When I checked my ketones, the reading came as “moderate” which is 40 mg/dL. Is that anything I should be concerned about?
    Thanks

    Hi Damian,
I have just started the 21days today so last night I thought I would make the frittata seeing there is quite a lot of these and followed the recipe with the pumpkin, courgette, feta, 8eggs etc….

We had it for tea last night. It was very nice.

Can you please confirm the lunch frittata’s –

    1. Do I beat the 3 eggs and add 5 veges and put in the oven OR
    2. Do I add the above to the pumpking/courgette after 25mins in the oven then add Feta plus above assuming the 3eggs are hard boiled?

Also I tried to buy Uroplex but couldn’t get it from the Chemist? Can I only buy this from the Health Shop

    Thank you
    Yvonne

    1. damian

      Hello Yvonne,

you can buy Uroplex from the site through Slim You. it is a practitioner only product. πŸ™‚

the frittata – i chop the veggies up small, add the feta and then put the beaten eggs all over the top and pop it in the oven and after about 25-30 mins it is done πŸ™‚

      simple as that.

    Hi there
My 21day challenge will be ending this weekend although the journey to my goal weight will still continue. So far I’ve lost 3kg’s, and my body fat % is down so, I know I’m on the right track and I’m loving the extra energy. Can you give me some guidelines to continue with? I’m looking at the 112 day challenge, but not sure it’s for me at this stage as my motivation is high along with my knowledge of balanced nutrition. I guess what I’m asking for is how many carbs should I add back in (if at all)to my diet? And what about pulses and legumes like chickpeas?
Thanks by the way……fantastic kick start for change!

        1. Emma Piggot

I forgot to add that over the last 18 months including the 21 day challenge I’ve lost a total of 10kg’s using mostly balanced nutrition. Only recently, I’ve added exercise into the mix in the form of rock climbing, squash and box fit classes.

          1. damian

            HI there Emma,

It all depends on the speed you choose to lose weight at. If you are ok with slowing down the weight loss, introduce carbs rapidly – if you are interested in losing weight long term and for longer – add gentle carbs in like a small serve 1/2 cup cooked Quinoa or Brown rice every other day and see how it goes. you may still continue to lose the weight you want with these carbs.

    Hi all
Just want to say how well this program has worked for me. I’ve just finished day 21 and have lost 5.7kg. I feel so much better and its great to see the results. I made a note to myself that on my last day I would try on a shirt that hadn’t fit me quite right for a while, and I wore that shirt to work today. Its bright and felt good on, was just the “well done” I needed to give myself πŸ™‚

The food selection was good. We often baked etc veges to make a large frittata for our lunches for the next few days. My husband did a fantastic job at keeping me motivated by talking to me about what we would make for dinner the next night etc. I put stickers on the calendar to show the days I’d completed and another on the days I went to the gym or exercised. I’m prefer visuals to keep me motivated so this simple idea really helped me get through. Lemon slices in hot water is fantastic on a cold day.

Now the 21 days is finished and I’ve seen such a great success I plan to continue on with only slight changes. I will add some quinoa or brown rice sometimes, will continue to be more careful with my choices of meals when eating out. We usually have home made pizza every couple of weeks and thought I could modify it to the following:

Base – 2 cups wholemeal flour mixed with 200g-250g plain yoghurt
Topping – Hummus, feta, spinach, baked pumpkin & kumera

It makes quite a big pizza so I’ll be sure only to have a couple of slices πŸ™‚

Again thanks for the program and good luck to all those doing or about to complete it. Really 21 days is not that long, you can do it!

    Angela

    1. damian

      AMAZING! that pizza sounds YUM!

try using chicken BREAST as the base! its also awesome – or lebanese flat bread/pockets.

      congratulations Angela! 5.7KGS!!!!

      1. Angela Heald

Chicken breast as a pizza base, what a fantastic idea! I shall definitely be putting that on meal list. Thanks Damian πŸ˜€

    Hi all,
My partner and I have just completed the 21 day challenge and are very pleased to report that I lost 3.6kg and a total of 8cm while my partner lost 7kg! We are enjoying the new found energy and the meals are easy to prepare and very satisfying. We intend to adapt our regular meals to include more of what we have enjoyed over the last 3 weeks as well as keeping up the exercise and drinking the water. I’m looking forward to a great new body for Summer – many thanks for all the support!

    1. damian

CONGRATULATIONS SCGILLIES! thats great news. well done – great results for both of you! enjoy Summer!

    Hi Damian and Phyllis,

I’ve just finished the 21 day body blitz and wanted to thank-you for your great program. I’ve lost 4 kilos and am absolutely thrilled. I feel so much better and healthier. (still have about 3 kilos to go but I’m well on my way)

    Thank-you so much.
    Jenny

    Hi Damian and Phyllis,
Firstly I want to say thank you for such an amazing and effective program! I was able to achieve incredible results by following the 21 day Body Blitz Challenge. In late July I was diagnosed with dangerously high blood pressure as a result of unhealthy lifestyle habits consisting mainly of being overweight (topping 100kgs), bad food, alcohol, and running myself into the ground. Following Damian’s advice, I started following the program. After about 3 to 5 days of eating the recipe’s and exercising as prescribed, I started to feel much better, with LOADS more energy! Within the first week, I lost 4 kg’s which really inspired me to keep going. By the end of the 21 day program I lost 12 kg’s!! and feel 10 years younger! My blood pressure has dropped from 190/100 to 147/70!

After finishing the program I have continued to make healthy food choices with Damian’s help!)and kept up an exercise regime have lost another 3kgs!! Thank you so much guys for the amazing program and fantastic support! I couldn’t have done it without you!!

    1. damian

Marcus! thank you so much for the feedback. Its awesome that you had such an incredible result. it is testament to your hard work and dedication. well done!

  8. ANA SHORT

Hi there – have just finished my 1st week on the 21 day blitz, lost 1 kg – yay. There are still times I really long for something sweet, would a banana be ok? I don’t want to interupt my weight loss though.

  9. Jan Marr

Hi, 1st week completed and lost 2.5 kg – yay!! When is it ok to include feta or cottage cheese? do I omit something else, ie less protein to counter balance? Thanks

  10. Stacey Speedy

    Hi there

Love the concept of the program, healthy eating. Am in to day 9 of 21 day blitz. Feel energised and great. Lost 1.6 kg in first week.I only want to lose about another 3 kg. Do we have access to more recipe ideas?

    1. damian

Hey Stacey! you will be getting more in the coming emails πŸ™‚ the downsize me cook book is up for sale online at http://www.downsizeme.co.nz or you could do the 112 Day Challenge – you get TRUCK loads there too πŸ™‚ – but you don’t need to do the 112 Day Challenge with only 3 to go.

      1. Janine

        Hi
I dont seem to be receiving emails with recipes in them? I tried to start this august but timing didnt work so now started again and on day 3 and going well.
How do I get the recipes if I missed the emails? Thanks!

        1. damian

The recipes are on their way πŸ™‚ they start on Day 10 – there is a heap for you to do between now and then though and there are some recipes on the website that you can access

  11. Jan Marr

Hi, after losing 3 kg in the first week, I’ve stayed exactly the same for the 2nd week. Is this normal?, its a little disheartening, although I do feel great.

        1. damian

Hey Jan – if you can get your bowels moving by using the colon clear – this often frees everything up so that you can speed up your elimination and thus your rate of weight loss.

  12. Diane Smith

    Hi Damian

Started on Monday – now Saturday and 5 kilos gone!!! Great!! Only can’t handle the dairy in the frittata – ok to miss it out?

  13. Davinia Mikkelsen

    Hi Damian,

I’m a little confused, I have started th programme today but have recieved no recipes yet, so do I just wing my way through the ingredients to make up the dinners (fine if so) but would be nice to have a recipe too?

    Thanks.

    1. damian

Hi there Davinia, the menu planner is a great guide for you and also there are recipes on the website under members downloads. you will be getting more recipes coming up from about day 10.

Play with the ingredients for now πŸ™‚

  14. Megan Beesley

    Hi,

Im on day 4 and feeling great (first 2 days were hard!)

Few questions..Ive brought Ketostix, but not registering yet, what do i need to increase/decrease? Ive been v good, no naughty cheatin!

You dont mention protein (whey) powder or protein bars, do you not suggest we have them?

Bacon and good quality sausages ok?

Just to clarify someone’s post on yoghurt, all yoghurt is natural yes, but most of them are full of sugar, needs to be natural yoghurt with NO sugar, yes?!

    Looking forward to recipes!

    Thanks!

    1. damian

      Hi there Megan,

you don’t need to be burning ketones to be burning loads of fat. The ketostix are part of the program for safety only.

I don’t recommend protein bars as they aren’t real food
Whey is great – you’d need to make a smoothie though to use it well, and in this program there isn’t a lot of fruit.

      Bacon is not good
theres no such thing as ‘good quality sausages’ (as far as i am aware ) πŸ™‚

Natural Yoghurt is great – just keep it below 12-15% sugar.

      the recipes are coming! πŸ™‚

  15. sitruc

Hi – I am on day 5 today and have been following the progamme very closely. I am feeling very tired. Is that OK?

  16. Jan Vautier

    Hi Damian,
I’m now on day six and 2.8kg down.
I had an interesting food choice when meeting some friends for lunch today…..all the food choices had carbs (I was hoping to find a salad) and the one I opted for in the end was “carrot, chickpea, sesame seeds, cumin and yoghurt salad” actually quite nice and luckily I did a 2hour walk yesterday ts hope this balances out my option! went well with my long black :)I drink black coffee 90% of the time anway.
With the frittata recipe in the summer menu I have altered it slightly by just making it as an omelete- frying the veges first then adding the eggs and finally the feta before dishing up – also saves time!Yum

  17. Keri-lee Burrow

wow 21days later and 6.9kg lighter. Most importantly 10cm off my waist. Couldnt believe how easy it was so pleased with your program thank you. Loved the food and never found myself hungry. still have a long way to go but feel what i have learnt in these three weeks will continue to help me reach my goal.

    1. damian

OMG! well done Kerri-Lee – we’ll contact you to have chat about what you could do next! GREAT JOB!

      1. Keri-lee Burrow

Hi just a quick question the plates that you used on downsize is there anywhere i can buy one?

        1. damian

HI there Keri-Lee – i am pretty sure the only way to get them is on Trade Me now – they all sold out pretty quick.

  18. Jan Vautier

    Hi Damian
Well I’ve just finished my 21 days and happy to say 4.5kg down and an amazing 9cm reduction in waistline πŸ™‚ Not bad when you include a weekend away at my sisters but that was easy, I just made her eat the same as me! she enjoyed the grilled salmon and kumera jacket meal too…only weakness was I did give in to a glass or two of wine over the weekend, but soon lost the extra within a few days again.
I will email my after pic – even got my haircut to add to the “new me”….
And even though I have finished the programme I am quite content in continuing with a lot of the food choices as they are enjoyable as well as easy to prepare.
Thanks for the programme Damian, I feel much better for it. I even have a choice of clothes to wear again now they fit me at last instead of the baggy look to hide the stomach!

    cheers

    Jan V

    1. damian

Thats Awesome Jan! well Done πŸ™‚ great result! I can’t wait to see your comparison photos πŸ™‚

  19. Sharon Lord

I am in week 2 and doing quite well 3.6kg so far. I am finding it hard to eat all the food. If I feel full at lunch meal do I have to eat it all? I have been forcing it down, just in case I might feel hungry later but I know that I wouldn’t be. And because I don’t feel hungry I am often forgetting to eat the nuts that are for snacks especially when I am bust at work. Will this be a problem?

    1. damian

Hi there SHaron – that is AWESOME! just cut back your meal size if you like – also you don’t have to have the snacks. you probably don’t need them πŸ™‚ well done!

  20. Melissa Duffy

I lost 3 kg on the first week of the 21day challenge! I never thought I could live without past rice and bread but I did it! And it wasn’t really even that hard. Feeling much better, still a bit hungry at times though. Can’t wait to see how I go this week and next. Thanks!

  21. anne young

    Hi
1st week has gone really well, lost 1.2kgs feeling really good and best of all not getting that lunch time sleepy feeling , so much more energy .
Food is great having no trouble keeping to the program which is good for me usually I can sleep at night as I am just to hungry but have had no problems with this program. Its great πŸ™‚

  22. Tracey Brawley

I just wanted to say that I have really enjoyed doing the 21day . I have 2 days to go and have lost 4.5kg so far . I had already lost 5kg just trying to watch what I was eating , it took me 6mths to slowly lose that and I got to a point that no matter what I did I could not budge anymore weight. To lose that last 4.5 (and in only 3weeks!!) has been great as it has got me back to the weight I want to be. I will keep eating the way I have been in the last 21days ,as I have really enjoyed doing it, but will add some starch to help maintain my goal weight, and will try to keep away from choc (most of the time) as that is my biggest challenge. I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get back to a healther me.

    1. support

      Hi Tracey.
We love to hear that! We are so glad to hear that you are reaping the benefits of the programme, that’s wonderful news. I would recommend increasing your carb intake rather than adding starch into your diet if you are trying to maintain. We wish you all the best in the near future.
      Haylee.
