Move your waste to move your waist – Using Colon Cleanse (Magnesium Oxide)

[viddler id=f9a97ceb&w=545&h=349]

I’m talking about bowel function. It is super important to keep your bowels moving every 12 hours. Sometimes people don’t move their bowels for days, and I have met people who haven’t moved their bowels for seven days at a time!

That’s very bad, very challenging, and even dangerous. If you don’t move your bowels, you’re storing toxins and waste in your body, that can cause all sorts of cellular changes. There are a few things that you can do to work out whether or not your gut is in good health.

Passing wind or burping are clues, messages from the inside of your body, to let you know whether or not you’re healthy in your gut. Something could be stuck right in your gut, feeding parasites bugs, that manufacture stuff you’ve got to get out. This can make you fatigued, cause malnutrition through malabsorbtion, and all kinds of other issues.

That’s not what we want!

Step 1:

Make sure your bowels are moving every single day. For some people caffeine helps, so try a cup of coffee or green tea, and the ten minute rule from caffeine will stimulate their bowel movement. This is somewhat artificial, even though it is a natural stimulant to the body, however, it’s effective and it does move the bowels out. It’s not a good thing to rely on but it does work.

Step 2:

Laxatives cause over stimulation to the gut. This type of bowel movement becomes dependent and lazy. But a really good way to move the bowels is magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide will cause your bowels to flood with water and evaporate unless you dissolve the powder in water. It’s best to do this before you go to bed. It’s called  the washing machine effect and will send you to the toilet first thing in the morning for a very satisfying movement.

1 tsp magnesium oxide
½ lemon juiced in water
chase with 3-4 glasses of water
do this ½ an hour before bed

Step 3:

Now if you have cleaned out – then it’s time to think about good bacteria. There are three crucial strains, acidophillos, becidophillus, and caseophillus and are found in yoghurts, in a supplement or capsule form at health food stores, supermarkets, your naturopath, your chiropractor, and online. I use a good bacteria on a daily basis, just one capsule every single day, an excellent way to make sure your body is in good shape.

Step 4:

The fourth key point to making sure your bowels are moving properly and appropriately all the time, is to keep your hydration up. Drink as much water as you’re supposed to drink. We’ve spoken about that already in month two and it’s important not to forget it.

Hopefully you get the idea how important it is to get your bowels moving every single day, twice a day: Caffeine will stimulate them, magnesium oxide is fabulous, bacteria in your gut acidophilus, becidophilus and caseophilus  and lots of water.

Keep your guts healthy and you’ll be doing yourself and your family a favour.

    Hi Damian
Could you please clarify what does “LSA” stand for? It has been suggested in the bodyblitz meal planner.

    Thank you,

    Judy

i am on doctor prescribed laxatives due to my coeliac disease (after being taken to hospital for it a few months ago). i havn’t started a regular program of this yet and cant afford these added extras just right at the moment. is it ok to use these for ME? when and how much? they say use 1-3 times a day and i have movicol and konsyl-d? ~tks-a-lot.

      HI there Carmen,

I am not sure what your question is. we can’t give medical advice from this site. The colon clear does very effectively hydrate the bowel though.

you said you dont recommend laxatives but my doctor has prescribed them. i cant afford the colon thing so i am going to use what my doctor prescribed me during the program. does it matter when i take them?{before meal or after} or can i just take them anytime.

          HI there Carmen,

I cant advise you on another product – its best that your GP does that or the pharmacy where you purchased them. i would have though that you would use them closer to bed time.

This is a question related to someone I know who is on codeine based painkillers for cancer. She gets constipated and I wonder if mag oxide would be helpful to her?

    1. damian

      HI there Teresa,

its lovely that you care so much as to ask for a friend, thank you. We can’t give medical advice on this website. Whilst magnesium oxide is an incredibly safe and effective hydrator of the bowel, its best that your friend asks her GP, Oncologist or other members of her health care team to advise her on its use.

      Thanks

    Hi Damian,
Just a quick question, I really dont like Yogurt, is there anything I can swap for it at Breakfast time to have with a fruit salad?
From the Protien list, is it ok to just have boiled egg and fruit?

    Thanks
    Holly

    1. damian

      Dear Holly,

Egg and Fruit sounds great 🙂 you could also have fruit and some nuts – that is often super satisfying.

Hi, I would like to use the colon clear, but I am already 4 days into the blitz challenge. I have not ordered the product yet, so will have to wait until it gets delivered (I am in Auckland) – what do you advise?

  6. Last 5kg

    Hi Damian,

I’ve got the mag oxide and as you’ve said, it’s great and very effective (thanks) – Just one thing though… Apparently my bowels can’t wait until the morning to “move” and consequently I’m woken with the “washing machine affect” and the inevitable movement in the middle of the night!! Any ideas as to why that may be or suggestions??

    1. damian

      HI there Last 5kg,

thats awesome that it is working so well… perhaps just have a little less – try with 1/2 tsp 🙂

  7. cathb

Hi, I’ve been on the 21 day programme for 7 days and did the colon cleanse for 3 days in a row, the first 2 days I did’t ‘go’ till the afternoon and then on the 3rd day I had diarrohea all day and gripey noises so I thought maybe not to do the 4th day, is that normal and okay? thanks, cath

  8. seetha griffin

Hi I’ve been on the program 7 days lost 1.5 kgs , enjoying & loving trying different meal chooses . Just wondering Mung beans fit under what category ?!
Looking forward to my Colon Clear & Uroplex arriving so I can have more success this week .
It’s it ok to take if you have Crohns Diease ?!

    1. damian

      Hey Seetha!

Mung beans are part of the veggie category (great choice carbs)

If your Crohns is not in its active phase – you can certainly use Colon Clear. If it is in its active phase – use a small amount daily – about 1/3 tsp daily – not the full 1tsp at night. 🙂

Sadly I ordered my coloclean on Wedsnesday 21st and it still hasn’t arrived and Im disapointed that you pay $5 delivery for parcel post, I feel that it should be courier:(

    1. damian

G’day Megan, GREAT RESULTS! well done – i will personally look in to what is happening with your Colon Clear. please accept my apologies.

  10. Alli

    Hi Damian and Phyllis
I have lost 3kg in 5 days and have been following the meal plans exactly, although have not maintained the daily exercise, missed one and all others were 45 mins each. Is this safe? I feel great except that I would die for a hot chocolate (or 3!). I haven’t used the colon clear as it just arrived today and wonder if it is sensible to use it now. I am so glad it is only 21 days because after this I will be never ever eat bean mix for breakfast again, seriously Damian who’s idea was that! 😉 thanks for a programme that really works.

    1. damian

      Hey Alli,

great work!!!! 45mins exercise is awesome! well done.

bean mix??? are you referring to crunchy bean combo with the eggs?

    2. anne young

      Hi ALi
Are you sure it was the 3 bean combo you had for breakfast.. You get it in the Herbs and fresh salads area at the super market its so yummy just like fresh peas from a pod.. Keep up the good work I am on day six and feeling really great.. Will weigh myself on the 7 day to see what results are..

  11. Penny

    Hi Damian,

I am not good at drinking solutions like the colon clear but gave it a go. The first time I didn’t have the one movement in the morning but very frequent ones all day (couldn’t leave the house) and the second, nothing at all happened. Both times I gagged and heaved while drinking it but managed to get it down in about 20 minutes – what a wuss! I haven’t taken it since as am not really sure if I should?! Any ideas?

    1. damian

      Hi there Penny 🙂

you definitely should do it again – you should take Colon Clean and then with 12 hours it all should be out again. for it to last the whole day indicates you need to get a bit more out. try mixing it in less water its easier to get it down.

  12. luarnie taylor

hi damian i was asking about where the meal planner was in your program earlier an as i was reading through some questions people i had a thought. is the shopping list in our first email, what we use to create our meals, or do you have a set menu with receipes somewhere that i have missed??
