupted by thoughts of what food can I have next!

      Feeling really powerful and focused

      Cheers everyone

      Cheryl

  144. Sally Russell-Douglas

    Hiya Damian

Day 10 now and going great my moods are so much better that they have ever been, and my energy levels are amazing. My mind is so alert and am sleeping much better. Have lost another 4lbs – making total so far of 7 lbs (or 3kgs amazing!!) Just got a bit of a request – it’s snowing here again in Scotland and I was wondering if there are any soups I could have instead of a salad (just to warm me up !!) I used to make your chicken one from your downsize me receipe book and was wondering if this could be used occassionally? If not no worries I’ll just eat my salad cuddling a hot water bottle !!

    Thanks again

    1. damian

Hey Sally! yeah get all of the veggies that you are allowed and boil them all up with some stock (home made of course) or use some organic Tamari to bring out some saltier flavours and go for it. Through some chicken in or some lamb and when it is boiling hot still in you bowl, drop an egg in there… its awesome!

I love how you are feeling and i am sure that his is how so many other feel Sally. Would you be ok with us using your testimonial?

      1. Sally Russell-Douglas

        Hiya Damian,

Thanks for all your help thus far, no probs with you using me for a testimonial

        best wishes

    2. Cheryl Christie

That’s great Sally 7 lb – you must be stoked – snowing in Scotland! a work colleague just came back from a wedding in London and she said it was soooo cold – she had to rub her mouth to make it work to ask for a train ticket! keep it up and I’m sure soup is required in that climate – let’s see what Damian says

      1. Cheryl Christie

        Hi Damian and Phyllis

I bought garlic brocolli on the way home last nite to go with my dinner – have asked if they put MSG in it and got a negative reply – but it probably has something else in it as I grank 4 glasses of water before bed and my bladder didn’t wake me up last nite – any advice? COOK AT HOME!!!

        Cheryl

        1. damian

          yeah cook at home!

MSG has changed names… look for these number 635, 621, 627. they are all the same and very bad!

    3. Catherine Christie

      Hi all

just thought i would say hi, altho im not to sure how to make my own entry – other than reply to someone else.

I been reading through and people are doing great.

I do have one question – ive come up in little pimples all over my upper thigh –

      Cat HK

  145. Susan

    Hi Damian,

I was wondering how long it “should” take before you reach the 1.5 – 4 mark on the Kitostix – I’m on day three and am still in the 0.5. Also are equal tablets “allowed” in your coffee?

    Many Thanks, Susan

    1. damian

Hey Susan, it should take about 2-3 days to be at 1.5-4, perhaps you may be eating a little too much? maybe? equal is pretty toxic and very bad for your health. there is a product that we have at slim you called Natvia. this is a very safe and natural sweetener, it tastes great too. http://www.natvia.co.nz

      1. Susan

Thanks Damian, I will cut back on the food and see if it makes a difference. Does having alot of exercise make a difference I go to the gym every day and someone mentioned that I might be doing to much…?

        1. Susan

Hi Damian, sorry to be a pain but I have a couple more questions. Ok so I am on week 2 now and have managed to loose some weight but my ketostix results are still on 0.5, seeing that I am loosing weight should I not worry about this? Also I don’t have my oil in the morning other than the salmon oil, is this ok or should I have my other oil in the morning too. Many Thanks πŸ™‚

          1. damian

Thats all good Susan, but you will lose more if you have your oil in the morning. πŸ™‚ well done!

          1. Susan

            Hi Damian,

I do 60 min of cardio and 10 min of free weights. I thought lots of exercise is good for ya… I’m confused πŸ™‚

          2. damian

that exercise sounds great to me Susan. Sometimes people cant get to higher levels of Ketosis and they still lose lots of weight. This could be you.

  146. Catherine Christie

Hi I think I may have worked out how to add a comment.

I have a small problem – I have a friend who is turning 40 tomorrow and its Thai – last minute surprise

Help – im already on my second start due to engagement celebration and friends.

    1. damian

be careful!… eat what you know you shoul… stay away from roti and rice… the rest should be ok… oh… no pad thai

      1. Catherine Christie

Thanks Damian I had a great night out

As for the pimples they are still are little come and go –

          1. damian

are you still losing weight Cat? if so… your pimples could be a clearing thing or an allergy… if not… you could be eating the wrong foods???

  147. Andrea Fale

If I buy the colon cleanse does that mean I need to also do the magnesium powder as well? I don’t want to double up. Alos is grape seed oil ok as a fat? Thanks, Starting this week. Here I go !

    1. damian

Hey Andrea, I am sorry i thought that i answered this… but i cant find my answer… i must have dreamt it.

The Magnesium oxide/Colon Cleanse is very different to the other magnesium powder that you are referring to. Colon Cleanse drags water with it out through the Colon. The other magnesium will drag water with it across the gut membrane… πŸ™‚ one is good for moving the bowels and the other is great for rehydrating your body.

  148. Chontelle

Hi guys, great to see everyone is doing so well. I am doing the challenge this month for the second time, I did the first challenge b4 xmas. I had great success in the first challenge, although in the 3rd week, I only lost 0.8kg because I was at my parents house for that week of the holidays and despite best intentions, and taking my own food, I was not in complete control of my own meals and found it difficult. So after I got back home, I did the last week again (which would have been week 5) and in total for my 3 weeks I lost 8-9 kilos. (I like to say 9, but my weight fluctuates daily.) (you can see by the total weight loss, why I knew that .8kg in one week wasn’t on par with the earlier 2 weeks.)

Now I am doing it for the 2nd time and I am on day 3 and I have hit the 60’s! Meaning I am no longer 70 point something kgs, I am below 70! woot! I love this diet, it is healthy, energising and it works. I am never going to be above 70kg’s again. I grew up skinny and believe it or not used to take weight gain protein powder, as a young adult to try and gain weight because of how skinny I was. Once I got ill, over time I gained and gained and then it got out of control. Once I reached a tipping point, nothing I did could get rid of the weight. My doctor diagnosed me with polycystic ovaries (among other things) and said that in that condition, my body likes to be overweight and tries to keep me that way. I have been trying to lose weight for the last 3 years, and when I tried this and actually had some results and the fat came of so fast i was so impressed. I have a ‘doo’ in 3 weeks and am hoping to wear a dress that I last wore on my 25th birthday. (I turn 35 soon).

I write this because I want to encourage people to really stick to the diet and and really believe in themselves. I am not a confident person and my weight and illnesses have made me even less confident, but I think I have had such success on this diet, that I want people who have been or are like me, to really understand that things can get better. Although as I write about how good I am doing it feels like bragging. πŸ™ And I totally understand that many people are fighting a weight gain much higher than my own.

I found that I lost quite a significant amount in the first few days and I put that towards the complete removal of salt. (I love salt)

This time around I haven’t done the gut prep stuff, because I haven’t been eating bad in the interim since the last time I did the diet and I don’t think I need too. (I hope thats right).

I also found once not on the diet that breads and cereals don’t work very well with me, they make me lethargic and upset in the tummy. Something I never noticed before, so I think I may have an intolerance, therefore I steer clear of them 95% of the time.

Thank you so much Damian and Phyllis! and Phyllis I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you on your email back in January!

Start Weight before xmas 79.9kgs today’s weight 69.8kgs. And this is the most impressive part, 16 cms of my stomach, (yes thats right 16 cms!) and 6 cms of each of my thighs.

Oh and I actually go to the beach and ‘run’ (only a little bit with walking in between, because I’m totally unfit, but I haven’t ‘run’ since I was about 18.

I would do a before and after photo, but quite frankly I’ve avoided the camera for 3 years. Although I could show my awful, awful passport photo! πŸ™‚

    Cheers Everyone!

    Chontelle

    1. damian

      Dear Chontelle,

Thank you so much for sharing your success! well done! your results are outstanding and you should celebrate. This is exactly the type of program that i would recommend for some one with PCOS. Phyllis and I are absolutely wrapped for you!

Are you happy for us to share your feedback as a testimonial?

      kindest regards

      Damian

      1. Chontelle

Hi Damian, of course you can use my feedback as a testimonial, it is the least I can do.

        Cheers

        Chontelle

      2. Cheryl Christie

        Hi Damian and Phyllis

Now I know this is not the programme but I want to get somewhere here so here goes.

Yesterday in ketosis I had a 3 hour morning meeting – the leader bought unlimited muffins in three variations – I took water and my cucumber and raw carrots to eat – was not mentally fighting it with the temptation of muffins and plates of chocolate and lollies – I did positon the muffins and lollies away from me – but it was not at all a problem – I had prepared mentally for this situation – I have been saying an affirmation with a goal weight 7 kgs lower than I was as that seems believeable for me. This was all no big issues and a major first for me to be able to do this.

Unexpectedly at 5.15 pm a colleague asked me to a photographic exhibition which I accepted – Unfortunately hadn’t eaten my green salad of brocolli etc at lunch time – so was getting hungry – and was excited about going out as have been working hard and was getting to be a boring person – so off we went – the wine was free – oops two large red wines later – many hors d’oevres later and some sweet ones too!!! – (I did not eat the circular bread base after five salmon ones!) and then adjoining for dinner I didn’t need (Chicken and vegetables) – and two cappachinos to sober and wake up to get home etc!!! I am two kgs up this morning.

Now this is a repeated pattern of my life – one dinner out and up 1-2 kgs – then 4-5 days to take it off to be back to square one. Now I don’t think what I ate even weighed two kgs but …..

If I go out I don’t put on weight if i eat salmon and vegetables – no potato or rice.

Now the ‘no planning impromtu aspect of this nite’ was a factor in this and we had a fun nite socially – so I am not beating myself up as I used to do – I needed the blow out in fun and relaxation – can anyone give me a step up on handling this situation better?

          1. Cheryl Christie

Thanks Damian – and this morning I was 1.3 down – making a blinkin liar of me claiming yesterday it would take 4-5 days to get it off – not complaining though – it seems to be fluid too – but the effect of not beating myself up too??????? – I think Depak Copra talks about this – okay weighing once a week it is Thanks Damian

  149. Sally Russell-Douglas

    Hi

Just finished my 21 days today – lost a total of 5kgs ( awesome) am now 58kgs. Am really nervous though about what to eat now – don’t want to balloon back up. What do I do now is there another plan I can follow? How do I introduce bread and pasta etc.. again or are we still not allowed these things. Any advice would be appreciated as I’m a bit lost.

    Thanks
    Sally

    1. damian

      hi there Sally,

you should be able to introduce grain based carbs back in to your eating program one at a time a couple of times per week. start small and see what happens πŸ™‚ congratulations! πŸ˜‰

  150. Susan

    Hi,

Well my body has gone all Plato on me this week I haven’t lost a sausage… Help!!

      1. Susan

Hi Damian, indeed I have its been on negative the whole week, I didn’t go to the gym last week, could be the reason..?

        1. damian

hey Susan, the plan its self will allow rapid fat loss with out exercise unless exercise is something that you normally do. you shouldn’t need to do anything above or beyond the amount of exercise that you normally do, however more is always great.

Women can have hormonal fluctuations that may influence weight loss, don’t despair at this stage, see what it says next week. If you are eating well and following the plan things should improve. Negative in the ketostix indicates that you are eating too much.. this could be a problem.

  151. Roberta

I am one very happy gal at the end of week 1 of the 21 day challenge. I weight 2 kgs lighter & my hips/waist/chest measurements are 2cm smaller. Yay for me! πŸ™‚

    1. Roberta

No change this week…same weight as last week’s weigh in & measurements back to original! πŸ™ Haven’t done anything differently….so why??

  152. April

    Hi

Currently on Day three of 21 day Challenge and feeling better for it already.
Question. Do I still need to take 30mls of extra virgin olive oil per meal even though I am taking fish oil capusles with every meal.
    Thank you.

    1. damian

Hi there April, great question about the oil. yes it is best to continue with dietary oils as well as supplemental oils. The omega 6 EFA’s in the olive oil are terrific for the body when uncooked, and the omega 3’s from the fish oil are brilliant uncooked too.

  153. Alida Olckers

    Hi Damien Phyllis
I would like to know if I could have some
flavoured yoghurt instead of plain yoghurt?

    1. damian

hi there Alida, with regards to the yoghurt, give it a try. see how it affects your results. Most natural yoghurts with fruit on top should be ok.

  154. Alida Olckers

    Hi Damien and Phyllis
Been on the diet for a week now and just wondering if I would be able to access this site once im done with the 21 days as I would love to. It encourages me.
    Thanks

    1. damian

HI there Alida, The site is definitely always available for the 21 days as this program is a “21 days to change” program. its not intended to be followed for longer than 21 days, albeit you may do it for longer, its not our intention. If you need to lose more weight, we suggest the 112 Day Challenge, http://www.slimyou.com as this is a 16 week coaching and mentoring program that is designed to ensure that you get the weight off and develop the mindset to maintain and develop successful habits. At some point the 21 days to change website will become unavailable unless you have a current 21 days to change/body blitz membership running. For now though πŸ™‚ enjoy.

Alida, our health club on the SLim You site is free from the 1st of April, this might help you too.

      Damian

  155. Susan

    Hi Damian

How would you measure your potion size for e.g. home made soup or beef stew? Would a cup be a serving?

    Many Thanks
    Susan

    1. damian

hi there Susan – sorry for the delay – the amount of soup should be the amount that would be equal to the size/volume of your 2 fists put together – palms together – this is usually a good size bowl. πŸ™‚

  156. mahanae

hey guys, finished the 21 day challenge a few weeks ago lost nearly 4kgs and cms so im now 67kgs. still eating healthy and feel great have kept the weight off since ive finshed and slowly losing weight each week, will let you know when i get to 65 not much to go now,, thanks guys

ow and what do i do with the uroplex can i keep taking it and how often shud you use to coloncleanse, in a few months again???

    1. damian

      Hey Mahanae,

Congratulations! great work – that is a nice clean out! – keep taking the Uroplex – it will only help you. and you can take the colozone for a few days every month if you need a bit of a clean out. it is very safe.

      WELL DONE.

      Damian

  157. Carolyn

    Hi Damian

I’m just about to begin the 21 day blitz and was wondering about using the colozone.

I have a sensitive intestines/bowels after having my gallbladder removed last year in December – anything can trigger loose motions – even having fresh fruit salad for breakfast (I haven’t tried this for breakfast for 3-4 months now so that reaction may have changed).

If taking the colozone will give me loose motions in the morning will this cause any major issues with the health of my intestines/bowls

    1. damian

      hi there Carolyn,

great question – could you take 1/2 of the prescribed amount please? the full amount may be a little too much for you.
great choice to do this challenge, it will help you greatly – the 112 Day Challenge will be great for you too to help manage your post surgical limitations.

      kind regards

      damian

  158. Alicia

    Hi Damian and Phyllis
Just a quick note to let you know that the 21 day challenge is great! I started the challenge during study break and it did make essay writing an extra challenge without being able to snack on junk! I’m two weeks into it and not that my main aim was weight loss but I’ve lost 2cm off each thigh and 3cm off my waist. My main aim was to feel happier and healthier inside and have more energy, all of which have definitely been achieved. It has also changed my view on junk food which no longer appeals at all! So I just wanted to say Thanks! πŸ™‚

    1. admin

Hi Alicia, thanks for the feedback! Damian and I were wrapped when we read how well you are doing and the fact that you are breaking the habit of mindless eating when studying! way to go! The facts are you will produce greater results with a clear brain not fogged by the chemical reactions that junk food has on it! can we use your words as a testimonal to let others know about this programme , what are you studying by the way? Phyllis

      1. Alicia

        Hi Phyllis
Thanks for your reply and feel free to use my words, I think it’s a great programme. I’m doing a post grad dip in Language Teaching – it’s very full on so the extra energy I have from doing the challenge is great!

  159. Karen Lloyd

    Hi Damian,

Have hooked up with a friend and started the blitz today. Just wanted to confirm, if not exercising in the morning, is it just the lemon/water followed by breakky a little later with the berries/yoghurt only needed if exercising first thing then breakky later?

  160. Susan

    Hi Damian,

I love fruit flavored tea but am worried that it might contain sugar. I have tried to get information online about it but have had not luck. As I have been trying to cut back on my coffee intake I have been drinking more fruit tea than usual so is fruit flavored tea ok to drink?

    Many Thanks
    Susan

  161. Liz T

    Hi Damian

I am wanting to know if I’m able to eat porridge on the 21 day blitz. I really bored wth eggs, I’m only mayb to have a couple a wk. Not every day. Not willing to pay out more for the other cereal. WBC. So is there anything else I can have. I need something to help me feel fuller longer. Plus I’m training for my first half ironman. I need lots of help wth my food so I can stick to a good eating plan. So I have unfortunately haven’t started yet. Wth my 21days. I have everything except breakfast. Mayb afew diff lunch and dinners 2plse. I hav the pdf of the weekly eating plan. Will start Mon coming. Cheers if you can help me out. I’m a big fan of the down size me:)

    1. damian

HI there Liz. Thanks for your question – its important for the 21 days to change program to be effective that you follow the meals specified in the planner for it to work the best – Porridge isn’t there because it doesn’t assist the body to achieve great fat loss in this program – once you get started you will see how good you feel and you wont be concerned. WBC is the best cereal to have in this regard for the program. HOw much weight do you need to lose Liz?

      1. Liz T

Only about 3kgs. Just to kick start. Thanks for that, now I know. Porridge out for now.

  162. kimj

Hi, I completed the 21 day challenge in May. Well I actually only did 17 but had fantastic results. Lost 3kg and 5cm around my waist (my problem area after 2 kids). Since completing it I have nearly lost a further 1kg sticking to good portion sizes and cutting down on my carbohydrates. Only another 2kg to go to my goal weight of 60kg!! Thanks guys for a great challenge.

    1. damian

      Well Done KimJ!

Thats a great result and we’re wrapped for you that you got a great result!

      Damian

  163. Love Sms

I have read many site to lose weight but my own experience says that walking 45 minutes a day is also powerful. It aids to maintain the metabolism effectively.

  164. Body Core Strength

The main focus for losing weight should always be your eating habits. Whether you’re exercising or not, you can control your weight through your diet. If you exercise on top of it, you will just maximize everything.

  165. Katherine

Hi, I am four days into the programme and the ketostix have all been negitive so far. According to the scales I have lost 2 kgs so shouldn’t I be in the fat burning range. could I be doing something wrong?

    Thanks

    1. damian

      Hey Katherine,

Congratulations – Ketostix can be used to indicate fat burning – but they aren’t the only indicator of success. Many people will burn 0 or .5 on the ketostix and lose substantial amounts of weight/fat.

      Keep up the great work!

      Damian

    2. Paula Breen

Hi there. I have downloaded one menu plan – are there any others on the site?
      Thanks

      1. damian

hey Paula. There are menu planners for the 21 days on the site. MOre men plans are available on the 112 Day Challenge. how’s your program going?

  166. scottie

Hi, I dont like veges except for peas, carrots, is there a diet programme for those who dont like to eat veges, thanks

  167. marybw

I’m getting close to the end of my 21 days and I’m doing ok, but I’m wondering how to re-introduce carbs when I’m finished. I don’t usually use much anyway – becos I’m gluten free, I tend to stick to rice crackers and corn thins rather than bread – that kind of thing.
    What is your recommendation anyway?

    1. damian

Hi there Marybw,I just wanted to suggest that you look at the health club as this will give you great insight to foods etc to get you back on track with respecting carbs. Its a tricky introduction – its worth starting with a few rice crackers and seeing how you go and then increasing your carb intake in meals that are higher in protein before trying to introduce them too much. Damian

  168. Lisa Evans

    Hi guys

I am on day 2 of the challange and feeling great already but just wanted to know if grapefruit is ok to eat on the 21 day challange, I know its not on the list for fruit but always thought this was a “good” fruit as such.

    1. damian

Hey Lisa, great question. you could have grapefruit and yep it is an awesome fruit. Its not part of the 21 Days to Change, so you if you do it, it will be on top of your normal or allowed foods list – this may affect your results… may be good or bad.. .let us know :)!

    1. damian

HI there Germaine – you may not need snacks between meals. in fact most people do better with out snacks. if you need a snack – use some grapes or a tin of tuna or small salad with some protein and oil.

  169. Elise Flanagan

Hi There I just started the challange today and was wondering if I have avocado in my meal do I have to add fat or oil as well?
Also about palm size do you measure protein just by the surface area of your palm or by palm thickness aswell?

    1. Elise Flanagan

Also can you please tell what kind of oil is best for you skin. Ive had 3 babies in the space of 3 years and have quite a streched tummy and dont want it to go all saggy as I loose weight

      1. damian

hi there Elise – all oils are going to have benefit for your body – and just keeping your protein and fat intake up will help to rebound your skin. Fish oil is best though πŸ™‚

    2. damian

Hi there Elise – welcome aboard! you measure your protein with the thickness of your palm, great question and if you have avocado, yes please still add oil πŸ™‚ avocado is a bonus!

  170. Fiona Calvert

Hi there – I am just about to start the 21 day challenge. I was just wondering how beneficial it is to take supplements? Will slow my weight loss down if I don’t take any? I really hope that this works, I am tired of doing fad diets and desperately need to loose the weight.

    1. damian

Hi there Fiona – good luck with the 21 Days! i am sure it will be great for you. The 21 Days is a system that is designed to help you get fat off fast. it is a fad of sorts, not a lifestyle – its only for 21 days. if you are looking for a long term solution you need to do the 112 Day Challenge – this is not a fad – this is a lifestyle intervention program. The supplements are the support for the program – the program works really well if you do it 100%.

  171. Susan Edwards

    Hi,
Day 5 of the 21 day plan and I have been losing weight and going great until today. Suddenly the fruit muffins and afghan biscuits I baked for the kids seem to be calling my name so I thought I’d sit down and read through some of the stories-challenges for a bit of inspiration. It’s a big help to be able to read about other people. And now the urge has passed so I’m off to have a glass of water and do the ironing.

  172. Ave

    Hi,

I started the 21 day challenge yesterday and I have two questions:
    1). Can I eat grapes?
2). Can I overeat on the salads? Or is this a bad thing?

    Cheers,
    Ave
    :o)

    1. damian

HI there Ave, welcome to the challenge – please eat only the foods on the lists πŸ™‚ you can definitely eat too much salad… please stick to the palm method πŸ™‚

  173. Juliet Sunde

Hi There. Have been on the 21 day challage now for 8 days and am loving it, have so much energy and dont feel hungry and am getting good night sleeps too. I am amazed when you decide to do it how eazy it is to do. Thanks for the program it is just what I had been looking for.

    1. damian

Hey Kathy! you should be able to get it from ANY health Food Store… or if you contact a naturopath or chiropractor in your area they will stock the Metagenics Meta Pure EPA/DHA product. Alternatively you can order it through Slim You just send us an email info@slimyou.com

      have a great time Kathy!

  174. Kathy Voss

    Hi Damian and Phyllis
I am on day 5 of the 21 day challenge and am doing really well. I have lost 2kgs, and am on 1.5 on the ketostix. I have one question – I am running a half marathon (21.1kms) on Saturday and normally have a GU on the run and eat carbohydrates the night before. What do I do this time, do you have any alternatives which will fit in with the programme.

    thanks Kathy

  175. Delwyn Barnett

    Hi Damian and Phyllis

I’m a sugar craver, 4 days in and I’m craving the three/four jarrah’s or ww hot chocolate I usually have daily, (I don’t drink tea or coffee at all). Any thoughts as to what I can replace this with.

PS finding this really tough in that I’m really tired every night, this could be my body getting used to the drop in sugars

    Regards
    Delwyn

    1. damian

hi there Delwyn, yeah if you tease your body with sugar it will want more… try to go cold turkey! πŸ™‚

  176. Delwyn Barnett

    Hi Damian and Phyllis
I don’t seem to have had a reply to my earlier post (re sugar cravings). I know you are busy getting ready for your retreat. Starting to get used to not having so much sugar but haven’t managed to cut out the jarrah hot chocolates completely – my only failing at this point. Challenge is otherwise going well, the taste of fresh food without preservatives is fantastic, the weight is going down (starting to get excited its heading towards a 0 digit!), but still a bit tired. I am enjoying this immensely however !

    Regards

    1. phyllis

HI Delwyn, the sugar question is for Damian so I will make sure he gets to reply some time today hopefully, he back to back with patients today and last night to be free to fly tonight to New Zealand. As promised I will be calling you next week about the next retreat

    2. damian

HI there Delwyn, sorry for the delay in this reply. your sugar cravings are often perpetuated by continuing to eat sugar. its best to just give it the flick… if you need to… go to your local health food or supplement store and get some chromium picolinate… it will curb those cravings for you πŸ™‚

  177. sharlene waetford

Well day 1 and joining was the first step, ordering the other products now and then to begin!! exciting! I am hoping after this kick start I will no longer be the person who says when the camera comes out “head shots only!” lol….looking forward to a new beginning

  178. Boni

Hi, can anyone give me some advise?
Day 4 and my Ketostix read 8 this morning. Would like to get back between 1.5 and 4 have been eating ample food so what do i eat to bring it down?

  179. Jeena Ferguson

Hi, Have just finished the first week of the 21 day challenge, and am 3.3kgs lighter! Cool! :o) Enjoying the program! One thing I have noticed in the last couple of days is a feeling of weakness thru my body during the morning, so the first time I noticed it, I had a coffee with a tinsy bit of sugar in it for smoko and felt alot better! I also get up around 6.30am for a walk but haven’t for the past couple of mornings due to that ‘weak’ feeling. And I don’t really want to rely on coffee to kickstart me!!Is this normal, will it pass? Any thoughts would be appreciated. :o)

  180. Nicola Steed

I have just joined today and I am ready to work on this approach. Been a long term “dieter” to no avail…just gained weight thereafter. I see this as a kick start, with sound nutrition to back it up…Looking forward to see how I go…

  181. Jean

I’ve just completed day 11 of the challenge and I’m loving it. On completion of day 7 I weighed in 3Kg lighter. Yippee.
I’ve found the eating plan so easy to follow. I’m being completely unadventurous as I’m focussed on it only being 21 days. I’m interested in the 112 day challenge so must read up about it and see if it is for me.
Thanks Damian and Phyllis for a great program and very inspirational encouragement.

  182. Rachel Kennedy

Hi, Ive just signed up for the 21 programme and as I read through through it I notice there is only mention of coffee and water for drinks, I drink sugar free V is this ok? Also I go to work early in the morning so breakfast is an issue for me can you suggest a shake that I could make instead of the eggs?

    Thanks

    1. damian

HI there Rachel! Suger free V is a definite no-no. it is incredibly unhealthy for you and actually will adversely affect the speed you lose weight. a great shake if you need to have one in the morning would be made with the following ingredients.

40gms of Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) there are lost of different brands around
      2 desertspoons of blue berries
200mls of rice or almond milk
      1 desertspoon of LSA
      4 ice cubes

      good luck.

  183. Kylie Minnell

So I have just signed up for the 21 day challenge (ahh!!) Have tried so many things before so Im really hoping I get results! Any suggestions on meal ideas I can get is much appreciated! Also, the full fat yogurt, is this like the natural ones in the carton at the supermarket? And how much is a portion (for breakfast)? And is it 3 meals a day, with snacks, or no snacks?

    1. damian

      Hey Kylie! πŸ™‚

yeah 3 meals a day – you shouldn’t need snacks if you follow the meal planner. but if you need to you can have some Almonds (raw)

The full fat yoghurt is natural yoghurt – it could be Greek style if you like or just straight natural.

      good luck! πŸ™‚

  184. Kylie Minnell

    Hi Damian/Phyllis
Tomorrow is day 1 for me, Im just wondering if I have to follow the meal planner or if I can alter it a bit? Im not a salmon eater so just wondered if I can substitute it for chicken or something? Can I just use the meal planner as a guide and substitute different things in from the food list? I tend to like the same thing most days, so fruit and yougurt and nuts for breakfast, and meat and veg/salad for dinner..is this ok?

  185. jodie konstantinovs

On day 2 really loving the food just been having really bad headaches and feeling really ill and trying to keep everything down. not sure what i should be or shouldnt be doing?

    1. damian

Hi there Jodie. some people start to detox when they do this. i would think that it should have passed now. How are you feeling now?

  186. Floss

    Hi Damian

I’m just wondering if I could have Miso as a snack? I find it very filling and it is protein packed….

    Any words of advise?

  187. stepharcher

Hi Damian, I have noticed that you have not listed tomatoes in your veggie list, is this just a rough guide and we are allowed all veggies? Also, potato/kumera isn’t on the list but it’s on your meal planner?
    Thanks

    1. damian

Hi there Steph – great pick up – my belief is that people can eat any veggie they like and be well. even fruit… however the foods that I have selected are amongst the most thermogenic that I have found (including the little bit of potato and kumara) – my suggestion is that you follow the meal plan as it works a treat and if you like, you could add some tomato and subtract the kumara and potato… that would be no problems, but your results may be different.

  188. Libby Batley

    Hiya,
Just wondered why you cant pile your plate with salad?
Starting tomorrow and am freaking. I have the biggest appettite!

    1. damian

Hey Libby – salad still has fuel in it. its not “FREE” so to speak. if you have protein, fat and carbs with every meal and when you start burning fat – you won’t be hungry πŸ™‚

  189. Carolyn O'Fallon

    Hi Damian & Phyllis,

I am just going to start the 21 days to change and have a question about the fruit – I really cannot stand any type of melon and wonder if there are any fruits that could be substituted – boysenberries, bananas, kiwifruit, grapes are ones that leap to mind?

Also, are cashewnuts allowed? And flaxseed oil?

Looking forward to the challenge!! Carolyn

    1. damian

      Hi there Carolyn,

the fruits that are on the list are ideal. all berries are fine too. πŸ™‚

Definitely no to bananas though for this style of program.

      Kind regards

      Damian

  190. Bronwynne Jenkins

    Hi Damian & Phyllis,
I have just ordered suppliments then will be ready to go. My husband & I both work full time and have 3 kids. Its a very busy household and I have been feeling extremely fatigued for a very long time. I have tried lots of things to try & boost my energy so I will be very interested to see if this will work (and help me lose some weight too, of course). From all the things I have read its looking very promising. Will let you know when I have started.
    PS. I have 30kgs to lose…

    1. phyllis

that’s awesome Bronwynne – I totally get the busyness and full on life πŸ™‚ I remind myself how lucky I am to have husband and children and work πŸ™‚ (yes crazy as it is, lots to be thankful for) – looking forward to your results, remember this is a kick start and not the answer to 30 kilo loss but a great place to start, next place and for massive changes is the 112daychallenge x stay in touch

  191. RaewynJoy

    Hi All,

Just joined today. So looking forward to starting in the morning. Just preparing everything today. I have got between 20-25kgs to loose.
Talk to you next week with my 1st result.

    1. phyllis

looking forward to your results Raewyn – don’t forget this is a 21 day programme so 3 to 7 kilos is a good start πŸ™‚

  192. Janine Sanders

Hi, I have Autismal Polycystic Kidney Disease and just want to confirm that this diet will be ok for me?

    1. damian

      Dear Janine,

This program causes rapid fat loss, as a result it will challenge your kidney’s I would consider speaking with your renal specialist, however the 112 Day Challenge is something that we could do more for you with.

      Damian

  193. carmen knight

not sure where you by strawberries in the middle of winter?? but is it ok to have a small punnet of strawberry yoghurt instead?

    1. damian

      Hi Carmen,

you can use frozen strawberries or berries and defrost them.

no you can’t have a small punnet of yoghurt.

  194. carmen knight

the supermarkets don’t sell gluten free peanuts and because i am allergic [to gluten NOT peanuts] is there an alternative snack food? for me? -ta.

    1. damian

      Dear Carmen,

most items these days are manufactured with machines and lines that also manufacture products that contain gluten. Look to use organic almonds or other nuts as these typically only come from one source.

      Damian

  195. MargaretMacaulay

I’m having trouble printing the menu planner. Only a very dark body blitz watermark prints. What am i doing wrong?

    1. damian

      HI there Margaret,

thats strange. i will put a version on the website that doesn’t have the water mark for you. Have you checked your black ink?

      Damian

  196. Libby Batley

    Hi,
Ive been following quite well. Sometimes too many almonds..(bad?)
My Ketostix arent changing colour though?? They are barely at trace..
And im on day 3. Exercising every day hardout.
and.. will kumara make for slower weight loss??
    Thanks!

    1. damian

      HI there Libby,

well done πŸ™‚ the ketostix can remain negative (no colour change) and you will still be burning HEAPS of fat. if you like, drop the kumara and it may work better πŸ™‚

  197. carmen knight

i can no longer see the program?
i am grumpy and hungry and just finished day two.

  198. Sarah Rankin

Hi! I’m living with a vegetarian family at the moment, and I usually eat my evening meal with them. Other than the fritatta, what are some good things that we can have for dinner that won’t tempt me to have things I shouldn’t?

    1. damian

HI there Sarah – thats a bit tough – feel free to eat the vegetarian meals – the key thing you need to remember is to not have the starchy stuff. avoid the rice and pasta and potato options. perhaps have a boiled egg or two with the meal – or if they are serving tofu – you should be fine.

please avoid the TVP soy protein alternatives – these are not good for you.

      Damian

  199. M Freeth

    Hi,

I have just signed up thanks to the Grab One deal and very excited to get started. Your programme says to eat alot of Yoghurt and the meal planner says to eat eggs. I am allergic to all Dairy products and Eggs. What do you suggest to do? What is a good alternative? I still really want to lose the weight and the fat.

    Thanks!

    1. damian

      Hi there M,

any of the meals in the program are interchangeable – fish, chicken, beef, lamb etc can be used in stead of the eggs and instead of having yoghurt with your fruit in the morning you could use nuts and seeds to keep your protein up.

it could be a case of you having soups or stir fry for breakfast…?

      damian
