Nah sorry Wendy – please drink the water you need and then the herbal teas are a bonus! πŸ™‚

    Hi there,

I’m just on day three of the challenge and finding the meal plan really easy to follow. However, I am struggling to eat all the allocated food. I find that the eggs are really filling for me and struggle to eat 3 eggs in a frittata or even 2 in the mornings for breakfast. I realise that by not eating all the allocated food this might severely drop my calorie intake for the day and I worried that my body may be going into the ‘starvation mode’ as I do more than the daily exercises too.

On another note, I have to say that I LOVE the taste of the poached apple, I have never tried that before and it’s very yummy!

    Cheers,
    Angela

      Hi there Angela! πŸ™‚

great stuff! – just eat less πŸ™‚

often we find that people can’t eat all of the food – we even say that in the manual – so its ok. you will go in to starvation mode if you are hungry and don’t eat enough πŸ™‚

      well done!

Oh wow it took me ages to figure out how to post this lol.

I did the keytone stick test and my stick came back with 0!!! I was really surprised by this, I have only been doing this for four days so wasn’t expecting amazing results but I started to wonder if this was a common reading early on in the program and should this change over the following weeks???

    1. damian

      Hi there Sylviam,

this is common – its not essential to show any reading on the ketostix – but it is important that you don’t go too high. 1.5-4 is fine anything above 4 is too high and you need to eat more. anything less is fine. if you are eating on the program – it is working πŸ™‚

    Hi,
Is Magnesium Oxide the same as Magnesium Citrate? The assistant at my local health store gave me Magnesium Citrate, and said that it was a muscle relaxant which is why it helps the bowels. It’s in a tablet form rather than powder so perhaps the bonding agent contributes to the ‘Citrate’?
    Cheers
    B

    1. damian

Hi there Bridget, Mg Citrate is a well absorbed magnesium – ok for relaxing muscles. The Mg Oxide is far more powerful and poorly absorbed. it is important to use the OXIDE form as this is what is use to rehydrate the colon. it is available on our website for you to purchase. πŸ™‚ it needs to be a powder.

    Good afternoon,

I have printed out the 21 day challenge and purchased the products.

To start the Gut Preparation for 4 nights, is that when I start the program or do I do that for 4 nights then start my Meal Planner.

I also take joint tablets from the health shop (my choice) – 2 in the morning, should I stop these for the 21 days?

    Raewyn

    1. damian

      HI there Raewyn πŸ™‚

please keep going on your joint tablets – they are good. The Bowel cleanse is done at the start of the program you can start eating on the program at take same time as the bowel cleanse.

  5. Sandra Walker

Sorry – forgot to ask. I am following the eating plan but havent got any Uroplex or Colozone… How will this affect weight loss?

    1. damian

      Hi there Sandra,

The UROPLEX will assist losing fluid – as this is a very effective herbal kidney tonic.
The COLON CLEANSE – MAGNESIUM OXIDE is a bowel rehydration formula that washes the bowels out. it too is VERY effective. if your bowels don’t move properly it is very difficult to lose weight.

      i hope this helps.

  6. Lauren Glading

I have been doing this for a week and a half now and have lost 2 kgs! im so
excited about this! but i have seemed to plateau on my weight! i have
been exercising for 30-60 mins per day doing a variety of different
things and my weight is not moving. Will my weight just stay here or
will it continue to drop whilst i finish this program? also when this
is over is there a way in which i need to slowly incorporate the foods/carbs i have not been eating as i would hate to put it all back on again?
    thanks a lot
    Lauren

    1. damian

HI there Lauren! WELL DONE! that is great πŸ™‚ keep it up!

do you have much more to go? if you are near your ideal weight – go to http://www.slimyou.com and look at the health club for more information. you will get an email outlining what you need to do when you are finishing your program that outlines how to re-introduce the carbs that you have been restricting.

have you considered the http://www.112daychallenge.com yet?

      Damian

  7. sarahb

    Hi there,

Can you mix and match from the meal planner like have day 1 breakfast with day 2 dinner etc or is the whole day balanced out?
    Cheers,
    Sarah

  8. Mimi Tan

    Hi Damian,

I have started the meal plan for a week, it was great as I have already lost 1.5-2kg. A question for you.I am quite a coffee drinker, I tried having black most of the time but it that ok for me to have soy latte once a while?

    mimi

    1. damian

HI there Mimi – congratulations! why don’t you try a soy latte and see if it works ok? some people can handle coffee and still lose weight, others cant.

      Damian

  9. Candace

Hi I am just about to start the 21 day body blitz challenge. I have a few questions. Not sure if Im posting this in the correct place but ill soon find out. Im looking at doing the winter menu, you say to use the Palm size methood, some foods in the menu have a size put to them already like 150g chicken 3 eggs, etc. Do I use this size or do I do the size of palm for proteins. Also the size of palm for proteins is it pretty much the whole hand but not the fingers, by the depth of the hand? Also 2 cups or brockli that seems like alot. Im 55kg normal height size 8 girl what would you suggest about 150g chicken and also 3 eggs etc?

Also what is the crunchy bean combo, thats the one recepie I didnt know.

Do I have to stick to either the entire winter menu or the entire summer, or can I mix up the meals, like breaky from one lunch from another etc?

Also what kind of multi vitamin do you suggest?

And are doing the Kerostix things essential?

thankyou and sorry about all the questions I want to do it exactly right.

    1. damian

      HI there Candace.

I am always reticent to include weight based portion sizes, i would prefer that you use the palm measure just as you described it.

Crunchy bean combo is a sprout mix available from supermarkets and grocers.

I like the Metagenics Multi – for women it is called Femme Essentials.

Ketostix – aren’t essential – but they are a great tool to ensure efficacy πŸ™‚

      please don’t apologise.

      Damian

      1. Candace

thanks for that. Am I able to use a combination of the 2 summer and winter menus or do I have to stick to one. So is the 150g of chicken and 3 eggs for omlete, just a quideline do I just use the palm method where amounts are said?

        1. damian

Hey Candace πŸ™‚ yeah mix it up. all the meals work and your portion size is perfect with the palm method. Damian

          1. Candace

ok just a few more questions then I wont bug you for a while.

What can I have instead of strawberries in the morning before I excersize as I cant find them.

Also Ive been to a few health stores and they havent heard of macadamia oil, where can I get it or can I use flaxseed oil instead?

Is poaching fish just in a fan with water, or wraped in tinfoil in oven?

Does garlic have to be fresh?

Is it ground chilli or Chilli sauce?

I cant find fresh organic just organic peanut butter is that the same?

            thankyou

          2. damian

            HI there Candace,

            πŸ™‚ here are your answers.

            1. You could use 1/2 pear or apple – kiwi fruit.
            2. Macadamia oil is in the supermarkets – Cathedral Cove is the brand in NZ and SunCoast Gold Vitality in Australia
            3. Poaching fish is done either way foil or in a pan with herbs and flavours
            4. garlic is best fresh but you can use the Jar if you like
            5. grond chilli – you can make your own chilli sauce i will put up the recipe today.
            6. thats fine re the peanut butter – health food stores will make it fresh for you.

            Damian

  10. Janine Sanders

Hi, I have been on the diet for 6 days and so far so good. Had terrible headache the second day but a good sleep sorted it out. Cannot wait to weigh myself tomorrow and see if I have lost.

We are allowed fish does that include prawns?

    Cheers
    Janine

    1. damian

      Well Done Janine!

cant wait to hear how you went!

The foods on the list are ideal – fish is only fish – prawns are considered seafood. you could add prawns to the mix, but i’m not sure how it would go.

      Damian

    1. damian

are you vegetarian Lauren? these will work LONG TERM as part of a healthy meal plan – but they aren’t part of this program πŸ™‚

  11. amandag

I am a vegetarian and was wondering if you had any suggestions for good sources of protein?

    Thanks πŸ™‚

    Amanda

      1. Amanda

        Hi Damian,

I eat all of the above apart from fish. Could I get by by just eating loads of veges and the protein sources that you mentioned?

        Thanks for your help πŸ™‚

        Amanda

  12. Mel Dalton

    Hi there,

I was wondering if you have any other recipes that are tried and true? I have just started the 21 Day challenge and am looking forward to trying out the Frittata recipe, looks yummy. Also since we are a family of 5 I was wanting recipes that can work for the whole family but can be adapted to the challenge.
One other thing…When and how are we supposed to take the omega 3 oil? Is it ok to be mixed in with other things?

Cheers for that look forward to your response.

    Mel
    Tauranga

    1. damian

      Hey Mel,

More recipes to come – they are on their way. The omega 3 oil should be put on a tsp and swallowed ideally – its pleasant to taste not bad at all.

all the recipes that you will get can be used for your family.

      Damian

  13. Angela Clark

    Hi Damian,

I’m on Day 9 of the Challenge. I have been trying to get back under 60 kg for nearly the past year and I have eventually made it!!! My weight has been varying between 60.5-63kg for the last 12 months and I have tried dieting, mainly through the new WeightWatchers program. I don’t have much to loose only around 5-6kg but I haven’t been able to shift it until now…..

I know that you shouldn’t weight yourself every day, but I just can’t resist with this diet. Everytime I jump on the scales in the morning I have lost more weight! This morning I made it down to 59.4kg!!!! I am SO HAPPY!!!

The weight loss had been steady, around 3-400g per day. Thanks so much for the program! I will more than happy to send some before and after photos when I’ve finished. I hope that the progress continues to be steady to reach my goal of 55kg!

    Thank you very much!
    Angela

    1. Angela Clark

Meant to say… that is a total loss of 2.6kg in 9 days! My starting weight was 62kg.

      Angela

  14. shirbla

Hi there. I am on day 9 and am feeling good. I still hit a low energy wall at 3:00ish – the nuts don’t help and nor does a quick walk outside! is there anything i can do to avoid this. e.g what i should eat at lunchtime.

  15. Diane Duncan

Hi my cholesterol is slightly elevated, part of the reason I decided to do this programme. Is it ok to be eating the amount of eggs that are in the menu planners? Thanks.

  16. Janine Sanders

    Hi there,

One week down and I have lost 2.7kg. Yipppeee!!!!

Just want to know if we are allowed to eat pork?

    Cheers
    Janine

  17. Katrina Hamilton

    Hi

I have just started the 21 day blitz programme, where it says you need oil and fat every meal, what one do you suggest is best. I am also taking fish oil (Ethical Nutrients Brand) just 5mls in the morning.

Must mention too, the Magnesium Oxide worked a treat πŸ™‚

    Thanks

    1. damian

      Hey Katrina πŸ™‚

great stuff with the ethical nutrients – that is perfect – you don’t need our one. any oil or fat – macadamia, avocado and olive oil’s are my favourite. LOVE THE MG Oxide!

  18. B

    Hi,
Can I take things we are allowed to eat and mix them up to make a family meal – ie mince (or chicken mince) with tomatoes, herbs and spices for a spaghetti sauce? (Obviously family eats the pasta, I have the sauce with spinach) Also what about a home made hollandaise type sauce with olive oil, egg and lemon to have as the fat on all the poached eggs?

    Cheers

  19. sherylk

I ordered the Colon Cleanse on Monday 8 August. Can you tell me how long till it gets here please (Rotorua). I have started the 21 day programme without it!

    Cheers
    Sheryl

    1. Raewyn Rodwell

      Hi Sheryl,

I’m in Rotorua and starting my 21 day eating plan tomorrow. It would be good to beable to contact you to see how you are doing.

      Raewyn

  20. Katrina Hamilton

    Hi again Damian

I am now starting day 3 of the blitz programme and am aware you can suffer from headaches. I have had really bad headaches since the evening of day one and have taken paracetamol but it dosnt seem to be helping. I wake up with it in the night and struggle to get out of bed, do you have any suggestions that may help or how long should I expect them to last. I am eating to the menu plan and apart from the headaches everything else is going fine.

    Thanking you Katrina

      1. Katrina Hamilton

        Hi Damian

Feeling a lot better now, I am drinking almost 3 litres of water a day and I have cut back from around 5 coffees per day to 2. I guess it was all part of my body going through a huge change for those first 4 days as I was also taking the Magnesium Oxide. Thanks for your wonderful support πŸ™‚

  21. lisaharrington

Hi I note there are foods in the meal planner that are not in the body blitz booklet.ie kumera … is obviously Ok to eat.. and kiwifruit?
    Cheers

    Lisa

    1. damian

      HI there Lisa,

yeah there are a few extras – our belief is that any veggie is good for you – the ones that we have listed are the best. if you want Kiwi Fruit you can add it – however it may affect the program – but then again it may be awesome! let us know how you go πŸ™‚

      Damian

  22. Megan Graham

    Hi Damian,

So far I have lost 2kgs and am hoping for another kg tomorrow when I weigh myself! I have not been under 72.3kgs in a probably 3 years but a week ago when I weighed myself I was 72! I do karate for exercise (plus I love it) and train about 4 – 5 hrs a week – altho not all strenuous – is this enough or should I be doing more? I do walk every day but not much – probably 20 minutes.

Also I keep forgetting to take the omega 3 – how does this effect the weight loss? Is it best to take in the morning or at night?

    1. Megan Graham

Have just been iin the health club and listened/watched the info about the palm method – very helpful! Can you tell me what a “good” cereal is? For breakfast I have been having a squeezed lemon in water (and again at night), then 2 strawberries with yogurt, then a very small amount (maybe 1 fist) of special K with 2 slices of peaches (out of a tin – lite). Should I substitute the special K with something else? I don’t have time to cook something before going to work so need something that I can easily prepare. Any suggestions? Also is Kumera better than Potato? I have cut out potato but might have a very small one once a week – would I be better to have the odd Kumera instead?

What I have mostly changed is my evening meal so I have a small portion of meat and then veges – seems to be working but after watching the video I think I could do better…

      1. damian

        Hi there Megan πŸ™‚

hold off on the cereal until you have finished this program – then on the other side of this program – look at WBC – you can get this from some stores around NZ – where are you located?

you could have some Kumara if you like – try to follow the meal chart as a plan πŸ™‚

          1. Megan

            Hi Damien!

Sorry for the late reply – what does WBC stand for? I was trying to find it on that site you recommended… Thanks in advance

            Megan

    2. damian

      Hi there Megan!

awesome work! thats fantastic! πŸ™‚ your exercise sounds terrific

try to take the oil in the morning – its the best time to take oils – this is more thermogenic (better for weight loss).

  23. Robyn

    Hi there
I bought the Colon Cleanse…I haven’t taken it yet as just before I started I got a cold/infection and needed antibiotics…I’m finishing those today and am wanting to do the cleanse now (I’m on day 13). After taking the powder and drinking the water it mentions having 1/2 lemon juice with water…I get migranes/stomach pains from lemons and citrus…is there anything else like perhaps cider vinegar to substitute for lemon? Or is just water okay…or should I not do the cleanse at all??
    Cheers
    Robyn

    1. damian

Hi there Robyn πŸ™‚ Apple Cider vinegar is GREAT! do that – 1 teaspoon is all you will need in water to replace the lemon juice.

      good luck!

  24. Aunty

    Hi there

I’m just doing this diet without the colon cleanse, uroplex etc and I am still ‘regular’. Whilst my weight loss is NOT rapid, I do feel bloated.Does this mean I will do better with those items?

    1. damian

Hello Aunty – yes you may certainly do better with the Colon Clear. the uroplex tends to help more where there is fluid retention though.

  25. paula spijkerman

    Hi guys

I am not a great fan of poached eggs, so for breakfast is it alright to have an omlette made with 2 eggs and some veges?

    Thanks

  26. Katrina Hamilton

    Hi Damian

I have just completed day 7 and was thrilled to have already lost 2.8kgs and I am feeling great which is just as wonderful as the weight loss πŸ™‚

    Thanks again

  27. Angela Clark

    Hi,

I’m planning on jogging my first half marathon at the beginning of September.

Since being cutting out my carbs I have felt great! Usually I suffer really badly from IBS, bad cramps and bloating but I have had none of this since being on your diet. πŸ˜€ This has definitely changed my eating habits – not just for weight loss but for all-round happiness and well-being.

So I’m a little apprehensive about ‘carb-loading’ before the run, can you suggest a way in which I will have enough energy to complete the 21km but without feeling bloating and sick.

    Cheers,
    Angela

    1. damian

      Hey Angela! thats awesome!

good luck for your first 1/2 marathon! thats a great achievement! in terms of carb loading – its a myth that you need to do that. the best thing to do is to eat a normal meal the night before, have a big bowl of fruit, yoghurt and LSA in the morning of the run and drink lots of water. Carb loading only increases your potential to have lactic acid burn and build up.

      have fun! πŸ™‚

  28. Angela Halliday

Hi, I have finished the 21 days and have lost just over 4kgs and feeling great. What do I do now. I only want to lose another kilo. So just wondering what I need to do to maintain the weight loss and not slip back into the old habits?

    1. damian

      Hi there Angela!

      Congratulations!

4kgs is a GREAT result! try bringing in a type of grain based carb 1 x daily for a week and see what happens… try with Quinoa or brown rice first. are you exercising? if not – then you should – this will almost certainly guarantee you’ll keep the weight off.

jump on to the http://www.slimyouhealthclub.net website or go to http://www.slimyou.com and click on the health club for more tips.

      well done!

      Damian

  29. CLARE SOUTHALL

    Hi Damian

7 days in and lost 2.5kg great, next 2 weeks will be the challenge sticking to programme and not adding little extras !

    Thanks Clare

    1. damian

πŸ™‚ thats a GREAT first week! stick to your plan and goal for your success… don’t sabotage yourself.

  30. Sandra Dick

    Hi

I am feeling nervous about starting the 21 day challenge as I wonder how I will cope with no bread, potatoes, pasta etc as they are always a standard inclusion in our families meals. However, I am keen to give it a go as I really do need to kick start my wieght loss.

Also, I logged on to the 21 days website for the first time last week but have since had computer troubles and have also taken a few days to plan and gather together the food I need so have not yet started the diet. Do we get access to the site for more than 21 days from when we first logged on?

Looking forward to those recipes that will be coming my way in the days to come (according to an answer given to another 21 days challenger)

    Sandra

    1. damian

      Hi there Sandra,

you will be pleasantly surprised! you will actually find it much easier than you think. Expect to have a great time and do it with ease. there are plenty of recipes coming your way. you are on the site for over 40 days – so don’t stress πŸ™‚ have fun!

      Damian

  31. sherylk

Houston we have a problem! Have done the colon cleanse and that was all good. However, there is nothing in this diet to KEEP me going! Always have a problem with this but worse now. What should I do? Is there a way to take smaller doses of CC?

    1. damian

      Hi there Sheryl!

      πŸ™‚ i did chuckle reading this πŸ™‚

the fibre in fruit and veggies should always be enough. my suggestion with CC is to take it on the days your bowels don’t move. this might be only 1 or 2 times a week. the bowels will continue to be well hydrated as a result and you will be fine. let me know how you go with that… or you can take a small amount in water (1/2 tsp) daily and this will hydrate the colon – but this will mean you may need it longer term.

      Damian

      1. Ericacrawford

        Danian ho
iI have a similar problem, new to me! Sure with the mountains of vegetables going down my thought and litres of water, this should not be a problem.
Should I try the Colon cleans thing
        Thanks

      2. sherylk

No luck AT ALL with just fruit and veges! Have had to go back to the Naturopath stuff I used to take but it does have Senna in it, which I note you suggested wasn’t good long term. Would I be better with 1/2 tsp CC each day and does it have to be in the evening? Thanks

        1. damian

          HI there Sherylk,

yeah do the 1/2 tsp of Colon Cleanse daily – it can be in the morning or in the night. which ever is more comfortable for you.

    1. damian

No its not Paula, Toni Water has added flavours and sugar – DIET Tonic is worse for you… stick to soda and lime or lemon.

  32. wendyker

Hi there, I’m starting 21 day challenge today.

Wondering if you are able offer Metagenics multis on website. Was not able to source “without prescription” in central Wellington. This time got the ‘off the shelf’ womens multi recommended by commensense organics.

Also please explain ‘sales tax’ and reason for not combining shipping price when 3 items ordered.

    Many thanks,
    Wendy

    1. damian

Hi there Wendy – Sales Tax is GST (but for some reason it calls it sales tax). we do combine the shipping price – you only pay once. We can do the womens multi for sure. we’ll get that happening – thank you for the suggestion

      Damian

  33. Jane

    Hi Damian,

I have just a couple of questions:
When cooking the spinach, what is the best way to cook it? Just steam it in the microwave?

When you say grilled salmon, do you just mean to pop it on a tray in the oven and grill it like that?

When cooking the chicken, is it best to steam it?

Instead of having a lamb steak is it ok to have a lean beef steak instead?

    Thanks for you time.

    1. damian

      Hi there Jane,

I stir fry my spinach with a little bit of coconut oil or macadamia oil
I pop the salmon under the grill with some wholegrain mustard on top of it
I stir fry or BBQ my chicken – love it rolled in Dukkah from Cathedral cove or Pepplers Spices
You can have beef or lamb – lean is good… try Kangaroo! its amazing!

  35. Theresa

Hi, I’m on the last day of the 21 day program and at my 2 week weigh in I had lost 2.7kgs. I haven’t felt bloated or sluggish for the 3 weeks which is great, but haven’t really had an energy boost, in fact, a lot of the time I feel very tired, I’ve been following the food guide as well as I can, but is there any foods that will boost my energy levels?

    1. damian

      Hi there Theresa,

      are you taking the supplements?

you could try adding a small amount of fruit to a meal a day or adding some quinoa to your lunch meal – perhaps 1/2 cup cooked 3-4 times a week.

      see how that goes.

      Damian

      1. Theresa

        Hi Damian

I am taking the supplements, hense a little worried about the energy levels, but thanks for the suggestions, I’ll give them a go, never had quinoa before so will be interesting.

By the way, I weighed myself yesterday and have lost 4.3kgs since I started the body blitz programme, I have never lost weight this quickly, its great ;D

        Thank you so much

    Hi there,
I am having the vitamins, but find I get hungry in the afternoon. Lunch is eaten at around 12.30 and dinner is about 7 and the nuts I eat about 3ish.. is it ok to have some yogurt or apple then?
Also would 8 or 10 almonds be the right amount for the morning tea or afternoon tea snacks?

    1. damian

      Hi there Mareeh,

8-10 almonds is a good size snack if you need one – yoghurt and fruit is also a good snack. I would prefer that if you are hungry in the afternoon that you eat a bit more protein with your lunch and add a bit more oil to the meal… you should feel better doing this – rather than snacking. however snacking in small quantities is ok too πŸ™‚

  37. Cathy King

    hi there

It’s day 2 for me and i’ve just got my products.

How much Metagenics Fish Oil should i take a day and when is it best to have?

    1. damian

      HI there Cathy,

have you been able to watch the video with regards to the products? 1 teaspoon is all you need of the Fish Oil once per day with food. πŸ™‚

  38. Jacqui Lammers

    Hey Damien,

I’m on day 10 and going strong. Just wondered, is smoked salmon ok, or is it better to grill from fresh?

    Jacqui

  39. Terri Small

Hi Damian. Day 3 for me..having the headaches but thats because no coffee!! i norm have one a day. Question: 3 handfuls of veges or fruit spread over three meals..this is a cup per meal..have I misread that? Everyone is talking about eating more than they do normally? this is way less for me although I must admit – no really bad hungers pangs!!! but I am eating more than the one cup of veges at a time? also does it matter than I am starting on the colon thingie when it arrives (just ordered it today) so will be prob in my 2nd week of the programme?

    1. damian

      Hey Terri,

its a palm of veggies or fruit or combined with EVERY meal πŸ™‚ you aren’t eating enough. please eat more. the head ache i would suspect has gone now πŸ™‚ the colon clear can be done when ever you like πŸ™‚

  40. Ali 1983

Just finished day 1. Is it normal to feel hungry while we adjust? I didn’t have any sugar cravings today which is an ABSOLUTE bonus! And on Day 1 too!!

Also, with the Palm method and our veggies/fruit, is it just what will cover your whole hand, or is it heaped? I want to make sure I’m eating enough so my body doesn’t go into starvation mode.
    Cheers!

    1. damian

      Hey Ali! πŸ™‚

yeah it is normal to feel this way – have a heaped palm πŸ™‚ thats the best way – but you aren’t building the leaning tower of Pisa – its a mound πŸ™‚

      1. Ali 1983

        Thanks Damian.

My hunger pangs are pretty much gone, but now I feel really bloated. Is this also part of the detoxing process? I’ve finished the colon cleanse too.

        Cheers,
        Ali

        1. damian

Hi there Ali, you shouldn’t be bloated either… πŸ™‚ have you got a good probiotic there? are you bowels moving daily? you may still be detoxing but I would suggest that you may be eating something that your body isn’t liking much… are you having much onion or garlic?

          1. Ali 1983

Thanks Damian. Can you believe it was eggs and cottage cheese?! Although feta and yoghurt are fine…. Also, sugar cravings have come back again. Should I do a couple of days of the colon cleanse? I found that helped a lot last time.

  41. Nicki Taylor

    Hi

I have just purchased the 21 day challenge, the foods are pretty much exactly what I have daily now, except I have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and a protein shake made with water upon getting home from the gym where you have the nuts. Your menu is pretty similar to what I have been following for the last 4 years. I walk an hour a day, weight train at least 5 days a week doing lower body then upper body alternatively and 4 nights a week do an hour on my exercycle also. I have PCOS and hyper insulimia yet I can not get down below 72kg and 62 is ideal high for my height. I am also on metaphormine for my PCOS condition. I have not had bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, pumpkin etc for easy 4 years now. I drink 2 litres of water a day. There must be something im already doing wrong?

    1. damian

Hi there Nicki – I agree – there must be something you are doing wrong. Have you eaten foods according to measurement that we suggest? the Palm Method? if you are only having 2 boiled eggs for break you aren’t setting yourself up well. There are some great supplements that i use in consultation for PCOS, as this is not a consultation I can’t provide specific health advice for you. but please add cinnamon to your cooking and ensure that you are eating enough vegetable based carbs. if you would like a consult with me, please contact info@slimyou.com or i can refer you to someone who can help you in your area.

  42. Juliet Schultz

    Hi,

I’m doing the 21 day Body Blitz Programme.

Have lost 2kg in the first week which was very exciting, however, there is no colour change in the Ketostix when I’m testing my Urine in the morning, stays on 0 – is this ok – should there be a reading? And what does it mean if there isn’t?
    Juliet

    1. damian

      HI there Juliet,

That is perfect. this program isn’t designed to have you burning ketones. But if you were burning ketones, it would show on the Ketostix and the sticks then provide a safety switch to alert you if you are burning too many ketones (which is a side effect of not eating enough). Too many Ketones is a reading higher than 8 on the Ketostix.

Congratulations of your first 2kg πŸ™‚

  43. Kylie Zinsli

    Hey

Just a little confused the body blitz challenge book/pdf thingy suggests drinking 35mls of water for every kg you weigh and the Winter Meal planner suggests ” 25mls of water per kg of body weight” is it coz its winter that you don’t need as much water?

and I can only see one week worth of meal plan, do I have to eat the same thing for all 3 weeks?

sorry if i have missed something..just thought i should ask?

    1. damian

      HI there Kylie,

The recommended amount of water varies between 25-35mls per kg of body weight. The more the better. The meal planners included give you an out line of a weeks worth of food for winter and summer and you can continue to solely eat from those items only of you like, however its better to create other meals when you feel comfortable about your approach. Most people Kylie don’t eat 21 different meals in 3 weeks let alone 63. I am sure you will find more than enough variety in the meals and the recipes coming your way in the emails too. πŸ™‚

      Enjoy!

  44. Liz Lavery

    Hi
Just got the programme and getting ready to start. I am allergic to nuts and seeds – can you advise the best substitute please.

Happy to take fish oil, but not sure about the other things, are they necessary.
    Many thanks Liz

    1. damian

      Hi there Liz,

You don’t need to have nuts and seeds in the program – though these are optional snacks you could have some fruit/berries and yoghurt if you really need to snack. you probably won’t need to though. all supplements are optional – BUT they all help you achieve a great result.

  45. gemma walker

    hi,
are the mp3’s downloadable to go onto an ipod? i clicked on the download button and it just plays them online

    gemma

    1. damian

HI there Gemma, great question. if you right click (PC) or control click (Mac) on the link and “save linked file as” you can then add them to iTunes and then on to your iPod. πŸ™‚

  46. Kayla Nunn

    Hi Guys,

I have a couple of questions to ask before I began.

Am I right when I say I should be following the winter plan? and does the 7 day plan just get repeated 3 times & nothing changes during the 21 days from the plan? And lastly for exmaple when it says do 5 squats then walk for 5 mins and repeat 5 times, does it mean 5 squats, 5 mins walking, 5 squats, 5 mins walking and so on until you have completed it 5 times? Silly questions but I thought I better be 100% sure on what im doing.

    Thanks heaps,
    Kayla

    1. damian

      Hey Kayla,

you can follow the summer or the winter plan – and if you like you can mix it up, change protein types, mix the veggies around, have a dinner for lunch and lunch for breaky. you could also just use 2 or 3 of the dinners and have them every day if you like or one of the breakies and have that every day πŸ™‚

The exercise – you are correct πŸ™‚ you could do more if you like .

  47. Sheryl Duffy

    Hi Damian
You have mentioned recipes by email a couple of times – when are these sent to us – have been going 5 days now?
    Cheers
    Sheryl

  48. dagglepuss

    Hi there,
My wife has agreed to do the 21day challenge with me but she is dairy intolerant, can she just cut the dairy items out or could you recommend an alternative? Also, I really hate Kumara, can I substitute that for something else?
    Cheers

    1. damian

      Hey Daggleplus,

Great idea to substitute the kumara – try pumpkin! happy for your wife to cut out the dairy! go for it! there is no real substitution. just leave it out.

        1. damian

          Hey Dagglepuss,

the cravings should only take a day or two really to subside.. you may have an emotional attachment to a bit of bread πŸ™‚

  49. Maureen Wood

    Hi There
I am going to do this 21day programme. Decided to try a breakfast today to see how I would go. Eggs, spinach and sprouts just aren’t me! Managed to get through it but only just!Taste is all wrong for me.
Can I do the fruit, yoghurt, lsa option each day? all other meals on plan are pretty much what i’m already eating but I have carbs with it. (portions wrong tho!). Cheers Maureen

    1. damian

Hey Maureen! πŸ™‚ yeah do the fruit yoghurt and LSA every day if you like. you must have Type A blood! πŸ™‚ have fun and let us know how you go! Damian

  50. Krissy Perry

Not very user friendly…The previous screens all said ‘need some answers’ and to click on that above but it led nowhere. Then this window appears below 130 responses instead of at the top. Mmmmm.
    Anyway

I eat no red meat. Am I able to use homemade hummus (chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon-juice, tumeric) as my protein portion?
    Thanks

    1. damian

Hello Krissy, thanks for the feedback.

No – you can use eggs, fish, chicken, tofu, turkey as your protein portions. you may also use hummus to supplement but not as your sole source of protein – it is not substantial enough.

      Damian

  51. Deb Gardner

Hi just about to start the 21 day diet. Can I boil the eggs for breakfast, also do you have the yoghurt and strawberries before exercise then the breakfast? The frittata has cream in it I don’t see that in the food list and lastly how do I get receipes.
    thanks Debbie

    1. damian

      Hi there Deb,

The Break fast is 1-2 strawberries and a dessert spoon of yoghurt – this is done before exercise only in the morning if you exercise.
You can boil the eggs if you like – you are better to soft boil them if you can.
You can have the cream – it works πŸ™‚

The recipes are on the site and will come in your emails πŸ™‚

      1. Deb Gardner

Hi I signed up on the 9th and have had no emails or receipes yet, you say they are on the site “where” I can’t find them.would be very helpfull to have some receipes
        thanks
        Deb

  52. lisadillon

    Hi
I am in the members area but I still don’t have the pdf of the 21 day blitz programme – how do I get this? Thanks

    1. damian

      Hi there Lisa,

Does it say that you are logged in? if so – go to Members Downloads, and you will see a heap of things to listen to and download.

please let me know if you have difficulty.

      Damian info@slimyou.com

  53. Luana Leiataua

    Hi,

Can I start this programme whenever I want or do I have to start from the day I sign up?

Will I still have access to the resources after the 3 weeks?

    Thanks,

    1. damian

      Hi there Luana,

Yeah you can start it at any stage – when you sign up – you have access to the site for 2 months.

      Damian

      1. Luana Leiataua

        Ok thank you for that,
        Sorry another few questions

Also with the cleanse preparation phase do you do this for 4 days before starting the blitz or while you are doing the blitz?

And are the shopping lists that you have listed are the quantities etc for the whole week?

        Thanks,
        Luana

        1. damian

HI there Luana – do it during the program πŸ™‚ the shopping lists are guides – pretty close to spot on – your palm is your measurement… this is the most accurate guide for portion control.

  54. Orla Sievwright

I have to avoid supplements with Vit D or calcium, what are the main nutrients I need to be supplementing?

    1. damian

      Hi there Orla,

Please get the Omega Oil and avoid the multi vitamin – it has both Calcium and Vit D in it. the Uroplex may help you if you have fluid retention.

      Damian

  55. kristine evans

Hi, getting organised to start the 21 day challenge, I m a breast feeding mum (8 month old baby) and i m wondering if i am able to still use the colon cleanse and other recommended supplements or if there is an alternative that i should try please??

    1. damian

Hi there Kristine – we don’t generally recommend the program for breast feeding mums because the weight loss is so rapid. but if you are to do it, please be conscious of your milk flow and your hydration. all of the supplements are safe for your baby. Damian

  56. nadine reilly

    Hiya,

Day 2 of the 21 day challenge and just want to know if I can snack on the allowed fruit list?

    cheers, nadine

    1. damian

      Hi there Nadine,

YEP sure can… but if you wait another day or two you won’t be hungry between meals… but you can snack if you want to πŸ™‚

let us know how you go!

      Damian

  57. janp

I am finding the 3 palm size portions of veges per day a bit low, my palm size is very small 7cm x 8cm I love my veges and feel a bit deprived. Am I able to increase it a little bit.

  58. Emily Sommerville

    Hi

Can I substitute my morning eggs or fruit with a protein shake? I was using one previously. It is Scult by Horleys

    Thanks πŸ™‚
    Emily

  59. Claire Cooney

    Hi

Looking at the diet plan I see that there are a lot of eggs to be consumed. I can stomach a few eggs per week, but of all foods eggs and offal are by no means my favourite! Is there an alternative to eggs? Also, can the salmon be tinned or does it have to be fresh?

    Many thanks
    Claire

    1. damian

Hi there Claire – all of the meals can be interchanged around to suit your needs and desires. feel free to use the plan in which ever way you like. Salmon is always best fresh, but you can use the tin if you like.

  60. Kim Wilkes

Hi, I am wanting to start the programme but I have quite a few questions.
What can I substitute the fish and salmon with?
Can I eat Kiwifruit, I see that in one of the answers you recommended using Kiwi fruit if Pears not available but I didnt see kiwifruit in the food list.
Can I use olive oil when it says macadamia or sesame oil.
Do I need to cook fritata or can I make another meal out of eggs and veges?
Please can you help, It might be easier to call as I have a lot of questions.
    Thanks

    1. damian

Substitue the fish and the salmon for any other protein source – tofu, red meat, chicken, turkey…
Yes you can use kiwi fruit if you like – the foods on the list are the best ones for the program but if you want some kiwi fruit – go for it πŸ™‚
Yes you can use olive oil… just don’t cook with it.
You can make any of the recipes on the food plan if you like.

Kim simply follow the program – it works. let us know how you go.

    2. Kim Wilkes

      Hi
I have been taking Chromium tablets from health shop for the last month and have found that they really help stop my cravings. Can I still take these? Also, just wondering why I can’t cook with the olive oil? Is that why I need sesame and macadamia oil?
      Thanks

      1. damian

Hey Kim – Olive oil is SO good for you, but not when cooked. Olive Oil should be had raw and not cooked with. Macadamia Oil for cooking on medium heat – sesame for flavour not for cooking πŸ™‚

      2. Kim Wilkes

        Hello
Am I still ok to take the Chromium tablets that I have been taking to help with food cravings? They have worked really well for me and I would like to keep taking them if possible.
        Thanks

  61. Julie Corbett

hi on day 3 and going OK but have a few questions:

    1. is a snack after dinner OK? say a few berries and natural full fat yoghurt?
    2. I did the Colozone for 2 days but felt a bit ill so had a days break – is it OK to do in 2 x 2day spurts?
    3. around the end of the 21 days i have to go to a work dinner and its ‘indian curry night’- what would be the best option? obviously I can ask for veges and avoid rice and naan but apparently tandoori chicken is a good choice? any tips?
    4. i have omega 3 caplets not liquid – is that OK and how many do you recommend i take a day?
    thanks πŸ™‚

    1. damian

      Hi there Julie!

a few berries an yoghurt is fine – just not close to bed… can you exercise at night?
      2 x 2 is great πŸ™‚ no problems πŸ™‚
Tandoori chicken and Saag Paneer are excellent choices πŸ™‚
Take 1 x 1000mg fish capsule per 10kg of body weight. that is the current recommendation πŸ™‚ or 1tsp of fish oil liquid.

  62. Lesley Keenan

How do I save the MP3 download? I haven’t had time to start the program and my time will soon run out?

    1. damian

      ok πŸ™‚

so right click on the link to play and then click save file as – choose your directory and you are good to go πŸ™‚

  63. Susan McLachlan

    Hi
On day 3, how long until the ketostix change colour?
I am a vegetarian and have used tofu or cheese the last couple of nights instead of meat, is there anything else I could use or can I just drop the protein (meat) section of the meal?

    1. damian

HI there Susan πŸ™‚ your sticks may not ever change colour. what sort of cheeses are you using? do you eat fish? are you having beans and legumes?

      1. Susan McLachlan

Used Edam on the baked kumara. Have not been eating any legumes but have found a recipe for quinoa and black beans, would this suffice?

        1. damian

Hi there Susan – try feta or boccincini for your cheese options if you can – they are better. I love the sound of the quinoa and the black beans πŸ™‚

  64. Becci Lougher

Hi, Have just joined the 21 day body blitz…do we have to wait for info to come via email before starting or are we just to use the planners on website? I note in the summer one there is not a lot of fruit included…can that be substituted for the nuts ?

Also I am training up to 15 hours a week including endurance bike rides and runs….so I have to refuel while doing this…Am I still ok to have my normal sports nutrition with this programme? ie electrolytes, gels etc?

    1. damian

Hey Becci πŸ™‚ everything is downloaded and downloadable from the website.

Electrolytes yes for sure, gels you don’t need. Use fruit – an apple or pear will do the same job. in terms of fruit – this program doesn’t have a lot of space for fruit – the 112daychallenge does though πŸ™‚

  65. Liz

Have made a curry recipe, want to check ok before eating.
Tomatoes, peppers, onions, aubergine cooked until squishy. Added spices and garam marsala. Add chicken and simmer. Serve on spinach bed and use yogurt to make a cucumber and tomato ratia. Hope its good to go as smells wonderful?
PS just finished first week and been feeling full so all good. πŸ™‚

  66. KP

    Hi Damain,

Bought this challenge in June.. Starting it this week.

    1. I have a habit of drinking apple cider vinegar with warm water first thing in the morning. Can i still continue that?

    2. I have the pdf which I downloaded when I bought it. Do I need to register somewhere and will I get further information during these 21 days?

    1. damian

Hey KP, have you logged into the site? at some stage you would have done that to get access to the PDF – use that log in again and you can get access to everything

  67. Rachel Constantine

    Hey guys,

I have a recipe from Annabel Langbein for a south east asian curry base and it’s amazing on fish or chicken. Ingredients include onion, ginger, garlic, chilli, cumin, coriander and coriander seed, fish sauce, tumeric, lime zest, Shrimp Paste and advises to use Grapeseed or Rice Bran Oil.

Question 1: Is Shrimp paste permissable?
Question 2: Is Rice Bran Oil ok/what would be a good alternative? and
Question 3: As a curry however, you have to make it with Coconut Cream. Any alternatives you can suggest? Yoghurt perhaps?

    Only on Day 1!!!

    Thanks πŸ™‚

          1. Rachel Constantine

Ugh, sorry, another post!!! I guess I could use Coconut Oil instead if Coconut Cream is allowed?! – That worries me a lot!!! I may even do Lite coconut milk. I thought Coconut Cream is really bad for you?

        1. damian

Yeah Avo oil is GREAT – macadamia oil is fantastic you can get it from all supermarkets πŸ™‚ in NZ i recommend the Cathedral Cove macadamia oil

  68. julie leech

I started the 21 day blitz today, I just wondered why is it not good to cook with olive oil? I did try the macadamia oil but it was not to my taste and I felt ill for the day! Can I cook with avocado oil and does it have a strong taste?

I just wanted to double check that it is ok to mix up the lunch and dinners from different days, as some seem to have totally different quantities of veg?

Is it a palm size of protein And a hand size of veg/fruit Per meal?

    1. damian

HI there Julie – yeah you can use Avocado oil πŸ™‚ you don’t have to cook with any oil – you could use coconut oil if you like. Olive oil shouldn’t be cooked with because of the heating of the Polyunsaturated Fats.

    2. damian

You can definitely mix and match your meals and your portions are 1 palm of protein per meal and a whole big hand of veggies/salad/fruit

  69. laura evans

    Hi there,

I do not eat or enjoy eating eggs – and I have noticed there is alot of eggs in the eating plan. Can I replace eggs with anything else?

  70. jodie

Hi guys just wondering if it is ok to use balsamic on any meal? And is it ok to substitue the crunchy bean with mung beans as i cant seem to stomach them? or is it ok to leave them out altogether?
    Thanks Jodie

  71. ladyinred

    Hi there,
I’m allergic to seafood can i just replace this with the lean meat and chicken instead?
    Thanks Tracey

  72. MMogford

Hi, I am preparing for the challenge and am pleased to read a comment that fruit and yoghurt is fine for breakfast, can’t do spinach and spropts BLEH.
I go to spin twice a week and squash twice a week, and am looking to lose round 5 kgs, I’m worried the food intake energy wise isn’t going to be enough for the high aerobic activities I do – I don’t want to be passing out – should I be worried?

    Thanks Maxine

    1. damian

Nah – you’ll be fine! take some fruit in case you feel a bit light headed. I do more than that per week and i eat this way – you can do it.

  73. Kim Wilkes

    Hi
I just need to check that my portion sizes are ok.\
    Breakfast, 2 Dessert spoon yoghurt
2 dessert spoon blueberries, LSA, 1 apple. Is this too much?
Dinner – by then i have had most my protein so i have a small amount of chicken and a BIG plate of veges. My husband thinks its too bigger portion if I want to lose weight. Is that ok or is it only meant to be a hand size of veges. I have been having brocolli, lettuce, sprouts, quarter avocado, cucumber and carrot.
    Thanks

    1. Kim Wilkes

Also, you will probably roll your eyes at this question, but, am I allowed a sqwirt of honey in with my stir fried veges. I cook the veges, take mine out, then my husband leaves his in the wok and he puts honey in his. Do I need to take mine out before he puts the honey in. Also, one more question, Yams, are they ok?

    2. damian

Hi there Kim – your breakie sounds awesome! Your dinner sounds great too… the plate of veggies should be a portion that is equivalent to the amount of veggies that would fit in your hands if they were cupped together.

  74. Fiona Farquhar

this is day 6 of the challenge and all is going great, So far have lost 2kg, yeah.
I cant eat any seafood so have been subing with other protiens, is that ok. should I be taking any thing instead?

  75. Sarah Kull

    Hi,

I have just been through the menu planner and getting all organised to start, very exciting! I just wonder, for the winter menu it has 24 eggs for the week, this seems like ALOT of eggs, the last diet I went on was a max of 6 eggs a week, is this ok????????????

  76. Megan

    Hi Damien
Just wanted to know I love water I add a lemon in my 1 litre camelback and drink about 3, gym days 5-6 a day. Is there such thing as too much water in a diet????

    1. damian

what you are doing sounds very good to me Megan – it is possible to get too much water for sure – the equation is 25mls-35mls (if exercising) per kg of body weight.

  77. alta els

I tried to read through all the questions to find my answer but gave up half way, sorry if I repeat something that has been ask. My question is withregards to the ketostix. Do I understand it right that as long as it is anything below the last two blocks you are fine? If it is eg 4 does it mean you loose more weight than when it is 0?

    1. damian

      Hi there Alta els,

Ketostix dont measure the speed of weight loss they measure the number of ketones present in your urine. The Ketostix are there to ensure you don’t produce too many ketones. 4 and below is good.

  78. Sue Moore

    Hi there,
I am onto Day 9 of the challenge and I have lost 3 kgs so far…. Yippee…. It is incredible because I feel like I am eating quite a bit, but when I hop on the scales my weight has dropped.
I was also wondering when we start to receive the recipes via e-mail?
    Cheers,
    Sue πŸ™‚

  79. Emma Compton

With the eggs for breakfast do you mean eggs including the yolk or just the egg whites? I have heard the yolk is bad for you. Is that true?

  80. pjoynes

    Hi Damian,

I’m getting geared up to start the 21 day challenge and just want to check a couple of things. I’ve seen the recipe for the frittata, is it ok to use rice milk instead of cream? I have a 2 and nearly 1 year old and want to make food that everyone can eat as much as possible but my youngest has allergies and can’t have dairy, soy or nuts.

Also, how do you actually poach a pear / apple? Do you just cover with water and boil it? Do you cut it up first / leave whole?

I work a couple of days a week and have to leave at 5.30am so don’t think I’ll have time for cooking those mornings – what would be my best breakfast? Fruit and yoghurt?

Is green tea ok? I usually drink a cup on my way to work.

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get good results and as a busy Mum need to be prepared before I start!

    1. damian

      hey pjoynes,

please if you like use Rice milk – that is fine. To poach fruit you add it to a small amount of water and simmer for 15-30mins. i don’t chop the fruit but you could πŸ™‚
Fruit and yoghurt and LSA is perfect for those early mornings.
Green tea is good provided you have food in your tummy first.

Thank you for the questions πŸ™‚

  81. Deb Gardner

Hi can you use tin Tuna in water with your salad to vary Chicken? Still waiting for emails and receipes to come. Nothing on the site but the Fritata. Signed up on the 10th…..

        1. damian

          HI there Deb,

Yes you can certainly use Walnut oil – but please don’t cook with it. It is very high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and is not good for you if it is cooked.

  82. Mary Brunning

Hi, I’m on day 4 of the blitz, I have already lost a couple of cm’s from my waist – Yay!! I have found that my nose has been running non-stop the last few days, is this a side effect of the detox or have I probably just got a cold??
    Thanks, Mary.

  83. Kim Wilkes

Hi, just thought I would let you know I have lost 3.5Kg in the 1st 6 days. I couldn’t wait until day 7 to weigh. Really happy with results. Thanks.
    Kim

  84. Liz

    Hi
I am having the fruit and yoghurt for breakfast as I am always in a rush in the morning so find this easier. I can’t eat nuts or seeds and I have realised I am missing my protein, what can I use?
Also in week two and not having big results on the scales although I do feel better, am I doing something wrong?
    Ta

    1. damian

      HI there Liz,

sounds like you are still doing a good job. The yoghurt will still have protein in it. May i suggest that you have a boiled egg too in the morning. you can boil 6 at a time and then eat them as required. These make a great snack too πŸ™‚

  85. debbiep

hi…im just about to start the programme, and are excited. I havent listened to the audio yet, but is there a set programme, to eat exactly the right amounts. and also why the summer/winter lists??? Thanks

    1. damian

Hi there Debbie – there is a program to follow and the meal planners are split into summer and winter menus and have corresponding shopping lists. read and listen to as much as you can and it will all make sense. πŸ™‚

  86. loz1982

Hi Damo. I’ve just completed the 21day challenge (whoop!), and want to continue the program for another couple of weeks with a few changes, I would like to add smoothies to my week. What kinda of protien powder can you recommend?

    Thanks in advance,

    Loz πŸ™‚

    1. damian

      Great Idea Loz.

Look for a WPI (Weigh Protein Isolate) – you can get a protein powder called Ketoslim from us at info@slimyou.com. (it comes in choc or vanilla) or you can get Isoweigh from a pharmacy made by Pharma Foods.

      well done Loz!

      1. loz1982

Thanks Damian. I’ll check out those protein powder ideas, I don’t really want any with a flavour or very high in carbs. What do you think about pea protein, from Vital greens?

And do you like the idea of the paleo eating plan and cross fit?

        Thanks again,
        Loz πŸ™‚

        1. damian

I love pea protein – it seems to be pretty good. Paleo is great for the right person and Cross fit is a great exercise program!

  87. Michelle Dagg

    hi
I have printed off the info sent to me. I do not eat chicken, beef, lamb or pork but eat fish. Do you have a pesco-tarian option?
    thanks

    1. damian

      Hello Michelle,

A lot of the meals are veggies and added protein.

So you could substitute the proteins that you eat for the ones that you don’t eat. So add eggs, yoghurt, fish, tofu, legumes with quinoa and nuts and seeds to the mix. it will still work. in fact i reckon you should lose heaps of weight eating this way.

  88. jodie

Hi Guys first week down and 2.2kg’s lighter. Feeling great and are looking forward to seeing the results after week two. Being a type o blood my body is enjoying not having the carbs which were creeping into my old eating ways more and more due to lazy choices. Another good thing to come of it is my daugther now loves salmon which is just great.
One question are we able to have pumpkin instead of kumera for a change?
    Thanks Jodie

    1. damian

Well Done Jodie! great results! especially on the family front πŸ™‚

yeah you can have pumpkin in place of the Kumara.

  89. jessieh

    Hey Damian,

I have had some great results so far with the body blitz loosing 3.1kgs in the first week and weighing myself tomorrow to see the results for the second week.
What I was wondering is what’s your take on dried fruit (e.g. dried apricots, apples, prunes, pears etc). I have a bit of a sweet tooth and before I did the blitz I would eat dried fruit. Is it OK to have dried fruit as one of my snacks? Also what sort of portions size should I have it this is allowable?

    Thanks
    Jessie πŸ™‚

    1. damian

      Hey Jessie,

Dried fruit is like confectionary without added sugar. its not that ideal. A few raisins and currants would be ok, but you are better off mixing them with Nuts and seeds to help keep your energy levels up and fat being burnt. Too much dried fruit will slow your fat loss.

  90. Keela Atkinson

Hi just had a couple of questions, started the programme about 10 days ago, in that time i have a wedding, birthday party on the weekends. So have had to change my food for those days in saying that i have lost 2.1kgs. Am planning on getting back on track this weekend, do you have any other options for breakfast, i have been doing the eggs, and the fruit salad, but just wanted some other suggestions. I have done the poached pear thing, do you eat the cinnimon stick? Also i just started the Mag last night, when i went this morning, there was a lot of water with the other stuff, is that how it is suppose to be. How long should i take this stuff 3 days. Also i made the fitta last night, it was yummu as, best of the kids enjoyed it to. Will be having for tea tonight too. Thanks
    Keela

    1. damian

      Hey Keela,

awesome! great effort including the interruptions! The colon clear you take for 3 days – and you bowels will certainly be ‘loose’. Those breakies are the best ones for the 21 days πŸ™‚ dig in πŸ™‚

  91. Megan Whitaker

    Damian,
I’ve nearly finished the 21 day challenge, which has been great and just the kick to healthy living I needed – thank you. Going back to real life I was thinking of eating a low GI/High Protein diet from now on – is that right? I am down to my ideal weight so really just need to maintain it. I am also wondering about calcium and how much you should have as part of the “Palm Method” – and if there are types of calcium that are better than others. Cheers

    1. damian

Well done Megan! πŸ™‚ log on to http://www.thewellnessguys.com and check out the free info there. The best way to eat is according to the Palm Method – this is protein, carb and fat perfectly balanced. So definitely LOW GL (Glycemic load) not necessarily GI – GI pertains to the speed not the amount of sugar/carbohydrate released into the blood stream from a meal. In terms of calcium – eating fruit, veggies, sprouted beans and nuts and seeds you will get good amounts of calcium – if you include yoghurt you will get loads of calcium πŸ™‚ well done!

      1. Megan Whitaker

The Wellness Guys is a great website – loving the podcasts…thanks so much, you really have changed the way I think about eating and health…although not convinced I’ll ever be a runner!!!

  92. Kim Wilkes

Hi, help, my breath stinks. My family hassle me about it which I don’t mind but my friends arent saying anything and I know that they will be finding it offensive. I have been taking lemon with water and sugar free gum.

    1. damian

Hi there Kim – this can happen if you are burning ketones – can you please check your ketones. if you are burning ketones eat a bit more food. this should work.

  93. Jodie Black

Hi, I am doing the 21day challenge and I don’t eat meat except fish. Is a tin of tuna ok to include for a protein? Also I am a bit worried about the amount of eggs per week I could end up consuming, is there any limit on this?

    1. damian

HI there Jodie – Fish is fine, as is tofu and the combining of quinoa and legumes for protein. The amount of eggs is perfectly fine.

  94. chrisbax

    Hi Damian

I have purchased the Omega 3 liquid, but i feel sick and can taste it still 5 hours later. Is there something i can take to mask the ‘oil’ taste? or should i take capsules instead. Thanks

    Chris.

    1. damian

Hi there Chris – Take it with food and keep it in the fridge – this should help. It will also help to have some lemon juice just before it

  95. Margaret Black

I’m lactose intolerant and not keen on soy products so can I substitute cows feta and yoghurt for goat’s (if I can find it)? Is goat’s milk lactose free?

    1. damian

HI there Margaret – all animal milk products contain Lactose – some are better tolerated – such as goats, buffalo and sheep milk. It should be easy to find in deli’s and supermarkets. the alternative is to leave all cheese out…

  96. sitruc

    Hi

I would like to eat less meat and more vegetarian food to replace it. I saw a comment on β€œNeed some answers?” about what can be eaten instead of meat – can you please explain that to me a bit more – what exactly can I replace the meat with and what quantities should I have?

    Beverley

    1. damian

      Hi there Beverley,

with eating less meat – do you include fish and eggs in that equation? you could have tofu or tempeh. if you are to have vegetarian meals its tough but definitely healthy. you need to combine quinoa or brown rice and legumes to get full amino acid delivery.

  97. Tuiarna Merwood

    Hi Daimian,
I am getting ready to start the plan, Can you clarify for me, the items on the menu plan can be substituted for another on the same list??? Chicken for eggs or cheese???
Also I am currently doing weight watchers online I have lost 7 kgs so far with a way to go but I am into week 8 of a 12 week sign up.Can I do this now before summer for a boost as I have 20kgs to go on my quest?? I believe that it should make no difference to the weightwatchers.
I have been having trouble with the link from my email to accept emails from you too…….

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    1. damian

      HI there Tuiarna,

you can use any of the proteins in any of the recipes absolutely πŸ™‚

Feel free to do this as a booster for your weight loss – you will excellerate your weight watchers progress.

can you email Phyllis on info@slimyou.com regarding the difficulty you are having with the login and she will fix it for you.

      Damian

  98. pjoynes

    Hi Damian,

Can you please tell me why you prefer not to use rice bran oil to cook with – notice you always use olive… I thought r.b was meant to only release good fats, have high smoke point…

    Thanks
    Penny

    1. damian

      Hey Penny,

RBO is heat and chemically extracted from the bran, bleached and deodorised before it is put in the bottle. I prefer to not cook with olive oil, but you can – its better to cook with Macadamia oil.

  99. Sallyanne Walker

Hi there, I am finally about to start my challenge and just wanted to ask a couple of questions. Can I have cashews or hazelnuts? Also, are we able to ‘mix’ the summer & winter eating plans? And finally, I noticed the food list in the challenge booklet doesn’t include some of the foods on the meal planner (kumera, pears & i also noticed you said we can have kiwifruit on another post) – are there any other foods that have been left off?? Thanks, Sally

    1. damian

      Hi there Sallyanne,

you can definitely mix your menu’s up. thats a great idea. try to stick to the foods that are on the list. Kiwi fruit, pear and kumara you are right are exceptions you can have them. I wouldn’t have cashews and hazelnuts at this point.

      Damian

  100. Nicola Thompson

    Hi

I am coming to the end of my second week, I have lost close to 5kgs which is great, but the Ketostix have gone from the recommended level of 4 to 8. Is this OK or is there something else I need to do.

    Thanks

    1. damian

Hey Nicola – can you please eat some more food πŸ™‚ thats all you need to do. get it back down to 4 or less.

  101. Diana Marks

    Hi Damian,

I’ve got about 8 days left on this programme and I’m pretty blown away.

I’ve tried Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig and Kate Morgan and all sorts of other things. They all left me feeling deprived. I lost 13 kilos last year eating low fat and low GI and doing about 2 hours exercise a day. That worked but was really tough to maintain.

I recently gained some of that weight back and have been a little lost knowing where to start again. This programme is fantastic because I’m not going mad with craving for anything. I’m even managing to do without salt which is huge for me.

I’ve been treating myself to the nicest things I can find that are on your list – eg free range chicken, rather than the other type.

Thank you so much because I’ve got rid of the 3 kgs that made starting again seem insurmountable.

The first 4 days were awful. I had a blinding headache for the first 2 and then heaving nausea for the next. I have no idea why, because I normally eat pretty healthily. But clearly there was a food addiction I wasn’t aware of.

Now I feel amazing. Like a bottle of fizz that has been shaken, just waiting for the cap to be lifted.

I initially followed the menu plan to the letter but I have a strong dislike for eggs and was literally gagging them down. When I re read the programme it dawned on me that I didn’t have to follow exactly the menu – doh!

While following that menu, I even had people to dinner and fed them exactly what was on the menu, But I added potatoes for everybody else.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks. As I would like to lose another 10 kgs from here, I will be looking to join one of your maintenance programmes.

    1. damian

      Dear Diana,

congratulations! thats an awesome result and great testimonial! thank you! Phyllis will be in touch with you to guide you in the next stage of your journey. Congratulations from all of us at Slim You. you have had a great result!

      Damian

  102. Rebecca Bright

    Hi Damian
Sorry if you have answered this question before but I can’t read all 278 πŸ™‚
I’m up to day three on the Body Blitz and feeling good. Just looking ahead to day 4 on the summer menu plan and just wanted to check that dinner does include the 3 eggs on top of the salmon – don’t want to stuff this up. Also once I finish this menu is there another one I can download or can I just plan my own meals using the guidelines and food list provided. Sorry for long comment. Bec

    1. damian

      Hi there Rebecca,

You can mix and match your meals and you can plan your own meals for sure! love that!

I hadn’t noticed the 3 extra eggs… it should say or three eggs… GREAT PICK UP.

      1. Rebecca Bright

Great, thank you. To be on the safe side I was going to leave the eggs and stick with the salmon. Four days in and feeling great and 2kgs down :-).

  103. Liz

    Hi
I completed the 21 day challenge and it has made me address my portion sizes. Eating on this plan there was no hunger pangs which was great. I lost 2.5kg which I was pretty disappointed with as my hubbie lost 8kg – however, when I measured the results showed. I lost 10cm of my waist and 5cm of each thigh. My clothes are feeling loser and it has given me the inspiration to carry on – the nice thing is after so many things in Chch being out of control, I am once again in the driving seat! Thank you. Liz

  104. Inger Sundholm

    Hi there,
I am just about to start my 21 day challenge and have read through food planner but I don’t eat fish or salmon is there something else I can have? thank you

    1. damian

Hi there Inger, if there is any protein that you don’t like or any vegetable or fruit that you don’t like – you can choose another item from the list that you would prefer. πŸ™‚

  105. debbiep

What helps best when you really feel like flushing your pipes out???
With these summer/winter plans, i know i sound silly, but you just repeat each week right??

    1. damian

Hey Debbie – to flush your pipes out use the colon clear – that is exactly what it does πŸ™‚

the menu’s are guide – you can stick to only them or you can create your own πŸ™‚

  106. debbiep

sorry i am still finding my way around the site, where do i find more recipes??
I am hoping to drop 10kg in the next few months, kick starting with your programme.
I have also signed up for a 1/2 marathon in nov.
I have also curbed my alcohol intake, which has benefited myself greatly already.

    1. damian

No probs Debbie – there are a bucket of recipes coming in the emails. The meals on the menu’s are pretty straight forward πŸ™‚

Great goals! I am sure you will gets massive kick start from the 21 days program – we’d love to know how you go πŸ™‚

  107. Sarah Abbot

    Hi
I can’t eat olive oil once its been heated because I’m get awful stomach pains from poly stat fats.
I can eat rice bran oil – is that ok on the diet?
    Sarah

    1. damian

      Hey Sarah,

Nah i wouldn’t go near Rice Bran oil – try macadamia oil or perhaps avocado oil. I prefer to cook with Coconut oil actually and use the other oils for flavour in our meals.

  108. Kathryn

    Hi,
I was wondering if you can recommend any fish oil supplements in non-liquid form? All the capsules i have found in shops and health stores are only 1000’s which i take it is not high enough? I really don’t enjoy taking the liquid…

Also, what is your opinion on honey versus sugar for hot drinks, baking etc? For long-term health i mean, not just the 21-day challenge? Im not 100% sold on Natvia…

Great challenge and overall message by the way! Really really loving it, and LOVING The Wellness Guys! – everything is easy for me so far except cutting out sugar!!

    Thanks πŸ™‚
    Kathryn

    1. damian

HI there Kathryn. I love honey as a healthy alternative – i don’t like baking at all – I too am not 100% sold on Erythritol – i am sure something will come up from it. The metagenics Meta EPA/DHA or ethical nutrients one is excellent – you need 1 capsule for every 10kgs that you weigh.

      WELL DONE!

  109. Alli

    Hi Damian and Phyllis,
I’m on day 15 and have lost 5kg so far. I still can’t bring myself to enjoy bean mix in my salads, but am loving everything else. Its funny to watch people at work comment on how nutritious my lunches are and then lament on how they should lose weight before Christmas, as they are munching down on their pie! My question is how does one sustain this? I have 6kg to go until I am my target weight and I will never be above that weight again (mostly because I hate beansprouts)but I know that rapid weight loss can go back on just as fast as it came off. What’s next? Is 112 day challenge the only option?

    1. damian

      Hi there Alli,

We have the health club and we have http://www.thewellnessguys.com and the Palm Method video. In terms of maintaining and sustaining your loss and efforts, its all explained in the last few emails πŸ™‚ Congratulations! you have achieved a GREAT result!

  110. Lisa McMillan

Hi guys! Just finished my first day of Blitz and was doing some meal planning and remembered about a favourite BBQ chicken recipe I have to give Donna Hay credit for:
Thoroughly coat chicken breast (skin and fat removed) with cinnamon and cumin spice powder. BBQ or pan-fry over medium/low heat till cooked through- any hotter temperature and it will burn the spices. . It should be dark in colour and fairly crispy but not burnt.
It tastes fantastic without the BBQ sauce calories. Yummy!

    1. damian

HI there Renee – I wouldn’t drink them ever… they are so bad for you. get used to water and teas πŸ™‚

  111. Nicola Thompson

    Hi

I have completed my 3rd week and have lost around 7 kgs, just wondering though, I haven’t received any emails, although I did sign up quite a while ago. I have signed up with the health club, is there a recipe book for that I can purchase.

What kind of cereal can I eat without having to buy WBC.

    Thanks

  112. Kathryn Moffitt

Hi I am just about to finish week 1 and was wondering about the meal planner if you just start back at day 1 for the start of week two or if there was a different one

    1. damian

      Hi there Kathryn,

yeah just recycle it – but you could try the winter menu or you could mix and match and play with what you like etc.

  113. cathb

Hi, I have completed my 21 days and one week on slowly intoducing things into my diet, I loved this programme, I don’t think I’ve ever in my life had a flat tummy even though I’ve always been relatively slim and exercised, I’ve lost between 4-5 kgs and It has come off all the places I wanted and I love not being bloated, I know that was the milk now, I used to often get the sugar shakes and feel hungry all the time but not on this programme and my hormones seem to have calmed down too and I sleep much better, I got the palm method dvd so with fruit and veg am I allowed any or is there still some to avoid? also I noticed pork wasn’t mentioned, is that not a good protien?
    Thanks heaps I feel awesome!

    1. damian

      Thats awesome Cathb!

congratulations. I’m not a fan of pork – but if you like it – you can have it. not bacon and ham though. You can have all veggies and fruits πŸ™‚ unless you look into things like the Blood Type program or the 112 Day Challenge – but it sounds like you are well under control. it is my belief that all fruits and veggies are good for you.

      WELL DONE!

  114. Angie

    Hi Damian

Is there a targeted way to lose weight around the waist? I really struggle with this. I have not got my waist below 36″. I weigh 72kgs am vegetarian, eat minimum of carbs and walk my dog every day.
I have been under a lot of stress over the past 4 years can this contribute?

    Ang

    1. damian

HI there Angie – Stress is the silent killer – you need to increase your protein and eat primarily veggies and minimal fruits. There are plenty of protein sources to select from as a vegetarian.

  115. Sarah Abbot

    Hi

I on day 2 and am coping. I used the colon clear (I ordered from your website) last night and nothing has happened. I woke up during the night to pee but my bowel haven’t moved. Is that ok?

    1. Sarah Abbot

I didn’t use the colon clear that night but did again last night! The colon clear is still not making anything happen. Is it ok to keep using it?

      Also are oranges allowed?

      1. damian

        Hi there Sarah,

Keep trying it will work – take it 1 heaped tsp in water then take a shot of lemon juice then 3 more glasses of water tonight – it is going to com out!

i wouldn’t be having oranges on this program πŸ™‚

  116. pjoynes

    Hi Damian,

I have a few days to go on the 21 day challenge. Just wondered if you have a cereal recipe for when I’m done – I do kind of miss cereal for breakfast,

    Thanks
    Penny

  117. steem924

    Hi there

I am about to start the 21 day challenge, however I have an intolerance to eggs and dairy. The dairy is fine as there are lots of lactose free and soy options. The recipes and meal planners contain a lot of eggs – how would I work around this?

    Thanks

    1. damian

      HI there Steem924,

I reckon the best way to get around the eggs is to use the options in the planner that don’t contain eggs. i would suggest that its probably going to be best for you to get creative with the foods that you are allowed rather than relying too heavily on the planner. Steem924, if you come up with any awesome recipes – send them in – if we print it we will give you your program fee back! πŸ™‚

    1. damian

Hi there Dori, yeah it is fine – fresh is best – oil or water is safe πŸ™‚ any fish is good πŸ™‚

  118. Melanie Chitham

    Hi
I have just finished week one of the 21 day programme and feeling pretty good except I do a full on Zumba/Dance fitness class twice a week in the evening at 6 and both nights this week, even tho I had followed the programme, felt very lacking in energy during the class, my legs felt very heavy, I am reasonably fit for a 59 year old and dont usually feel like this. Just wondering if I Need a better snack mid afternoon than a few nuts ….if so what should I eat. Usually have had a banana or 2 . Thanks

    1. damian

Hi there Melanie πŸ™‚ you are correct – add some more fruit to the afternoon snack – not banana’s perhaps use apples or grapes.

    1. damian

Hey Julie! πŸ™‚ you could use a bit of honey if you like… but i wouldn’t use too much πŸ™‚

  119. Liz Winters

Hi, is it just me or is this website a bit confusing? I want to ask a question so went to the ‘need some answers’ page where there appears to be nowhere to ask my question?! I tried the ‘contact us’ option but was advised that this is only for tech support and pointed me back to the ‘need some answers’ page….hmmmm, what am i doing wrong?
    Regards
    Liz

    1. damian

Hi there Liz – you are doing it all right – i got this message. Just do what you did and post your question. πŸ™‚ thanks

    1. damian

      Hi there Michelle,

Crunchy Bean Combo is a sprout mix – its found with the sprouts in your grocery store or supermarket. Tamari is wheat free soy sauce.

  120. Janene McCarthy

I’m not planning to start until the 1st of November – can I begin to receive the emails from then?

    1. damian

    Hi Damian,

I have a couple of questions… the protein amounts that you give on the plan i.e. 150 g chicken is that raw or cooked. and also on day 4 dinner it says to haver a salmon fillet and kumera + 3 eggs… just want to make sure that it is correct to have the eggs as well as the salmon.

    thanks
    Sally

    1. damian

GREAT PICK UP! i need to fix that! it shouldn’t be the salmon and the eggs… i don’t know how i typed that in – i must have been hungry. The chicken weight is raw weight πŸ™‚ Thanks Sally, Damian

Hi Damian, my name is Charne,a 47 yr male. I have lost 6kg in three weeks and its so good to see the fat melting away. I am on my 5th week now and my weight seems to have stablised at 86kg. I still have 6kg to go. I am doing cardio workouts daily to speed things up a little.

The lemon, yoghurt nuts apple breakfast routine works amazingly well. Who would of thought that a few small nuts as a snack can take any munchy cravings away. Overal a brilliant, healthy way of living and the results have been great. Thank you

    Hi Damian,

I’m on day 7 and feeling AWESOME with a loss of 2kgs at that. Thank you so much for such an easy meal plan to follow it’s been great.

I can’t wait to see how I’m looking and feeling come day 21.

    Thanks
    Hylton

HI there Manut – its in the supermarket in the fresh food area – near the sprouts. Its called Crunchy Bean Combo. πŸ™‚

    Hi there
Just wanted to leave a note about how happy I am with the 21 day diet so far!
I have done just 5 days and noticed my legs looked a little better, so couldn’t resist weighing in and measuring. 2 kgs down, 4cm loss on my thighs and 5cm loss on my waist, in just five days, it’s incredible. I didn’t take the water retention product or the colon cleanser so the loss is just from the diet. I know this rate will slow down, but I’m enjoying the food as well, so that’s fine πŸ™‚
I have never had much luck in getting past two days of low carb diets, as I have normally felt hungry and faint and have had too many cravings, so have given into a piece of toast which soon leads to a whole pig out! But I have been full, no faintness so far and no cravings, not even for coffee, which I was having three times a day at least. It’s not hard to stick too and the results are great!
    Thanks guys πŸ™‚
    Taryn

    Hi there,

I have enrolled for the 21days challenge and i still haven’t received anything for it. Can you please let me know what the diet plan should be as i am vegetarian and also no eggs so the menu planner is quiet hard to follow at the moment. Thanks

    1. damian

      hello Poonam,

the program is designed for people who eat animal proteins. our 112 Day Challenge has Vegetarian options. please contact support@slimyou.com to discuss this and we would be happy to refund your money.

Hi, on day 5 and feeling good and shed a couple of kg’s so thats gotta be good. Just wondering I know its normal to feel light headed but today for the first time at work I felt like I was going to faint in the afternoon, is there something I can take when I have this feeling or is just water the key. Also can I chew sugar free chewing gum, I use this to curb the sweet teeth. I haven’t been using colon clear so not sure if this is the problem but have ordered this. Thanks again πŸ™‚

    1. damian

HI there Pam! well done πŸ™‚ you can chew gum if you like. its better to try not to be always chewing… its a bad habit. the colon clear really helps! i am sure you will have found that! πŸ™‚ with regards to the light headedness. this can be due to dehydration or also low blood sugar. perhaps you may need to make your meals smaller and more frequent…? Damian

I have just completed day 7 on the 21 day challenge and am over the moon to say I lost 5.2kgs. I never ate breakfast and rarely lunch, but I have been really good and have noticed how much more energy I have. Thanks heaps for a wonderful and easy to follow programme.

    Hi all

I have been doing the 21 day challenge for 6 days, havent weighed yet. I have been using the Ketostix sticks to measure the ketone, i am still on 0.5 dose this mean I am eating too much. and also can you change the order of days for the meals or is it a set program.

    1. damian

Hi there Anne! .5 is great! well done. you can mix and match the days, you don’t need to stick to the order – just mix it up if you like πŸ™‚

Hi Damien, i am doing the 21 day challegne for the 2nd time, first time around i lost 4.5kg, (i would like to loose another 15kgs) felt fantastic, blood presure lower, hot flushes less. i was however diappointed that my cholesterol had not changed after 21days,it has been high for the last 5yrs, (i am not medicated) i was VERY keen to join 112day but unfortunately the reality is i can’t afford the cost. (beleive me i seriously looked at my options, and spoke at length several times with Phyllis). my gynecologist is concerned about my calcium levels as i started menopause at 43yrs (i’m soon to be 50)i am gluten and dairy free and have been for 5yrs. she doesn’t want me on supplements and would prefer the intake via diet.(i mentioned what i was doing with you guys) i am booked for a bone scan this week as a check. can you help me? Can i keep carbo free and just revisit 21day regularly, i would love some more night time meal recipies, breakfast is a meal i struggle with there are only so many ways to have eggs, tomatoes, and vegie frittata. i’m not great on yogit. can i get some from you? also with my water intake is there a certain time in the day that i should stop drinking to limit the times i go in the night?(it can be up up 3 times.)
    Pip πŸ™‚

    1. damian

HI there Pip! well done – πŸ™‚ i love to hear those sorts of results. When you get your bone scan there will be information and factors to consider based on where things are at. From a nutrition point of view, i don’t consult outside of the 112 Day Challenge, however, in a general sense higher levels of Vitamin D are incredibly important for the health of the spine and bones, possibly more important than calcium alone. Exercise is key and so is reduction in inflammation – so fish oil is ideal to help here. From a meals point of view. I have a recipe book on the http://www.downsizeme.co.nz website that you can download and use. the meals in there are great. There is a Slim You cook book coming out soon too. Damian

  131. Gendi Dwight

    Hi Damian
I saw you in Auckland – I think it was 2007/8? when I weighed at my heaviest non preggy (I think from memory). I was not in a good head space at all and did not do what you said for longer than a couple of weeks. Since then I have done SO MANY different things – some successfully and some not, but sorting my head has been a ‘big’ journey and is ongoing. I have lost about 16kg since 2007/08 and it has been up and down over that time. No matter what I tried over the years, your palm method was always the thing I went back to and would get success again. So I have just signed up for 21days (I have done it before but half heartedly!) and have ordered the ‘extras’ yesterday. 10-12kg more and I will no longer be overweight (nor obese!) and I am so much more active now too. Just wanted to say HI and will let you know how I go this time instead of just burying myself away if I hit a hurdle.
    God Bless.

    1. damian

Gendi! thank you so much for making contact! congratulations on making it back. i can’t wait to hear your success story πŸ™‚

      thank you

      Damian

    Hi Damian and Phyllis

I have completed my first week of the 21 Challenge and had my first weigh in I started off at 81.3kg and I am now 78.1kg. So far I’ve lost 3.2kg and I am feeling good about myself for the first time in ten years. Yesterday we had our monthly team lunch and I was proud that I stuck to my lamb fillet and wok toss vegs while everyone else had pizza and bread. I never thought that I would have enough self control to say no to bread and pizza. I look forward to continue this challenge and life style change.

    1. phyllis

      Hi there.

I dry roast my almonds in the oven but just wondered if this will decrease their nutritional value.

    1. phyllis

yes it would , try to do a mixture of dry roasted and plain until you wean yourself off , soaking your nuts are always good

  134. JO HANSEN

I have just started the challange and i had my first lunch today of the menu planner, 2 cups of veges, this is bigger than my hand, so which method should i be doing the hand or your menu planner

  135. virginia

    Hi Damian
Do you have an eating plan and shopping list for winter? I only seem to have the summer shopping list and some of the required veggies are very pricy this time of year.

  136. Melissa Miles

Hi there I am preparing myself to do the 21 day challenge but I am having problems finding the colozone and uroplex, I have been to 2 health shops and 2 pharmacy’s, could you please tell me where bouts in Auckland NZ can I buy these products from, really looking forward to starting the challenge but am held up now trying to find colozone and uroplex hmmmmmmmm

    1. support

You can order it through us which you will receive the next day. Go to the 21 days website to order.

  137. Karyn Kriletich

Hi Damian, I’m on day 3 of the 21 day challenge….going ok. It will be my birthday a week after I finish the challenge & would really like to be able to have an alcoholic drink…..I know alcohols not good but what would you suggest I have?? Cheers

    1. support

I would suggest a glass of red wine, however if that is not what you like then have a glass of what you do like as it is only for one night. You can then continue on with your healthy eating / drinking…:0)

  138. sharon crocker

Hello today I’m feeling very disappointed as i didnt lose any kg’s this week . Week 1 I lost 2.7kg and 1 & half inches off my waist! I was on cloud nine!! This week I have lost half inch off hips, tummy & thigh but no kg’s!

Is this normal, can this happen? I have only 2kg more to go.
I have done winter planner week 1 and summer planner week 2.
I do excessive classes everyday or swim

    Sharon

    1. damian

      HI there Sharon,

If you are exercising a lot, you may be building muscle. Don’t despair, stick to the plan. if you have only 2kg to go, keep working hard. you will get there πŸ™‚

      Damian

  139. Katrina Jamieson

    Hi Damian,

I have only just started 3 days ago but am struggling a bit with the breakfasts in the summer menu, am i able to mix the winter and summer menus together or are they in a specific order?

    thanks for your help

    Katrina πŸ™‚

  140. Fiona Teo

    Hi Damian,
I am on the 21 day challenge. I have been away and been out lots of times so I am doing the best I can. I am going down steadily. My question is – I am going away for 4 weeks next week on day 18 of the challenge can I join the 112 day challenge to see what I can eat and perhaps I can fit that plan into the travel a little easier???
    Thanks
    FionaT

    1. damian

      Hi there Fiona,

the 112 Day Challenge has now finished unfortunately. its no longer running. it would have been great to have you on board. if you can add some more veggies and fruits to your program, you may find it easier over the long term when going out πŸ™‚

      1. FionaT

        That is a pity.
How many fruit a day would you consider to be okay?
Am I increasing my vegetables to more than a hand size or not?
What are your thoughts on yoghurt?
Lastly when on the plane what do you recommend ordering
        – I have asked for gluten free. I thought that would be better than nothing – so hard. It isa couple of 20 hour flights plus a couple of 5 hour flights.
        Sorry for so many questions
        Thanks
        Fiona

        1. damian

          HI there Fiona.

no more than 2 bits of fruit per day
Keep the veggies as a big mounded handful 3 times a day
love yoghurt – full fat – not low fat and no added sugar
its really tough on a flight… its best to try to do your best with what they offer you πŸ™‚

  141. FionaT

    Hi again,
How does your forage cereal, porridge and bircher fit into weight loss for when I return?
    Thank you again
    FionaT

    1. damian

Hi there Fiona! yeah you can use the cereal and the bircher after your 21 days to keep getting great change. i know of one person who uses the porridge and has now lost 18kgs!

  142. richard blakeborough

    Hi Damian
Even though I am now eating better food – I am still eating alot! Does this habit of piling up my plate – albeit with veggies , means I can still ‘overeat’ on health??
    R

    1. damian

Hey Richard – yeah it does mean that you can eat too many calories. however it is better to eat loads of healthy ones than, a small amount of bad ones πŸ™‚

  143. nelly

    Hi Damian,

I was just wondering where you would recommend i get some receipes from. The book is great, but find it hard when there is no recommendations for meal plans

    1. damian

HI there P-Smith – there are meal planners in the members section πŸ™‚ winter and summer πŸ™‚ Damian

  144. Phoebe McDonald-Sporle

On the meal plan it says 150g of chicken. I found that if this is cooked chicken this twice the amount of protein if measured by the palm of my hand. So is this cooked or raw chicken?
